I Need You Here Tonight
Summary
Dakota Kaplan is an ordinary university student. She would rather spend her nights watching Netflix and eating pizza than partying, however she ends up going out with her best friends and running into an old 'friend.'
Jake and Dakota knew each other in school. Jake bullied her, but since their reunion they have decided to become friends. There is a thin line between friendship and love though. Dakota begins to develop feelings.

Alex Gaskarth
Alex lives in the same dorm as Dakota. He and Tay are in a relationship. He is very friendly and likes to spend time with his friends. Studies Theoretical Physics.
Ashley Purdy
Ashley lives in the dorm across the road. He and Dakota have known each other since they were children as he was friends with Jake. He and Dakota do not get on. Shay has a crush on him though, but is too afraid to tell him. Studies Graphic Design.
Bret Von Dehl
Lives in the same dorm as Dakota and is her lab partner. Bret and Dakota share many similar interests including anime and cult movies. He does have a crush on Dakota, but doesn't tell her as he knows she doesn't feel the same way. Is happy being her friend.
Dakota Leigh Kaplan
Dakota studies in London and is quite happy waching movies on Netflix. She is painfully awkward and clumsy, but can be hot-tempered. Once she opens up she is lively and chatty. Likes spending time with Oli and Shay. Has a crush on Jake. Studies Biomedical Science.
Hannah Snowdon
Hannah lives in the dorms down the street. She studies Fine Art and is very creative. She has liked Oli for a while now and the two began dating at the end of August.
Jack Barakat
Jack lives in the same dorm as Vic and likes to turn every conversation into a sexual joke. He is very jokey and funny. Jack studies Arts and Sciences. Best friends with Alex.
Jake Pitts
Jake is two years older than Dakota. They grew up together due to their mother's being close friends. Jake moved away. He and Dakota agree to be friends, but will they be able to maintain a friendship. Jake is troublesome and the definition of problematic. Works as a tattooist. Quite closed off at times and doesn't like to talk about himself.
Kellin Quinn
Kellin studies at the Metropolitan University. He is Vic's boyfriend and spends a lot of time with Vic's friends. He gets on very well with Shay and Dakota.
Oliver Sykes
Oli has been friends with Dakota since year 10 and the two of them have always been close. They like having Netflix marathons and seeing who can eat the most pizza. Studies English Literature and language. Is in a relationship with Hannah.
Shay Burkett
Shay is Dakota's best friend. She is a party girl and enjoys going out drinking. She is out going and full of energy. She has known Dakota for a few years now. Quite vulnerable deep down. Studies Comparative Literature. Has a crush on Ashley.
Taylor Jardine
Tay lives in the same dorm as Dakota and is in a relationship with Alex. They have been together over a year and care about each other. Tay is very genuine and sweet. Studies Social Sciences.
Vic Fuentes
Lives in the dorms round the corner. Vic is calm and very patient. He studies Neuroscience, but did start on the same course as Dakota. Is in a relationship with Kellin.
