You Were Always Mine

Chapter 2

Genieve admired herself in the rear view mirror. Her emerald eyes fixing on her own in the mirror as she flicked some of her scarlet waves behind her ear.
Her impractical stilettos clicked against the concrete as she joined the busy Parisian street from the secluded dark alley where she had parked.
A group of guys whistled as she strolled past and she reveled in the attention, slowing down so they could admire her bare legs beneath her short-shorts. She enjoyed the male attention whilst she could, knowing her older brother hated boys looking at her.
She then jogged the remaining distance to La Gare Du Nord.
She liked the station. She placed herself down on a bench, craning her neck to try and spot her brother.
Daved strolled, quickly yet calmly, towards her. He didn't break stride as she jumped to join him.
"You have him?" She asked.
"Of course." He snapped.
"Should I engage? You will look suspicious considering he has already seen you." She whispered covertly.
"Okay. Where are you parked?"
"The alley by GarcĂa's restaurant."
He stopped and glared, grabbing her wrist and dragging her to the side. "Seriously?"
She nodded.
"You stupid girl!" He barked and clipped her ear.
Her eyes blazed like a furious forest fire. "Perhaps you should park next time!" She snapped with a slight sniff as she wiped away a tear.
His eyes softened. "I'm sorry, I'm just concerned about how we will get him there unnoticed."
She shook him off and rejoined the stream of people.
She jogged up the stairs onto the street, her brother rushing after her - how can she run in those shoes? He asked himself.
The crowd dispersed onto the wider street. Free of the crush of bodies, Genieve wandered to the side and stopped. Her brother joined her, panting like a dog. She shook her head at how grotesquely unfit her sibling was.
"Tracker." She said, holding her hand out.
He passed her a device that looked like a Windows Phone, but instead of having apps, it had a map of the city streets.
Towards the bottom of the screen, near La Gare Du Nord, a green dot flashed.
Towards the top, a red dot flashed on the Market Street.
Genieve took several papers from her brother's satchel.
"Go wait by the van." She ordered before storming off.
With a sigh Daved ambled back the way he came, towards where he knew his sister would have parked.

Genieve gazed at her brother's 'phone' screen. Her blue dot was next to Jinxx's red dot. She looked about.
He was sat at a table outside a cafe, drinking a coffee and chewing a croissant. Now to wait.

5 minutes later, he stood up. Her chance.
