The Model

Visits

"Tara", a soft but stern voice said. Little by little I slipped back to reality. Back into the noisy classroom and Waldorf's monotone voice. "Tara, you really need to wake up!" Ela slightly shook my shoulder and sighed. "Come on."

Finally I was able to open my heavy eyelids and get aware of my surroundings. "If you do not want to participate or have any interest in my lecture I ask you to please leave", my history teacher said with a hint of annoyance in his thin voice. "I'm sorry", I breathed, my vision spinning. God, I needed a full sleep cycle or otherwise I would pass out like now or even worse.

The things the mysterious boy said came back to my conscious. Would I see him again in my dreams? I talked to him and for being an illusion in a dream he was quite nice. Ela didn't know about him, though. She just knew that I had repeating nightmares that kept me up all night. I didn't want to make her worries grow too big so I just left out details. I didn't even know myself what all of that meant.

The coffee I had this morning apparently did no good since I continued to pass out at random times in almost every period I had today. The teachers scolded me, but I didn't really care. All I did care about was tonight. Maybe I could finally sleep. Ela forced me to stay home tomorrow so I could compensate the lost nights and even the headmistress found it was time for me to get healthier again.

As I returned from her office I welcomed my bed like an old friend I hadn't seen in years. I didn't question anything the boy said or did. I just wanted to know if he disappeared. I didn't even bother to take off my shoes let alone my clothes. My eyes closed and sweet darkness and silence surrounded me. My body relaxed and a peaceful smile appeared on my face. This felt like paradise. I only hoped I would stay like this for at least a couple hours.

It was dark in our room as I returned from this sweet dreamless sleep. I sighed, yawned and felt a lot better than I did a few hours ago. I actually gained all of my senses back. I saw the moonlight turning the room a blueish color. I smelled the soap of my sheets. And my head was not spinning that bad anymore. I wanted to squeal, but that would have woken up Ela, who breathed peaceful.

Wait. Her breathing came from the other corner of the room, not her bed.
I pulled together my brows and sat up, looking over to her bed which was empty. My gaze wandered to our desk in front of my bed and I slightly jumped. There was a sillouhette sitting on the chair, head on their arms. But it didn't look like my best friend.

"Ela?", I whispered. The person mumbled something and I was sure that Ela's voice was not that deep.

As fast as I could I turnt on the little lamp on my nightstand and let out a muffled screech, as I realized, that that really was not Ela. The person sighed into their arm and lifted their head. The sight of two in the pale moonlight glowing blue eyes almost made me screech again, but I contained myself.

"You're awake", he stated, a lopsided smile on his face. Was I still dreaming? I had to because normally it wouldn't happen for imaginary people from dreams to just show up in your own room. That was it. I was now officially crazy. Maybe they would put me into a straightjacket and throw me in a mental hospital. I wouldn't blame anyone for that.

"Please calm down", he said with his deep soothing voice. I noticed that my breathing hitched up and my hands began trembling. "Am... Am I dreaming?", I pressed through gritted teeth. His answer sent shivers down my spine.

"No. You're not."

@shadowsdied

Your English is generally fantastic. English is a really messed-up language; you should be proud. Your mastery of it exceeds many of the native speakers on this site by far.

I don't share how I got into the band. It's a crazy story. ;3

Suffice to say I'm a big fan now.

I like your descriptive narrative. Though, on a side note, the drug is spelled 'ecstasy.' ;3
