I must be crazy
A few weeks later…
I remove my fangs from Taylor's neck. Her blood has become a drug to me. I drug I need daily. While my skin glows, hers grows awfully pale. I frown and she wipes away blood that I forgot to get. I grab her hand and lick up the blood. She rips her hand away.
I stare at her. "What's wrong?" Tears swell up in her lifeless eyes. "This has to stop Andy. I can't keep giving my blood away. I need it to live. And you're taking it all." She shivers at the small breeze. I didn't even notice how thin she's become. "I-I'm so sorry." She laughs bitterly. "You keep saying that! But you keep taking. And taking. I can't do this anymore." I bite into my wrist. "Drink from me. It'll heal you." She looks up at me with watery eyes. "But not without a price." I sigh. "I'll pay that price." She hesitates as she draws my wrist to her lips.
She bites into the spot where I bit my wrist. She moans slightly and I see the color returning to her skin. I feel myself grow unsteady as she drinks. "Taylor." I say as my eyes fall shut . I feel her catch me and I open my eyes slightly. "I-I am so sorry Andy." She says with pain swirling in those beautiful brown eyes. I open my mouth to say something but I hear a crack. I sit up and wrap my arms around her. "What was that?" I look at her and then we're falling. I look up and see a big hole in sky. Then I realize that is the ground. It swells together and a green blue glow lights the room. We stop falling so fast and Taylor clutches to me.
"Where are we?" I ask quietly. She looks around a touches the broken tea cup. "Lucifer's Wonderland. Warped and demonic." She says no emotion in her voice. A dark laugh fills the tunnel thing we're traveling down. We land on the ground with a loud, echoing thump. She sets off and out of my grasp. Her outfit changes before me. It changes to a sleek black zip up top, tight black pants, and black boots with a sharp stiletto. She turns and looks at me. I feel the familiar tight restraint of leather around my skin. I look down and see a shiny black vest, tight black pants, and black boots. She smiles a little. She holds out her hand and I take it.
She grabs the key from the table and breaks the I half. She sets one back on the table and breaks the other in half. She hands me a piece. "Eat it." I throw it in my mouth and want to spit it right back out. She nods and we both shrink. She walks over to the door, her hand still entangled with mine. She opens the door and walks through. The door closes and locks after I walk into the dark world.
Instead ad of a beautiful dark blue sky like in the story, it's a deep red. Everything is warped and quite scary. "This is Lucifer's challenge. He always does this when he makes a deal. Especially for me. He knows I love wonderland, so he made a warped version of it. Don't trust anything." She turns away and faces me. She looks around and presses her hand to mine. A pain shoots through it. She pulls away and I see an identical heart shape on hers. She looks at my other hand and five words are on it in black ink.
To identify the real me. I nod and she grabs my hand and we walk down the broken red path. She watches every nook and cranny. "Well, well. If it isn't Lucifer's favorite toy." I see a girl that looks identical to Taylor. But a bright fake smile is plastered on her face and she has a bruise on her cheek. She dressed as a sluty Alice. She cocks her head to the side. "Who's this?" "This is Andy. Now move before I kill you. Again. I don't have time for this." The other Taylor frowns and then smiles again. "That's not nice Taylor. Lucifer said he'd punish you if you hurt me again." Taylor laughs bitterly. "Lucifer's a lier. You should know this being his whore." My eyes widen. I've never heard Taylor speak like that to anyone. The girl glares.
Her hands turn to swords. And Taylor glares. Taylor's hand turns into a tazer and she tazer the girl in a second. "Come one." Her hand turns normal and she grips mine. We walk around the girl and then Taylor breaks into a sprint. I run after her.
Later in the day…
Taylor paces across the floor. "How are we suppose to get back?" I ask quietly. "We need to cut out the white queen's heart and give it to the red queen. Then we need to get the mad hatter's hat give it to Cheshire, then we need to kill absulme and then finally" She says turning to me "we offer one of us as a sacrifice. Lucifer won't actually kill us but he will make it difficult. At the end we are to sacrifice something close to us. Something that means everything." She cringes. "What did you sacrifice?" She looks at me and pain, fear, and wildness dances in her eyes. "I couldn't choose. So he did. He took Jackson from me. And something else." I look away from her and off in the distance. She looks up at the sky. "We need to go. They will find us if we stay somewhere too long." She starts walking off and I follow closely behind.
"They? Who's they?" She pushes a large plants away with her powers. "Don't touch that. It'll kill you. Don't touch anything without askin me first, okay?" I nod. "They, are the people who want to kill us. The Mad Hatter, Alice, The White Queen, And others. It's best if we just stay together." I nod and stand beside her. She looks at me with a smile. "Why are we here Taylor?" Her breathing hitches. "I made a deal with Lucifer. I had to have you fall madly in love with me by the end of the wedding." I look at her. "So, this meant nothing to you? I was just a deal?" She looks at me with hurt in her eyes. "No. Of corse not. The only reason he made the damn offer was because he knew. He always knew what I never told. He knew that I liked you. A lot." I scoff. "What do you get in return?" She sucks on her teeth. "He'd leave me and everyone I care about alone. If I lost the bet, I'd be his forever." Pain wells up in my chest.
I turn away so I don't have to look at her. I can't believe she did that. "Come on. There's a safe place over here." She says and I follow. We walk into a cave and set puts up a sheild. "We can see out but they can't see in. Come on let's get some sleep. We're gonna need it with all the running we'll be doing. You're gonna want to eat." She tilts her head. "A-are you sure?" She nods. I walk over and bite into her neck. After a minute or two I pull away. Her skin still has that healthy glow. She pulls out some food in a bag. She opens in and hands half of the contents to me. We eat and then she lies down on the floor. "Goodnight Andy." She says and I lie down next to her as a chill fills the room. I wrap my arms around her and we huddle together for warmth all night.
