An Angels Last Fall

It was grocery day, Andy and Ashley had to plan for their tour so they gave me a list and their credit card. When I had successfully bought everything that was asked of me, Rich, one of their sound techs, helped me put everything in his car. With still not being able to drive it made transportation difficult. But even if I was able to drive Andy was afraid of my driving and would never let me use his car to even go to the grocery store.
“That everything?” Rich asked, holding out his arms.
I nodded, “I think so, I didn’t drop anything.” I looked behind me and Rich chuckled.
I wondered what I had said and got in the passenger seat as he started the car. Rich kept glancing at me then finally tapped on my knee with enthusiasm. “You and Andy huh?!”
I looked to him curious, “what do you mean?”
He gave me a stressed look then looked back to the road. “He likes the fuck out of you, girl. And from just the mention of his name you blushed.” He glanced to me quickly and smirked.
I turned away from him, finally feeling the heat in my cheeks. After some silence I finally spoke up. “I just don’t think I belong in this kind of world.”
“What?!” Rich nearly gave me whip lash from how hard he stepped on the breaks. We were now in our neighborhood and no cars were behind us. He turned his body to stare at me. I kept my body forward but looked at him in turn. “Seeing you at the studio with him it’s fucking obvious, Key.”
“How? We haven’t even talked about what we are, I mean the last thing I knew we were friends.” I looked down at my hands and played with my thumbs. I was told to watch New Girl by CC and it had given me a little bit of insight.
He smirked at me then took my hand. “Friends don’t look at each other that way, the last time I saw him look at a girl that was with Juliet, he was head over heels for her and when she broke his heart I swear to god I never thought he would love anybody like he loved her but I was wrong. If anything he loves you more than he ever loved her.”
“I’ve known him for 3 months, he was with Juliet for 4 years.” I knew that much from watching over people, people don’t fall deeply in love that quickly.
Rich shook his head, “talk to Jinxx, or Ashley, fuck talk to any of them. They will tell you exactly what I just said if you don’t believe me. And if they don’t even convince you, talk to Andy.”
Rich put his car in drive again when another car honked at us. No one was home when we had put all the groceries inside.
“Thank you,” I turned to Rich as he was leaving.
“I’m serious, girl.” He put his hands in his front pockets. “Don’t lose Andy ‘cause you don’t think he likes you. He’s a really good guy that will treat you like a queen, but if you wait too long he’s not gonna be there.” I didn’t respond, I only lowered my head. “See ya, Key.”
After I had put everything in its place I sat on the couch and stared at the blank TV. When the sun had went down Andy and Ashley came through the door laughing.
“You look so grim.” Andy said walking into the kitchen to grab a beer out of the fridge. It was then that I had realized that I had not moved for 3 hours. Andy plopped himself next to me and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. “Ashley wants to go to a club tonight, you up for it?”
I looked to Ashley who was nodding his head so fast I thought it was going to fall off. I giggled and shook my head, “after a bad experience at a club with Juliet I realized clubs aren’t really my thing.”
Andy groaned and wiggled himself into my lap so his torso was on my lap and his head hung off of the couch. “Come on! Please? It will be fun, I promise.” He sat up and got on his knees in front of me. He took one of my hands and got serious. “Will you, Ciarra, go to a club with Ashley and I?”
I laughed along with Ashley and finally agreed. “But I’m not drinking!” I had to clarify that before we left.
“No problem, babe.” Andy kissed my cheek and started the car, Ashley was in the back seat and let me have the passenger side. “I’ll drink for you.” We all laughed and started our journey.
