Suffer In Silence

*Dakota's POV*

I resist the urge to smash my phone against the wall for 3 reasons. 1. It's not my phones fault I set the alarm for school, 2. It's not the phones fault that I have a raging headache, and 3. I mean come on, my phone is my life, second only to my ipod, not counting my animals or friends of course. I dismiss the alarm and stumble out of bed with a groan. I clumsily make my way to the fridge and skull 2 full mugs worth of icy cold water. The freezing cold liquid quenches my demanding thirst and effectively kills the headache. I sigh with relief, glad it was just dehydration, and not one of those asshole stayswithyouallday headaches. Next I pull out a container of pre-cut watermelon pieces, I have two squares then put it back, and proceed to feed and water the animals.

Once I'm done with all that I take a much needed shower, now I'm finally able to get dressed. I pick out my favourite white long sleeve undershirt, then my uniform shirt on top, paired with my usual school pants, you won't catch me wearing the fucking skirt, it's way too short. I chuck my favourite converse on and head into the bathroom to blow dry my hair, which was only towel dried from before, then I get started on straightening it. As I'm putting on my make-up and covering the bruise with my hair, I consider skipping school today... Got maths up first, ugh I HATE maths, and Sir is SUCH a dick... oooh wait... today's out last chance to practise for performance day in music... FUCK... I HAVE to go now...

Finally done I head off to school, after locking the house up since Carrie is already gone. Haha sucked in for her, having to start early sucked so bad when I was in her grade... I chuckle, plugging in my earphones. I choose to listen to Reese Mastin this time, that guy who won x factor, fuck he can sing. I hope he gets to live his dream of helping bring rock back, the world would suck if it died out... All too soon I see the depressing grey gates of the school looming up ahead. I sigh and march through the other zombie-like students, Sandra appears beside me looking equally as grumpy... I can tell we're both thinking the same thing... Another day in hell....

*Andy's POV*

I've woken up with a new resolve today, insted of sitting back and waiting for miss clueless to realise how I feel, I'm going to do something about it. I'm going to make her want me, I'll be sexy, or cute, whatever the situation calls for. I know she's attracted to me, I've seen it in her eyes before, I just need to encourage her to show it. Well... that or make her want me so bad that when I work up the courage, and the time is right, I ask her out and she actually says yes. Step 1 is I have to look both adorable and sexy, so I shower, straighten and tease my hair, letting some of it fall over my eyes, then I apply just enough guyliner, not too much.

Now my clothes, since this stupid school has a uniform my options are limited, so I opt for a thin, slightly see-through long sleeve with thumb holes in it, it's a little ripped in the torso in just the right places. This way, at the end of the day I can un-button my school shirt, to reveal the one underneath. Finally I pick my favourite batman converse, chuck my batman sidebag over my neck and head off to school. Oh woops I forgot breakfast... oh well too late I'm already running late!... I wonder if she'll like how I look today... will she even notice?...

All throughout the school day I've been following my plan to the letter. When I see her walk by in the halls, I act cool, smirk and nod at her. I hope that's sexy, 'cos to be honest I don't really know how to be sexy... Today at lunch I tried my best to be the adorable Andy I know most people love, it was such a relief to find that she loves it, she kept giggling and glancing at me. Maybe I'm in with a chance... I'm hoping to find out things about her, little things, like what her favourite colour is, favourite animal, the kinds of things that would make her surprised that I know, not in the creepy way though fuck, I gotta play this right....

*****Time Lapse*****

I race to the tuck shop and manage to get the last container of fruit salad... score! she's gonna love this!... I can't wipe the grin off my face as I approach our lunch table. Oh I should say, it's second lunch, we have two lunch breaks at this school, which is an upside I guess, that and they let us have our hair how we want and wear whatever shoes we want as long as there's nothing obscene on them. "What's with the cheshire grin Brucey" Koda teases, fuck I love it when she calls me that, she knows enough about batman to know his real name it's so sexy... "Hellooooo... earth to Andy?" CC waves his hand in my face, I swat it away laughing. "Guess who got the last fruit salad!" I bounce excitedly. "You dick! I wanted fruit salad!" Koda mock whines, playing along. I sigh dramatically and hand it over. "Fine... take it, it is beneath me anyway..." I sniff, pretending to be posh. She giggles and kisses my cheek, I duck my head enough so my hair covers my face, hiding my flaming cheeks. "Seriously though, thanks batman" she smiles and I melt inside....

*Sandra's POV*

*****Time Lapse*****

It's finally Tuesday again, I'm so fucking excited!, performance day is here!, I don't care if we suck or not I just can't wait to perform for our class!... We've been practising all week long, even on days we don't have music, Koda finished the lyrics with some help from me, their not the best, neither of us are skilled at songwriting. Don't get me wrong though, there are some great lines in there, I hope Miss Lolli likes it, even my drums... We have music first up after homeroom, the entire time I've been trying to calm Koda down. She's on the verge of a panic attack... What do I do?! oh! I'll talk about Andy's weirdness lately!... "Hey so what's the deal with Andy eh?" I elbow her in the side... "What, he forget his crazy pill or something?, remember yesterday when he crashed into some kids open locker, 'cos he was too busy walking backwards waving at us?". I look at her and am relieved when she smiles and giggles.

"That was pretty funny wasn't it?" she admits. Before long our names are called. "Now next up is Dakota and Sandra, due to special circumstances they worked together, but they will be graded individually just like the rest of you... They will be performing a song they titled, 'The Crash', vocals written and sung by Dakota, and drums instrumentals written and performed by Sandra, silence please while they perform. Okay girls, when you're ready...", she steps back and sits on a chair at the back of the room... This is it...

I start the beat, if you closed your eyes it would sound like a heart beat, I start fast but slow it down, giving the illusion of time slowing down with the heart beat. Koda breaths out slowly and begins to sing...

"Time slows down, hearts beat fast
I see your face, as my eyes close...
Cars are crashing... silent screams of pain.
As I hit the screen all I can think of is one thing...
Are.. You.. Alive?...
What is this darkness consuming me?
The fear goes numb as shock sets through...
I try to open my eyes, but my strength is fading...
Ooooooh, I feel the crash as the pain ignites...
And I feel.. fear.. it has returned with a vengeance...
It's crushing our hearts.. I can smell it in the air.
The monster sound of our cars and our lives being torn apart..
Silence.. In just a matter of seconds our world has changed.. The words escape his sobbing heart.. I love you..
A girl.. so frail and small.. a boy.. so quiet and kind...
And a heartbroken father.. all surrounded by the others..
Innocents in this tragedy, while the villian speeds off getting away scot free...
The sadness within' this crushing moment...
As the ambulance carries the innocents away..
A father cries his daughters name...
But will never receive a reply, not yet...
But this will never hold us down, this wrecking incident, in a quiet town.. Oh no it won't hold us down.. we will fight the darkness...
We will stand strong and true, sticking together we will,
hold.. on.. through...."

All the while I make the beats, perfectly timed to add to the story, perfectly painting the picture in their heads. When we're finished the class erupts into applause, some of them have even teared up. I smile, Koda turns to me in shock, then smiles too, we succeeded in what we set out to do. We made them feel like they were there, feel how we felt, feel something at least, and no matter what grade we get, that's good enough for us. I'm proud of what we achieved, and by the look on her face, so is she....
