An Angels Last Fall

Make the Bass Drop: Part 1

http://www.polyvore.com/me_right_now/set?id=138023368
Juliet came into my room early this morning, or was it late afternoon? My sleep was not letting me comprehend anything. She patted my bed several times until I finally lifted my head to see what she wanted. Sleep had gotten the better of me last night after almost a week of not being able to sleep.

Juliet gave me a look of disgust almost and grabbed something from her room and came back. She told me to turn around and I felt her tugging on my hair. I expressed some pain she gave me and then she sat on the end of my bed. I put a hand up to the back of my head to feel that she had tugged it back into a ball of hair with a cotton band thing. I narrowed my eye brows and looked at the box she was handing me.

“I thought that since you’re going to be living here for a while there should be a way we could get in touch and also maybe you could further your social skills.” She smiled.

I took the box with caution and took the top of it off. “What is it?” I asked seeing a phone thing.

“It’s an older phone I had a while ago. I already paid for it and set it up already!” She smiled. “Have fun!” She wiggled her fingers at me while she left my room.

I lifted it out of the box and examined it. I continued to touch the front of it, which was all glass with one button on the bottom and three buttons on the side. I pressed the button and it lit up. It startled me at first. I continued to stare at the picture on the front. I was a picture of the man in black. I sneered and got out of bed to ask Juliet to change it. It was hard for me to stop thinking of him as it was. It was going to be even harder if I had to look at him every time I turned the phone on.

I looked in the long mirror that was facing the bed. I still looked the same. Tired. My essence was week. My wings were gone. And my halo was in pieces. I wondered if anyone could see that I wasn’t from here. I pushed the thought away and walked to the living room.

I sat next to Juliet and handed her the phone. “Could you change the background picture?” I asked.

“Of course!” She said. She took the phone and moved too fast for me to see and then handed it back to me with a smile. “Go get ready for the day babe. We’re going out.” She gave me a smile that worried me.

What did out mean? Who were we going with? What did out mean?! I gave her a smile back and walked to my room. I picked out a pair of pants and a shirt from my closet and walked into the bathroom.

I starred at myself in the mirror while the water was running. I ran a hand over my bare chest. Never had I lusted before. But something about this body made me feel confidant. It was hard to explain. I sighed and stepped into the shower. I got dressed while still in the bathroom and walked barefoot into my room. I never closed my door but Juliet always came by and did it for me no matter what I was doing. She said it made her feel safe to have her door closed so she thought she would extend the courtesy. I thought that is was a nice gesture and hoped one day I would be able to remember on my own so she did not have to go out of her way to make me feel safe.

I pulled out a pair of shoes Juliet had bought me while she was in town yesterday. They were a little much for me but I thought that I needed to wear them to make her happy. I ran my hand through my hair and looked into the mirror thinking that maybe just a tank top would show too much. Juliet liked the tank top only combo but last time I almost took her advice she was going to make me look like a sinner. http://www.polyvore.com/simple_work_day/set?id=137862133 I found a black jacket and slipped it over the shirt. I smiled looking in the mirror.

“Ready hun?” Juliet asked standing in the door way. Right when I was about to answer her her phone rang and she answered it fast. “I don’t do that anymore.” She said calmly. “Okay, listen. I told everyone there that this…” She paused to make a circle with her free hand. “Is done.” She sighed and walked away. For another minute all I heard was inaudible yelling.

“What was that?" I asked when I heard her finally stop yelling.

“I quit the music business and some people aren’t letting me.” She made a stressed noise and threw her phone in her purse. “I need a drink.” She put her hand out for me to take. “What do you say?”
