Blood Secrets: Tales of the Children of the Moon

Chapter Thirty: Family Chat

Chapter Thirty: Family Chat

~*~ Two Months Later ~*~

Things had not been going well for Vixen. Nor had it been going well for Ravyn. The two girls had begun to spend more and more time together and now anyone who met them said they were just like sisters they were so alike. But that wasn't the problem.

Faith was.

In over the past two months, Dave and Terry had been feeding Ravyn and Angel any information they could, and in turn Ravyn and Angel would tell Vixen and Faith. Now they had had quite a bit of information, enough to start an attack plan in Seattle. Ravyn and Angel, along with Dragon and their small family, all wanted to join the fight that was going to take place in Seattle but Faith wouldn't stand for it. She wouldn't even let Ravyn go hunting with any of them anymore. Not since she had found out about Ravyn's pregnancy.

Now the only person who could undermine Faith was standing at the front door of Vixen and Faith's home, ready to talk to his sister. Jarreth took a deep breath and then finally knocked on the door. He heard footsteps and paw steps running down what he guessed was a hallway that led to the front door, or at least by the sound of it, it did. Suddenly the door was wrenched open and a large black wolf knocked him down.

"Andy NO! It's Jerr!" Jarreth held the wolf- who was apparently Andy- back from biting his throat out, until he stopped struggling against him and looked Jarreth in the eye. Jarreth looked back and raised a brow. "You always greet your friends like this Andy?" He asked, chuckling. Andy whined and then got off Jarreth, shaking out his fur. Andy padded back inside and stood on Vixen's other side as Vixen looked at Jarreth with a sheepish grin. "Sorry about that Jerr, Andy's a bit on edge because of your sister," she whispered, making Jarreth smile. "I figured," he said as Vixen showed him inside. They went down the long hallway Jarreth had figured was there and walked into the living room where they found Ravyn laying on one couch, Angel sitting with her head in his lap, and Dragon sitting with her feet in his lap. Ashley, Kitty, Ghost and Sorcha sat in the other, and Katerina sat with the other members of Black Veil Brides on the third couch. Jarreth nodded and waved to them and then looked at his charges.

"You alright Rave?" He asked gently, coming to crouch in front of her. Then he realized she was sleeping. He looked up at Angel. "How long has she been like this?" He asked. "You mean the sleeping or the morning sickness?" Angel asked, chuckling as he ran his hand through Ravyn's hair. Jarreth noticed that Dragon was rubbing the soles of Ravyn's feet while they were talking. He raised a brow at him. Dragon just shrugged. "What? I'm just trying to make her feel better," he said, defensive. Jarreth chuckled then looked back at Angel, waiting.

Angel smirked. "The sleeping, for about an hour now. The morning sickness on the other hand...shortly after she found out about the baby-"

"Your having twins," Kitty piped up from her seat, not taking her eyes off the journal she was reading. Angel's eyes widened. "How do you know that?" Kitty finally looked up from the journal and smiled. "I have visions. Do you want to know what your having? Cause I know that too," she said still smiling. Angel spluttered for a moment, not being able to think of a coherent thought before he finally untied his tongue and said, "I think I should wait till Rave is up. She'll wanna hear it too." Kitty nodded and then went back to her journal, snuggling into Ashley's side as she read. Jarreth smiled at Angel. "Congrats Bro," he said patting him on the shoulder. Angel smiled back and returned his earlier motions of petting Ravyn's hair.

Jarreth got up from his crouching position and looked at Vixen. "Where's my sister?" He asked curiously. Vixen scrunched up her face. "Fucking Marilyn Manson," she replied. Jarreth looked at her and laughed. "Good one Vix," he said patting her shoulder. Vixen just looked at him. Jarreth's eyes widened after a moment when he realized she wasn't laughing too. "Oh God your serious," he said shocked. Vixen nodded. Rage darkened Jarreth's gaze. "Where is she?" He growled. Vixen jerked her thumb to the staircase at the other end of the living room area. "Up the stairs, three floors in the attic. I'd be careful though, she doesn't like people in her training room unless she invites them. Which is rare," she added at the end. Jarreth looked at her confused. "Why is her training room in the attic of all places?" He asked, genuinely curious. Vixen shrugged. "I took the basement and made it my training room and bedroom," she said nonchalantly. Jarreth nodded and then made his way to the staircase.

