Savior

Jess's POV

"Sorry about that babe," I shoved the phone into my pocket and skipped over to where he stood. "Now where were we?" I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him close. I leaned in but just as our lips were about to meet he turned away. He said nothing, simply placed his shirt over his head and walked to the door. He twisted the lingering key, unlocking the door, and gestured outside.

"You should go," was all he said. His eyes remained focused on the ground; it made it difficult to distinguish whether or not he was angry or just dissapointed.

My feet stayed glued to the ground. There was not a single sound coming from anywhere; it was as if even the trees were leaning in just to catch a glimpse of the oncoming action.

After a few minuted of silence I composed my thoughts and decided to speak up. I took a few steps forward, closing the widening gap in between us.

"What's--"

"I said you should go..." The volume of his voice was no louder than a whisper but it was coated in sadness. I reached out to his hand, intertwining our fingers. His palm was sweaty, while his fingers felt as if he had just stuck them in the coating of snow outside. He just shook me off and moved his arm so that his hand was hidden behind his back.

"What's your problem?!" I snapped. His head remained facing the ground but his eyes moved so that they were locked with mine. "Is it because I made you wait? Because come on that was like a minute and I came back righ--"

You know exactly why I'm upset." He interrupted me, pulling the door so that the exit was a bit more obvious.

I sighed. "It's Andy isn't it..." and turned away to pace the distance between the door way and the staircase. He shrugged, closing the door so that we could talk about it.

"It's just that we never see each other anymore. And when we do get a chance he always has to interrupt!" There was a bitterness in his voice and I could tell he was becoming frustrated.

"Maybe that's because you always have something else to do when I do want to see you!" I shot back.

"Are you fucking serious?!" He yelled. Unlike Andy he made it obvious when he was angry. "I'm always asking if you want to come over and it's always 'oh sorry baby, I'm with Andy'. It's always fucking Andy." He spat out his name as if it were the Devil's himself. "I swear to God you love him more than me." Tears stung at my eyes. I wasn't sure if they were from anger or just guilt.

"Fucking hell so what if I do! At least he treats me like a fucking human being and not just a sex toy!" He stormed to the door, whipping it open.

"Get the fuck out of my house, slut." Gritting my teeth, I ran out of the door, disregarding the fact that I was left with only my jeans and a bra on. My skin was burning hot; but my heart felt like it did outside: cold and dead.

Just as he was closing the door he shouted, "I bet you were fucking him the entire time we were together!"

I took one last look at him. I hated when people assumed things about me and Andy's relationship. "I never fucking loved you," I got into my car and slammed the door. The engine roared as I turned the keys in the ignition. I pulled out of his driveway, crashing into his mailbox on the way. "Rot in Hell you asshole."
