An Angels Last Fall

Make the Bass Drop: Part 2

After walking around the city for a few hours and more awkward interactions, as Juliet calls them. It was nearing sundown and Juliet still had not gotten her drink that she was talking about. I expected her to walk in every café we passed. When she had passed over 5 I questioned her.

“What drink do you want? Were those stores limited?” I asked.

“They don’t have what I want, Key.” I sighed fearing if she meant something…strong.

“That’s not my name.” I said.

“To me it is.” She looked back at me.

She finally stopped in front of a small building with loud music coming from inside and bright lights littered the outside as well as seeping from the inside. She went up to the man with large muscles in the front. Juliet went up to him and whispered something in his ear. He seemed to freeze up but moved aside from the door. Looking at her in curiosity she motioned for me to follow her.

I passed the man slowly. I looked into his eyes to see that they were not normal. I snapped out of my caution and walked in with Juliet. The music was much louder inside. I almost felt like covering up my ears with my hands. I flinched away from anyone who passed by. It smelled of beer and something foul. I wrinkled up my nose all the while Juliet was already dancing on a man wanting to me come over to her.

The men were grabbing woman in places that should only be discovered by a husband and the women were dancing on two or more men. It made me want to cry out to Heaven to show these people the right. They needed God. I couldn’t stand it any longer. I shook my head and let out of the door that I went in. I sat on the side walk for hours. Waiting until Juliet had gotten her drink. It was taking longer than one would think.

I was drifting off to sleep with my head in my hands. I was disturbed when a women almost tripped over me. She laughed like nothing had happened and continued to stumble into the street. No car was crossing at the moment so I was not alarmed. I continued to watch her fall to the pavement and I looked around to see if anyone was going to help her up.

She attempted to get up once but then gave up. I groaned and walked into the street to help her out of the street. When I was about to walk to her I heard a car coming down the street fast. It had no intention of stopping.

My heart started racing and every bone in my body called out to the Father to save this girl. When the car still was not coming to a slow I ran out in front of her and put my hand in front of the car.

“Stop!” I screamed.

It came to a sudden halt inches in front of my fingers. There was a teenage girl with her phone in her hands. Her face was white as snow. She rushed out of the car and proceeded to ask if I was okay.

“Go call your mother.” I said walking toward the club.

I took a deep breath and held up my hands. That girl in the car did not stop. That was me. My essence never left.