He heard voices from the Den area of the house and peeked his head in there. He saw the men who made up Motionless In White, minus Ghost, some standing around a large, worn looking, green felt pool table, while the others were sitting on a couch in front of a large TV, playing video games. The only one who wasn't playing pool or games, was the bands guitarist Ricky Olson, who sat off to the side of the room, strumming his guitar and singing under his breath. He smiled slightly as he saw all of them somehow knowing they were all good friends with Vixen as well as Ravyn and her family. He nodded at that thought and then made his way up the stairs to his sister's training room.

He slammed open the door and sneered at the sight of his sister shoved up against a wall while Manson fucked her. Both were breathing hard and moaning in pleasure they shouldn't be having. He growled loudly, which got both of their attentions. Or maybe it had been the door slamming open. He didn't know and didn't care. "Jarreth?!" Faith gasped as she saw brother she hadn't seen in years. Jarreth nodded at her and then looked at Manson who was now trying to protect and hide his sister's indecentness from him. "I have no quarrel with you at the moment Manson, although you and I WILL have words later on. Right now I wish to only speak to Faith," he growled to the vampire. Manson snarled at Jarreth, showing his sharp and deadly fangs, but Faith put a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay Marilyn," she whispered to him. "He's my brother." Manson looked at her in surprise, then just nodded his head and zipped up her fly, seeing as he was still wearing his jeans, not wearing the t-shirt he grabbed off the bed, where he had tossed it earlier, and handing it to Faith. The t-shirt went down, covering her until it reached her thighs. "Are you going to be okay-"

"If you leave the room? Yes," Faith said finishing his question and answering it as well. "Don't worry about me, if I need you I'll call." Manson nodded at those words and then left the room, deliberately ramming his shoulder against Jarreth's and growling as he left the room. Faith looked at her brother in embarrassment and sadness. "It's been a long time little brother," she whispered as she started to make her way to her closet, grabbing a pair of faded blue jeans and tugging them on. Jarreth nodded at her. "It has. Mind telling me when exactly you started fucking VAMPIRES!" He sneered the word. Faith rolled her eyes. "I'm not telling you that brother. That is a TMI situation I don't plan on getting into with you," she said, going over to her brother and hugging him. Jarreth melted in that one moment, and hugged her back, her head only coming up to his shoulder. He sighed. "Why are you here anyways?" She asked curiously. Again he sighed. "I'm here to talk to you about Ravyn," he said, looking his sister in the eyes. Faith cocked her head to the side. "Why?" She asked, genuinely curious. "Because I'm her legal guardian." He said simply. Faith's eyes widened. "She never mentioned THAT little tidbit before," she growled slightly. Jarreth shrugged. "I don't think it ever came up now did it?" He asked. Faith shook her head. "All I really know about her is what she is, that her parents were murdered by Vegas and that she lived with her boyfriend-"

"Fiancee," Jarreth corrected her. Faith nodded. "Fiancee," she corrected. "and her two sisters and that she goes to Enochs. When I found that out and about all the Supernaturals that went there, I made her my ally and informant for the school." Jarreth nodded at this news. "I took Ravyn and the girls in after I saved them from Vegas the night her Dad and Step-Mom were murdered. She's a good Hunter and a good ally to have," he complimented, which Faith agreed to. "Very true. We've gotten a lot of information on the Supernaturals and some of the older ones plans from her, Angel, Dragon and Katerina," she complimented as well. Jarreth nodded. "I know. She tells me any information she finds out and I was the one who placed her in the school three years ago. She was till at the Elliot Alternative Education school when I had her transferred in her sophomore year. Angel too," he informed his sister who nodded. "Good choice," she said and Jarreth nodded in agreement. "So what is it about Ravyn you want to talk to me about?" Faith asked as she moved past him and started down the stairs, heading for the kitchen to find something to eat. She always got slightly hungry after she and Manson fucked. She got especially hungry after he fed from her, and although he hadn't got the chance to this time around, she was still hungry and also in need of a electrolight replenishment.

