I wake up with Andy's arms wrapped tightly around me. I slowly climb out and then look up. Cheshire smiles brightly at me with a knife to my throat. I swallow slowly. "Cheshire, you know we're on the same side. Just like last time." He laughs. "Oh honey we are on different sides this time." He sits and frowns. He hands me a slip of red paper. I take a look at the new rules.
We stop at the lake. Instead of the light beautiful blue I'm used to, it's a deep dark blue. Poison. I walk over to the other lake and take one look at it. Poisoned also. "Don't drink the water. It's poisoned." Andy nods. I hand him the new rules. "These are the new rules." He reads them. He hands it back and I slip it into my backpack.
I pull a water bottle out of the bag and fill it with the water. I swish it around and it turns a light blue. I take a small sip. Pure. I hand it to Andy. "It's fine. I promise." He hesitates but finally drinks some of the water. He hands it back and I look around. I see no one and I close my eyes. I hear nothing stirring and open my eyes again. "Come on. We need to keep moving. Nowhere is safe anymore." I start walking and hear him follow behind.
I see the sky turn to a dark red. I hear a purr from the hole in the ground. Chesire's house. I look at Andy and make a shushing signal. He nods and I quietly step down on the step. I reach for his hand. I feel a sweaty palm grab mine. I look back and see him. I flip his hand and see the heart imprint.
I walk all down the steps quietly. Andy's boot smacks against the tile. I look at him and the door closes. I look back and see Chesire's green blue eyes. I feel my throat growing with bile as his faces twists into the warped smile. "Well well. If it isn't Taylor and Andy." I draw in a shaking breath as Andy steps down behind me. Chesire flashes behind us and gives Andy a push. We tumble down the stairs and I hit my head against a hard table. I look up and see a two tables with metal on the top and a tray of torturing devices on it. I feel Andy's hand ripped from mine. Chesire drags him onto the table. He chains him to it after a few minutes. He comes to me and I grab the knife. He sighs and his shoulders drop. "Now Taylor. We both know how this is gonna end. Give me the knife and don't resist." I nod and hand him the knife. As he grabs it and I slash it across his hand. He slaps my cheek. "Now that wasn't nice!" He grips my arms and slams me into the chair. He straps me in and brings Andy over. "Now you will be punished." He picks up a knife and walks slowly over to Andy. "Please Chesire no." I say repeatedly and squirm in my seat.
He gives me a sick, twisted smile. He slices Andy's arm and Andy clenches his jaw tightly. He jabs his knife into Andy's tricep and carves smile. I feel tears rush down my cheeks as Andy lets out a piercing scream. "P-please stop. Please." He smiles again and rips the knife from Andy's arm. He walks over to me and meets my eye level. He drags the knife lightly across my cheek. Then he adds pressure, making a cut from the end of my eyebrow all the way to my lip. I feel the warm blood spread across my face and I feel as the jagged knife dig it's way into my cheek.
He removes me from the chair and carries me to the table. He chains me to it and keep me and Andy far apart. He smiles over me. He traces the knife over my collarbone and to my armpit. He digs the knife into my flesh and drags it up past my collarbone and into my shoulder. I release a blood-curdling scream that earns me a slap. "Be quiet." I whimper as he goes near Andy again. He rips a hole down from the knee to the ankles of Andy's pants. He walks back over to the table and grabs a ninja star. He digs it into Andy's leg and leaves it. He grabs a few more and does the same. Then he rips them all out. Andy screams loudly. Chesire gave him a cut across the cheek like mine. "If you two do not learn to shut up, I will have to give the electric chair, a whipping, or throwing knives at you two." I whimper at the dark smile he sends us both. He cleans the knife and throwing stars and then walks up the other stairs. "Good night my pretties. I'll leave the light on for tonight." He walks up the stairs and slams the door. "I am so sorry Taylor. This is all my fault. If I had never made a sound we won't be in this mess right now." I shake my head. "He knew we were coming for him. It's not you're fault. Are you okay?" He shakes his head and looks at me. "I wish we could leave. Right now." I chuckle. "Me too. Me too. Goodnight Andy. I'll see you on the morning for round two." He laughs and nods. I slowly drift away from all of this, yearning for my warm bed.
- Take the Chesire's tail and give it to the Hatter.
- Kill the Red Queen and bring the crown to the White Queen.
