Love-Hate

Chapter one

I look out the window of the airplane and my eyes landed over the city of Los Angeles and in my heart I knew I was home but my mind dearly missed Chicago because over the span of five years it became my home but now I was back to where I belonged in Los Angeles, California.
The seat belt sign blinked on and so did the turn off your electronics sign as well. I turned off my cellphone and my laptop because I don't want to die, even though I admit it this would be a good place to die but there was children on here who have yet to live their lives.
I fastened my seatbelt and waited for landing, I hated when it landed it felt as if the plane would break to pieces but I have done this plenty of times to know a plane can take it.
"May I take your tray and glass of water miss?" One of the flight attendants said smiling down at me.
"Yeah for sure." I picked up the tray and handed it to her.
"Thank you and I hoped you had a comfortable flight." She said and walked away. I closed my eyes and clung onto my seat for dear life because the worse part comes next.
One of the reasons I was moving back to L.A so I could pursue my dreams of being a photographer or even to own a salon of my own one day.
I felt the plane touch the ground and it started to shake. Dear god I hated this part so much, I closed my eyes tightly and gripped my hands to my chair but after the plane slowed down my grip loosened and my eyes opened as we were coming to a stop.
I felt a little jet legged even though it wasn't that far to travel but I don't do it every day it's been like seven months since that last time I went in a plane?
"This is your captain speaking, we have now landed and I hope you had a great flight."
People started to get up and collect their carry ons while I on the other hand waited for the man who was sitting next to me to get his things, he even gave me my bag which I said a quick thank you and put my laptop carefully in it and placed my phone in my other bag.
Slowly the plane got more clear as people were leaving to go into the airport then it was my turn. I made sure I had everything until I officially left the plane.
As I descended the plane I seen Lindsay right away as she had one of the biggest signs that had black markings on it that read 'WELCOME HOME CAT'
I smiled and went down the stairs dodging the people left and right until I flew into Lindsay's arms squealing.
"I missed you so much!" Lindsay said jumping up and down with me.
"I missed you so much too!" I replied and we let go.
"Wow you look good Lin! I love your hair." I said picking up a strand of her purple hair.
"You look great Cat. What do you mean I look great? Look at you. Your bangs are just the cutest things. When did you get those done?" She asked smiling.
"Do you not follow me on Instagram?" I asked faking a pout.
"I didn't even know you had an Instagram girl! Well let's go get your luggage?" She said and took my hand leading me towards the place where people were picking up their bags.
I seen my royal blue suitcases and checked to see my name and sure enough they were mine. I brought four suitcases and plus my two carry ons.
"What did you pack? The whole freaking Chicago?" Lindsay said picking up one.
"Almost. I just couldn't get that one building to fit in." I shrug picking up my biggest one and setting it on the ground to retrieve my last one.
When I looked up Lindsay was smiling at me.
"What?" I asked.
"I just missed you so much." She sighed and hugged me.
"I missed you too Lin. Now let's go back to your house so we can talk properly." She put one finger up looking at me.
"It's our house, our home." Then I followed her out of the airport.
"So where is the bastard, I mean Pete." I smirked at her as she rolled her eyes.
"He's on tour, he gets back tomorrow." She said unlocking the minivan and opening the trunk.
"Oh right. He's a guitar tech. By the way you never told me for who." I said tossing my bag into the truck.
"Oh trust me. This band that he's with will be a good surprise. The last show is tomorrow here and we're invited to it and the after party." She told me grimacing.
I nodded and we both got in her van, why did she seem like she was going to be sick after she told me we were invited to the concert?
It couldn't be him right? Of course not. He probably just moved on from his dream and is working in an office somewhere but then again he did seem determined when he spoke to me about it.
The ride there was quiet, well we were quiet but the radio was playing or a CD.
"I never meant to be the one who kept you from the dark." The way the singer sang that part gave me chills, and sent goosebumps all over my body.
I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stick up but I pushed the chilling feeling aside and went on listening to the music.
"What do you think of this singer?" Lindsay asked me.
"I like the way his voice sounds and this song is really good." I told her smiling.
"This song is called Saviour." She told me. "It's by Black Veil Brides. Have you ever heard of them?" She asked me cautiously.
I thought about it, Black Veil Brides I heard that name somewhere but I couldn't place my finger on it.
"Not that I know of." I said shrugging and she let out a sigh of relief I wanted to ask about them but I just dropped it and went on listening to the song.
I grabbed my phone and turned it on. While I was waiting for it to turn on I asked Lindsay a brave question.
"Have you ever seen Andrew? I mean like after high school?"
"I see him around sometimes but not much has changed I guess." She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. I gulped.
"So that mean he still lives in Los Angeles?" "I'm pretty sure."
"Well okay." I looked back at my phone and looked down to see I had a message from my mom.
Mama: Did you arrive to la yet?
Me: Yeah not to long ago. Lindsay picked me up.

