'Mate?! What the hell? There is no possible fucking way that me and manwhore Purdy are ever going to get together.' I thought to Takira. /My dear you don't have much of a choice. Neither of us do. The choosing of a mate doesn't have anything to do with how you see a person. But rather it is a timeless soul deep connection. Nobody can control it. Believe me dear. You would have would up with him eventually. The only reason I can confirm he is our mate is because I can sense it when we are close to him. His inner 'beast' as you refer to us. He calls out to me on a level that only I can hear./ she told me calmly. I had stopped chocking on my water and was now staring blankly ahead in horror. 'Wait. How does he have a beast? He is entirely human. Right?' I asked her. I felt her laughter. /He seems human but I sense deep within him a power that he locks up. Something that even he is not aware of but when you are with him it stirs in his soul. His beast wants only to be free. To be realized by its other half. I feel his cries though our mate is yet unaware of him. Our mate has ancient blood running through his veins. Something that is nearly as old as me./ Takira spoke. I wrinkled my face. 'How old are you. And would you not call him our mate?' I asked. /Princess. I predate the gods. And whether you accept it or not that boy is to be our mate./ she said. I groaned out loud causing Ashley to look at me. "But it's not fair!" I groaned. "What's not fair?" Ashley asked. I realized I had spoken out loud and blushed furiously. He reached out a hand to touch me and I jumped up and away from him. He looked at me strangely. "Tora? What's wrong?" He asked standing up and walking towards me. "Nothing's wrong. Nothing at all. Wow boy is it late. Well better get to bed night Purdy!!" I said before sprinting to the tent crawling inside and zipping it up behind me praying he wouldn't follow. He didn't and soon I heard him settle down in his side of the tent. I put my head in my hands. 'What am I gunna do about this?' I wondered. /You are going to have to accept it./ Takira said. 'Accept it my ass! I can't be with him! He just so- so- so Ashley!' I practically screamed at her in my mind. She just laughed at me and then got quiet. I spent the rest of the night in silent contemplation. When morning came I quickly started gathering my stuff. In an hour I had all of my stuff packed. The fire was out. The trash was picked up and now I just needed for the others to wake up and get their stuff together so we could leave and I could get my distance from Ashley. I paced in front if the fire pit in a pair of black cutoff shorts and a black tank top. I paused when I heard people waking up and tried I sit down and act like I wasn't going crazy. After everyone woke up and got packed I started to break camp. I studiously ignored Ashley and asked Cc for help. When everything was packed an put away we headed back to the cars and headed back to the house. When we reached the house I leapt out of Sammi's car like it was on fire and headed straight for my room. I heard people calling out behind me but ran up to my room and closed the door behind me. I threw my bag down and buried my head in my pillow. After about half an hour somebody knocked on my door. It cracked oped and the girls popped their heads in. "Can we come in?" They asked. I nodded my head and they filed in closing the door behind them and sitting on my bed. I sat up and stared down at my comforter. "Okay that's it. What's wrong?" Juliet asked after a few minutes of silence. I tilted my head up and looked at her. I couldn't lie to them. They were my family. I sighed. "If I'm goin to tell you guys then get Jinxx in here because he needs to know this to." I said slowly. They all looked at me suspiciously but Sammi pulled out her phone and texted Jinxx. Not even a minute later he came in and sat on the bed next to Sammi. He looked from the girls faces to my own. "What is it? What's going on?" He asked. I sighed again. "Okay guys. So it started when Cc threw me into the lake..." I told them about dyin and talking to my mom and Takira and then joining with her and her telling me about Ashley. I left out anything concerning my scars so as not to worry them. After an hour of me talking I finished and they all looked at me strangely. The first to speak was Jinxx. "No. I absolutely forbid it. I don't give a damn what Takira says. Ashley isn't going to touch my baby girl. Mate or no I'm not letting it happen." He said slipping into the overprotective father role. Sammi nodded. "Trust me. I dot want this any more than you guys. But I can't deny that Takira speaks some truth. When I'm around him I feel like my soul is pulled towards him." I said softly. At the helpless look on my face the four of them pulled me into a hug. "We'll figure this out. For now maybe you should try and avoid Ashley and get some time to sort your feelings out, okay?" Sammi said and I nodded. After that we all went downstairs and it was time for Ella and Juliet to leave. I hugged them sadly before they walked out the door. Sammi Jinxx and I made our way into the living room. When I saw Ashley in there I immediately made up an excuse to leave the room. I walked into the kitchen and leaned down with my elbows on the counter and my head in my hands. Okay. Just because he lived here didn't mean it would be impossible to avoid him right? No sooner had I thought that then I felt an arm snake around my waist and turn me around to look into Ashley's chocolate brown gaze. "So why have you been avoiding me like the plague?" He whispered huskily. I groaned inwardly. This was going to be harder than I thought.