Jarreth followed her into the kitchen, where they found Vixen rummaging around in the cabinets, looking for some kind of food. She looked up when she heard Jarreth and Faith enter. She smirked. "Seeing as you still have all your body parts intact, I see that Faith didn't kill you when you interrupted Manson's feeding," she said as she continued her pursuit of finding food. Jarreth glared at his sister when Vixen let slip that Manson was feeding from her. Faith just rolled her eyes and grabbed a bottle of blue Gatorade from the fridge. She cracked open the bottle and looked at her brother. "Ravyn. Talking. Now preferably," she said taking a sip of her sink. Jarreth pulled out one of the abar stools that sat on the counter and sighed. "Why won't you let her fight on the battle that's going to be going on in Seattle?" He asked as Faith rummaged around in the fridge for a moment before pulling out a dish that held a concoction Vixen had made the other night called "taco pie". It was mostly just soft taco shells, layered with hamburger meat, enchilada sauce, cheese and corn. But when you made it you were able to top it with lettuce, tomatoes, and even fritos brand crunchy corn chips, the type of ones that were curved- and were kind of salty and really addicting- for a type of crunchy texture change from the softer, mushy like dish.

Faith pulled out a spatula from a butcher's block that held all types of black plastic cooking spoons, ladles, and spatula's on the sides and teak knives, larger knives, and a pair of black scissor sheers in the slots on the top of the block, and looked at her brother. Before she could answer him, Vixen cried out, and grabbed the dish from under her hands and smiled. "Aha! Perfect! Thanks for reminding me it was in there Faith!" She said as she dished a large portion of the pie like dish onto a plate and placing it in the microwave. Faith glared at her apprentice. Vixen shrugged. "Sorry, I kind of figured that pregnant women kinda were first in line and had first dibs on food and stuff," she said, speaking about Ravyn who had woken up a few minutes after Jarreth had gone looking for his sister, and who had woken up extremely hungry.

Faith sighed but nodded. "Your right," she said. "Ravyn should be first in line for food seeing as she's expecting a child-"

"Twins actually, according to Kitty and her visions at least," Vixen said, interrupting her mentor. Faith smiled but nodded. "I must congratulate her on her twins later then," she said in a loving kind of tone. Vixen nodded and pulled the plate of food out of the microwave when it beeped three times, telling her the food was ready. She quickly dug around in the fridge once more and pulled out the lettuce, sour cream and some diced tomatoes that were in a zip lock baggie, then went to a cabinet and pulled out the Fritos, crunching them up in her hand and spreading them over the lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes. She smiled at the two of them as she grabbed a fork out of one of the drawers and finally left the room. Faith turned back to her brother and answered his earlier question as she dished up her own plate of the pie, copying Vixen's movements from a few seconds ago after her own food had heated in the microwave. "That very comment, that Ravyn is pregnant, with twins no less, is the exact reason why I will not let her join the battle. That and she is way too young to be going off to battle," she said as she grabbed a fork and dug into her own food. Jarreth glared at his sister. "Do you have any idea who her parents were?" he asked her.

Faith shook her head and shrugged, not commenting as she had a mouth full of food. Jarreth continued to glare as he filled his sister in. "Her mother was Arabella McLeod-Darrow. She went by Arabella Garrison when she was married to Ravyn's father." Faith's fork clattered onto her plate as she heard the name. Arabella McLeod had been a famous Hunter, one written in History books as one of the greatest Hunters of all time, and her death had been tragic to the whole Hunter community. "Your not talking about the FAMOUS Hunter Arabella McLeod are you??" Faith squeaked. Jarreth nodded. "The very same who settled down for a time after she had a daughter named Ravyn," Jarreth added an emphasis when he said Ravyn's name. The history books that were written about Arabella had written about her marriage to the half-Vampire, half-Werewolf Keith Garrison, and how the only reason that Arabella hadn't been shunned because of her marriage was because Keith was on both the Vampire and Werewolf's High Councils and had made it important for both of the councils to know exactly who his wife was and that she was fully pardoned for any kills she made to either species. One thing Arabella had been famous for was working with both council's and helping to Hunt down Vampires and Werewolves that had broken council laws. Both Jarreth and Faith had trained themselves on the books and journals that Arabella had written and passed down to other, newer Hunters who would benefit from her teachings. It was one of the big reasons the brother and sister only went after Supernaturals who broke the council laws. Both Faith and Jarreth had grown up wanting to be like Arabella.

Faith stared at her brother as he continued with Arabella's story, even though Faith knew every bit of it. "Arabella took a leave of absence from her work to raise her only daughter, shortly after divorcing Keith Garrison when Ravyn was six months old. Ten years later, after continuing her Hunting when she felt Ravyn was old enough, she married a human by the name of James Darrow. Both of them settled down and went on to raise Ravyn together, Arabella retiring from Hunting and never telling James about her old job. Ravyn constantly rebelled against James, preferring her father over her step-father, and later her step-mother when Keith remarried a half-vampire named Selene Kirst. Selene already had two children. The very same two children who sit in your living room." Faith's eyes widened at that. Selene had also been a member of the Vampire High Council and the Vampire community's Ambassador of sorts, sitting in on the Werewolf High Council and taking any Vampire related things that happened within the Werewolf community. Faith had known that Selene had had two children from her first marriage to an abusive human husband who she escaped from with her children when her daughter Katerina was only two years old.

