You Were Always Mine

"-And in this most difficult time I ask that the BVB army stick together. I must warn you though that our chances of finding him alive after 5 days are very slim. I am working hard with the French police to keep you informed. Any questions?" Andy asked, finishing his speech.
The press erupted into chatter.

He stepped off the podium, smiling and waving. A small redheaded girl pulled him aside.
"Oh, hi, I'm guessing you want an autograph?" He offered.
"On the contrary, I am Genieve Barnette, assistant to Sophia Melande, chief of the Parisian police force." She snapped with a sigh.
"Oh. Hello. You're my liason?" Andy checked.
"Yes. We have some new developments and we need someone to make a positive identification."
"Sure!" She had his interest.

He followed her quick clicking stilettos and flash of orange hair at a jog.
"In here." She pointed to forensics.
Andy swallowed the lump in his throat and went in.
"Is this Mr Furgeson's wedding ring?" She was right to the point.
Andy studied it momentarily. "I-I-I think so."
Genieve glanced at the Forensic Technician. "Gerard, we have a crime scene."
"Wait, what?" Andy fumbled.
"We may have found the street where your friend was taken. This gives us a relative search radius. There will be a car waiting outside. Get in it. Do not talk to the press until we have more." Genieve ordered.
"Of course." He agreed.
Genieve returned to her work and Andy immediately phoned Ashley. No answer. He was probably passed out drunk somewhere.
"Hey, CC, the police have a lead on Jinxx. Tell the others. And I can't reach Ash." He said into the phone as he left the building.
He was about to get in the car when a redheaded girl screamed "Get down!" And dragged him to the floor before the barrage of bullets exploded through the metal.
