An Angels Last Fall

Safty

It was chilly outside. I desperately wanted to go to my bed and fall asleep in the warmth of the sheets but I didn’t want to leave Andy’s side. He laughed with all the guys and they told scary stories until Ashley couldn’t handle it.

“Come on guys they’re just getting cheesy now!” Ashley groaned, putting another marshmallow on the roasting stick.

“I haven’t heard you tell one in a while.” CC declared while attempting to push Ashley off of his chair.

“That’s because I don’t tell cheesy stories and they got cheesy after the first two I told.” Ashley tried to save his honor.

“What?!” Jake yelled. “You are always telling cheesy stories don’t even start with me right now.” He laughed.

“Like what?!” Ashley retaliated.

While the arguing amongst the boys continued Andy offered a s’more he had fixed some time ago but never ate. “I can’t take another bite.” He admitted while holding onto his stomach.

I smiled and shook my head, declining the offer. “I think I had more than you.” I admitted.

Andy looked to the side then smiled. “You did didn’t you?” He laughed and set the s’more on the table next to him. “You look freezing, come here.” Andy opened his arms, motioning for me to sit on his lap.

That offer, I did take. He wrapped his arms around my waist after attempting to cover my arms with his jacket and I laid my head on his shoulder. I was a little warmer, and I definitely did not want to go to bed now. Andy rested his head on mine and sighed.

I saw Jinxx glance at me and give the smallest smile. Something with him didn’t sit right with me but I was happy to finally see him smile at me.

The laughing and talking continued for another good 2 hours before Jake admitted to being tired, Jinxx confessed as well and decided to head home.

“CC.” Andy said when he was about to close the sliding door behind him to walk Jake and Jinxx to their car.

CC looked to Andy, a s’more just about to enter his mouth. “What?”

“Go home, dude.” Andy chuckled.

CC groaned and set the s’more on the floor and followed Andy to the front door. I stayed outside with Ashley for a little while to pick up the s’more makings. When I went into the kitchen to put the chocolate in the fridge Andy came up to me and kissed my cheek.

“I’m gonna go to bed, want to watch Netflix on my laptop for a little bit?” He leaned back against the counter and smiled at me.

Ashley said his goodnights and went up the stairs while I was trying to figure out what Andy meant. “Like, in your bed?” I had to clarify.

He nodded before he answered with a “yeah.” After a few seconds of silence on my part Andy held out his hands to me. “I mean that is if you want to, we can do it on the couch or in your room or whatever you want.” He spoke fast, which he did when he was nervous.

I giggled and kissed Andy’s cheek. “I’m actually really tired. I’m going to go to bed, Maybe another night?” I shrugged my shoulders.

Andy looked down then back at me and nodded. He wrapped his arms around my waist and brought me close to him. “We do have the rest of our lives don’t we?” He kissed my lips and released me from the hug.

“Goodnight, Andy.” I smiled to him as I stepped onto the stairs.

“Goodnight, Ciarra.” His tone was soft, almost sad.

I didn’t want to look back, knowing that if I did I would regret my decision and take up his offer. But I was still an Angel, a fallen one, maybe but I had my morals in my heart still. Sleeping next to a man who already drove me to temptations was dangerous and I would never take that chance with Andy. I was already breaking my rules, I couldn’t go that far.

As I crawled into bed the thoughts ran through my head like a roaring river. The more I thought the more I regretted what I had done.

“Please tell me what to do, Father.” I cried in the darkness. “I know I disobeyed you but I need your help. I fear of loving him, I fear I already love him…” I couldn’t stop myself from saying those words. “Am I not an Angel?!” I asked after hearing silence. “Do you no longer care for me or love me?”

With questions running through my head the only thing I could think of was leaving Andy all together. I turned onto my side to stare out of the window. Through all of the thoughts I had, I felt my eyes growing heavy, before I knew it I was asleep…no, this was not sleep…

I was in the street, the sky was dark, and blood ran through the streets. Bodies were lying on the sidewalks. I stood alone under the only street light. I looked down at my hands to see them covered in blood. I did not panic or worry, instead I looked to my left to see our house. The front door was open and I walked up the porch and stepped inside. It was quiet, Ashley sat on the couch with his throat slit.

For some reason it did not phase me and I continued up the stairs. I slid my hands on the hallway walls, blood smearing across the white walls. I was curious but not alarmed when I stopped in front of Andy’s bedroom door.

Like the front door, it was slightly opened. I placed an index finger on the door handle and opened it more. Blood dripped from the walls, his black bed was now crimson. Andy sat in the corner, blood dripping from his neck and chest.

He stared at me and stuttered something I could not understand. I walked closer to him, still not phased from this sight. I knelt down beside him and placed my ear by his mouth.

“You did this.” He whispered and grabbed my neck with a sticky hand.

I grabbed onto his hand, the emotions from what I was seeing now rushing to me. I cried for help, for him to stop. He stood to his feet, lifting my feet off the floor as he held onto my neck. I gasped for air as he smirked at me. Blood covered his teeth.

“You think your god can save you now?! He abandoned you, Ciarra!” His voice was harsh, deep, it wasn’t his voice.

“Andy…” I tried to get out. “This isn’t you…” I was losing consciousness.

Andy’s smirk faded and became a snarl, his expression continued to change as his eyes went from a dark blue to a light blue. Andy seemed to snap out of it and looked horrified at what he was seeing.

He dropped me to the floor and began screaming. “What’s happening?! Ciarra help me! Ciarra please!” He gripped his stomach and began coughing blood.

I ran to his side after I had caught my breath and held him up as blood sprayed from his mouth. Andy looked to me, blood dripping from the corners of his mouth. “Don’t let her win…”

I sat up, tears running down my face, I threw back the covers to find no blood. I was sweating and panting. I covered my face with my hands and balled. I gripped my chest, feeling my heart shatter. That was no nightmare, that was a vision, curtsey of Lucifer.

Once I had caught my breath I ran out of my room and found myself in front of Andy’s door. A small light flickered under the door which indicated that he might be awake. I took a deep breath and knocked on his door. The flickering stopped and soft footsteps made their way to the door. It opened slightly to Andy dressed in only sweat pants.

“Is everything alright?” His expression was worried. By the way I felt inside I knew that my expression must have been filled with fear. I shook my head and let out a few tears. Andy immediately embraced me in a tight hug. “Hey, shh, it’s alright, I’m right here.” He stroked my hair and kissed the top of my head. I buried my face into his bare chest and sobbed. “What happened?” He pulled me away just enough to see my face.

I wiped away my tears and took a breath. “Can I stay with you tonight?” I asked, looking into those eyes that made me feel like heaven was, in fact, on earth.

“Of course.” He said placing his hand on my lower back, leading me into his room, closing his door behind him. He quickly threw his boxers off of the end of his bed and into a basket and patted the edge of his bed. I sat crisscrossed on his bed, a few tears still filling my eyes. Andy rushed over to the other side of the bed and held me close to him. “Do you want to talk about it or…?” His voice was soft and concerned.

I shook my head and rested my head harder on his shoulder. “I just want to lay here with you.”

Andy pushed me away and lifted the covers for me to get inside. I laid my head on the pillow and he laid next to me. I rested a hand and my head on his chest and his arms wrapped around my shoulders.

“You’re safe here okay?” He said.

I nodded and let a tear fall to his skin. I had never felt so safe in my entire existence.