"I never knew," Faith whispered, continuing to eat her food. Jarreth nodded at her. "I figured," he said as he took his sister's fork from her hand and stole a bite of her food. His eyes closed in ecstasy as he tasted all the flovours of the food on his tongue. "Did you make this?" He asked. Faith shook her head. "Vixen did. You want some?" She asked, pointing to the dish of taco pie that still sat on the counter. "Yes, please," he added at the end. He was nothing if not a gentleman when it came to women, even his own sister. His parents, while the Hippie, flower child kind of people, had taught both him and Faith manners and to always use them. Faith had lost a little bit of that once they became Hunters but Jarreth never had.

Faith nodded and went to get a plate as she returned them to the topic at hand. "As I was saying, before your history lesson," she glared at him for that. Jarreth just rolled his eyes. "Whether Ravyn's parents were the famous Keith Garrison and Arabella McLeod, it still doesn't excuse Ravyn from me telling her she can't fight. She's pregnant and I am not going to be responsible for her if she loses her children," she told him as she topped her brother's food like she had. Jarreth rolled his eyes again as he dug into his own food, taking a drink of the Angry Orchard his sister handed him. "That's not really your call to make first off," he said as he took another bite. "It's mine. And second, do you even know how Vampire, Werewolf, and Shape-Shifter pregnancies go?" He asked, raising a brow at his sister. Faith shook her head as she finished off her own food and cleaned her plate off in the sink. Jarreth sighed. He was going to have to explain it.

"When a Werewolf, Vampire, or Shape-Shifter gets pregnant, their bodies form a type of magical barrier around the child, or children in Ravyn's case, and that magical barrier prevents the child from getting any human kind of ailments while the mother is pregnant with it or them. Again I'll use Ravyn as an example for you to get what I mean. Ravyn smokes. Both cigarettes and the medical marijuana she has for both the severe anxiety and PTSD she has had since she was fourteen years old. Both help her with these ailments. She also drinks. A lot I might add," something Jarreth had been trying to get her to tone down on for the past couple years now. "Now with Ravyn being pregnant, and if she was a normal human, she would have to give up her cigarettes, weed, and drinking. Fish too, and that would be something very hard for her to give up seeing as she loves it so much," Jarreth added as he explained. "Now, seeing as Ravyn is part Vampire, part Werewolf, and part Shape-shifter-"

"She is?" Faith asked, suprized. Jarreth nodded. "Her grandfather was a Shape-Shifter, but seeing as she is only part Shape-Shifter she, unlike her Grandfather, can only take one animal shape, instead of many. And before you ask, it's a fox," he added once more when Faith had opened her mouth to ask him what animal. Faith nodded and let her brother continue. "As I was saying, seeing as Ravyn is part Vampire, part Werewolf, and part Shape-shifter, the magical barrier I spoke of earlier is in triple place, seeing as she is three different species of Supernaturals, and each one forms their own barrier. Those kids are in no more danger than I am from going into this battle. And you know I can fight in it seeing as who and what I am always has given me the advantage," he said, taking another sip of his hard cider. Faith nodded, remembering how fast and skilled a Hunter he baby brother was. "Like I said, those kids are in no danger of anything. Even when the vampire and werewolf barriers grow thinner as she gets farther into her pregnancy, the Shape-Shifting one will stay strong and thick around the kids until about six months to a year after their births. Literally. Those kids won't get hurt for about a year, even if they fall down a flight of stairs or something when they go looking for their parents in the middle of the night," Jarreth looked pointedly at Faith when he mentioned this, knowing that she remembered the time their parents had told them that Faith had fallen down a flight of stairs one night when she had been two and had gone looking for their grandmother, who they had been living with for the first year of Faith's life.

