Chapter 5

Andy P.O.V
*Time skip to Friday*

Friday morning. I feel like shit, and I don't want to go to school. Actually, I never want to go to fucking school. But I kind of like tutoring with Anon, she seems different. Not that typical girl who wants three things. Sex, money, and compliments. I got up out of my bed and changed into some shredded black leather skinny jeans with a Pearl Jam tank top with holes in it. I put my nose ring back in and went to the bathroom. I combed my hair and made sexy faces in the mirror.

I walked out and grabbed a leftover taco my dad bought from Taco Bell. I walked into the living room still eating it. "Hey Andy." My dad said while sitting and watching the news. "Hey dad." I said with my mouth full. "So uh...how's uh tutoring?" He asked me. I shrugged. "I mean, I hate it but I don't. If I had any other tutor I would flip a lid." I said and sat down next to him. "Oh really? Who's your tutor?" He asked. "Anon Hill. She is helpful and I need to thank her because I've gotten B's and higher on my homework." I said. My dad smiled. "Anyway, I got to go. See ya later pops." I said and hugged him. Then I left and got in my mustang to head to school.

I pulled up and sat back for a moment thinking. Hallie was throwing her party tonight and I don't feel like going. I wanna sleep and hang out with the guys. I got out of my car and ran into Anon as I walked in the halls. "Oh hey Anon." I said and smiled at her. She looked at the ground. "I wanted to thank- are you okay?" I asked her. I saw a tiny tear slip down her face. "Anon please answer me." I said and awkwardly wiped the tear away from her face. "Please Andy, just don't." She said. "Anon, you are going to tell me one way or another. I will find out." I said and walked to my other class. I looked back at her and she was looking back at me with the grim look of agony on her face. I wanted to see her happy smile.

Anon P.O.V

I looked back at Andy who was looking at me. I didn't want to tell him. It had nothing to do with him. It was between my mother, me, and alcohol. I wiped my face and headed to my first class. "Hey loser! Are you coming to my party tonight? Or do you have 'better' things to do." Hallie said emphasizing the word better. "I have much better things to do than go to your dumb ass party." I said and looked at her. She just laughed. "Yeah right." She said and flipped her hair. "You know what, I'll go to your damn party. Because darlin', it ain't gonna be a good party until I'm there." I said and smiled. I sat down in my seat and it was silent. Then Ms.Carl walked in and started her lesson.

Fifth period ended and I was on my way to lunch. Andy ran up behind me. He grabbed my elbow. "Anon, can I talk to you?" He asked me. I shrugged. Then he took my arm and led me to the gym. "Anon please, just please tell me what was wrong this morning." He said and looked at me with his innocent baby blue eyes. "Nothing." I said and looked at my feet. "You're lying to me." He said. "I know." I responded. "Then tell me!" He said harshly. "Look Andy, thanks for caring and all but I don't need your pity." I said and stormed out of the gym. I went into the lunchroom and grabbed my binder. "Hey! Where are you going?" Trix said standing up. "Home." I replied. "But you can't..we still have 3 more classes." She said confusingly. "Watch me." I said and walked out of the school. I got into my car and drove away. I wasn't exactly sure where I was going, but I was driving. Far away from here. Eventually o realized I had been driving for over 2 hours jamming out to 3 doors down. I stopped onto the side of the road. I pulled out my phone to check where I was. I was in Columbus. "Oh shit." I said out loud. I quickly called Evan.
"Hey! Ready for the party tonight?"

"Umm about that.."
"You're not bailing on me."

"No it's just, pick me up at 8 instead of 6."
"Why?"

"I kind of mindlessly drove to Columbus."

"Wow Anon. Just wow."

"Shut up! Anyway, see you at 8."

"Yeah, can't wait to see that sexy outfit." He said and hung up. Dumbass.

@anathema

I do get allowed an outside break once a week.

@LittleWingedWixie
My support to you. i hope they let you go outside, you need vitamin d to stay healthy and it's good for your mental health too. At least 15 minutes a day. If they don't, ask for a vitamin supplement. message me if you want to talk at any point and are able.

@anathema

In sheer luck, I am allowed breaks now.

@anathema

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure when I will be able to speak to her. Being as her parents are extremely crude and hateful, it may not be for a while.

As someone who has been institutionalized, when I was a minor, twice, please give her my support. If she wants to talk about it when she gets out, let her know I'm here for her, I am a good listener. I'm 34 now, and I was, I think, 16/17 then, and the place I was has since been closed, so it's been a while, but I have some grasp. A lot of people might think it's like in 'girl interrupted' and not realize the author of that book, which I read, and was good, but she was hospitalized during Vietnam, it was very different, just as I'm sure my experience in the late 90s was different from now.

anyway, sorry for long comment, but this hits very close to home. If you want to discuss this in depth feel free to message me. I'm not shy about it but I don't really want to go into detail here because some people glamorize mental illness, or put it in a positive light, and I don't want to do that, you know? (As in discussing the details of why I was there or how sick I was and develop any comparisons with others, I don't like that, does that make any sense?)

i I just wanted to write something personal to let both of you know you have my most profound support from the heart. Never give in, never back down, never give up.
