A Demon's Regret

Summary

Andy is a very, very rare sort of demon that, at first, fulfills all the desires of lonely, desperate people. Their dreams come true; in his embrace they know paradise. Once Andy's bored, he leaves, and the poor souls are left to wither in agony at their rejection, incapable of ever feeling anything that will ever compare again.

Why? Because it fills Andy's cavernous, always emptying belly. And it's fun, generally. But lately...

Note: for readers of A Demon's Bargain, this story starts off almost identically. But, as you'll see, the outcome is not the same. As I sat, plotting, I decided I could not resist indulging myself, and having two completely different plots. Personally, my favorite is ADB, and if you're going to only read one, I suggest that one.

The Creator (God/Allah/Yahweh/Jehovah/Odin/Jupiter/Elohim/Aten/Adonai/Baha/Waheguru/Ahura Mazda/etc.), father of Chris, as well as everything, technically. Andy's grandfather and a big Cardinals fan.