Faith chuckled as she took a sip of her own drink, remembering the horrified look she had had on her face when her parents had told her the story. She shook her head. "I remember how you had clung to me every time we had to go down any stairs. You were so afraid that you were going to fall too that you wouldn't even go down the stairs unless I took you," she giggled at the memory while Jarreth rolled his eyes. "Oh shut up! I was four years old! And to be honest I was more terrified for YOU than myself! I was always so afraid you would fall again that I didn't want you going down the stairs alone!" He defended himself. Faith rolled her eyes and smiled. "Sure you were," she chuckled. Jarreth rolled his eyes as he finished his food. He got up from the bar stool and walked over to the sink, rinsing and washing his dish off.

Vixen came in in that moment and smiled at the two of them. "So Faith? Now that Jerr explained all the things about Ravyn and her past and about the Werewolf/Vampire/Shape-Shifter stuff- which none of us had known it would have been a triple barrier by the way, Ravyn was really reassured by that so thanks- what do you say about her joining the fight?" She asked as she rinsed and washed of Ravyn's dish before pulling out a cinnful cider flavoured Angry Orchard for herself. She raised a brow at Faith, waiting for her answer. Faith sighed. "I know you can hear me Ravyn, with your sensitive hearing and all," she said, raising her voice slightly so she could be fully heard. "And while I still don't like the thought of you going into battle in your condition, Jarreth is right. It is HIS decision as your Guardian and I can't really fight that. You win. You can come." They heard a very faint "YES!" from behind the basement door, alerting Faith that Ravyn and the others were down there.

Vixen and Jarreth smiled at Faith. "Thanks Faith, I think you just made her day," she said hugging her mentor. She then walked out of the kitchen and down to the basement where she and Ravyn had planned to train with the others.

Jarreth smiled down at his older sister and hugged her as well. "Your making the right choice Faith," he whispered into her hair as he hugged her. "Ravyn is going to be one of the biggest allies you could have in this fight." Faith nodded as her brother released her. "I hope so," was all she said before she left the kitchen, heading for her own training room.

Notes

Author's Note:

Before ya'll ask, the whole story of Faith falling down a flight of stairs when she was two, was actually something I did when I was two years old. Lmao. My mom and I had just moved into a two story place with one of her friends and I wasn't used to not living with my Nana and Papa, so one night- this is all according to my Mom I don't remember any of this being only two at the time it happened and all- Anyways, so one night, I somehow got out of my crib and crawled out of my room, looking for my Nana and Papa's room, which had originally been next to me and my Mom's when we were living there. My guess is that I couldn't find it so I had planned to go into the living room and try to find her there, when I ended up feeling air instead of carpet or tile that would lead me to the living room. Of course by "air" I mean the fact that the steps had started there. And with that said, I tumbled head over heels down the steps and slammed into the wall at the bottom of the other end of the stairs. My Mom can running down the stairs when she heard the loud "THUD" my head had made when I hit the wall. The funny thing? I didn't start crying and screaming until AFTER my Mom picked me up to make sure I was okay. Now a days I still laugh when she brings up that night. I dunno WHY I laugh, I just do. Probably cause Mom tells me about all the fear she felt when it all happened lol.

Anyways, the Vampire/Werewolf/Shape-Shifter pregnancy shit that Jarreth explained was all thought up in my head and I don't really know nor think that any of it is truly REAL or anything lol.

As for Ravyn and Angel having twins? I based that off of my fiancee's two kids that he had with his ex-wife. They are twins and most likely I'll name them William Alexander Kerr (Liam's real name is William Willard Wood...Willard was the name my Fiancee's ex-wife pushed him for, although I have NO IDEA as to why she would pick the name of a guy from the movie that was friends with a bunch of rats. At least that's what I think of when I hear the name! Lol). Anyways, it's going to be a boy and girl just like my Fiancee's twins and more than likely I'll name them William Alexander Kerr (first born just like the real William lol), and Novaleigh (pronounced Nova-LEE) Rose Kerr (real name Novaleigh Ruby Wood, which while I like that name just fine, I chose Rose to symbolize and honor my deceased niece Isabella who I wrote about last chapter).

Anyways, I'm on a roll it seems so I'm gonna start in on Chapter Thirty-One after I post this! Man I can't believe I actually MADE IT to Thirty Chapters! I'm so proud of myself! I normally only make it to like 18 or 19 chapters before I lose all my inspiration for a story and all that, but I have a really good outline in my head for this story and while sometimes my inspiration bug stops biting for a bit and I can't figure out WHAT to write for a time, I always get it back in the end and am able to write once more! So yeah, YAY ME!!! Lmao.

So...OFF TO CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE I GO!!! Haha.

Until next time guys! See you on the other side and Blessed Be!