I set my phone on my lap and opened my window. Smelling the air of Los Angeles, it smelt salty and like KFC one because we just drove pass one.
My stomach grumbled and Lindsay glanced at me with an amused look.
"I'm hungry." I said even though I probably ate half of the planes food, I can't help it I get nervous when I fly. If we were meant to fly the man upstairs would've granted us wings.
"Do you want to pull over to grab something quick to eat?" She asked.
"Yes please. I'm feeling- MCDONALDS!" I shouted seeing the sign from a mile away.
"Okay hawk eyes." She said chuckling and switching lanes. I was partially bouncing out of my seat, I missed the taste of their fries even though I had some before I boarded this morning and I've been craving ever since. I'm a fat kid sue me!
"So Lindsay when is baby number 2 coming?" I asked. I maybe forgot to mention but Lindsay and Pete had a baby and they named the little precious Maddison Faye Bruins and I have yet to meet her properly since she now is three years old.
"As far as I'm concerned baby number two is still swimming in his daddy's ball sack." She told me, I gave her a disgusted look.
"Keep the dirty talk to the bedroom please." I said as we pulled up to the drive thru.
"Oh shush. You're lucky I'm acting like a saint." She said rolling down her window.
"Hello, what can I get for you today?" A girl said through the speaker.
"Can I get a double Big Mac with super size fries?" I asked. "And a diet coke." I added winking at Lindsay. "Wouldn't want to get fat." She rolled her eyes.
"Alright is that all?" The lady asked. I nudged Lindsay who cleared her throat.
"Can I get the same but a non diet coke and a kids meal? A plain burger with ketchup." She said to the person who's listening intentionally.
"Okay. Is that for a girl or boy? The kids meal." "Girl." I said in a kiddy voice.
"Okay that'll be $32.50 at the window." She said and Lindsay put the vehicle in drive.
"Really a diet coke?" Lindsay said as we waited for the people in front of us.
"Hey! I'm not on a diet but I happen to love diet coke thank you very much. And I'm paying." I told her knowing she'd want to pay for her meals.
"Ugh fine. You are the worst." She said sighing.
"Actually I'm the best Lin. You love me." I winked as we pulled up to the window.
"Okay that'll be $32.50." The teenager said smiling. I took out two twenty's and handed it to him. I read his name tag.
"Josh? As in Josh Belanger?" I said gasping with excitement.
"Yeah that's me-wait is that you Kitty? Oh my god it's been so long how are you?" He said handing me the change which I put in the cup holder.
"It really has Joshy. I've been good and you?" I asked ignoring the looks Lindsay was tossing me.
A co-worker gave Josh our food and he handed it to us.
"I've been good. See you around Kitty." He grinned.
"This won't be the last time you see me! I know where you work." I said pointing at him while we drove away.
"Who the hell was that?" Lindsay said as we pulled back onto main road.
"That was Joshy! Don't you remember grade 6? When we had to read with grade 1's? He was my partner and called me Kitty because I told him everybody called me Cat." I said and seen her nod slowly.
"Oh yeah. And I had Brittany as my reading buddy." She said.
"It's been forever since I seen him." I said grinning.
"He's grown to become a very handsome young man." Lindsay said in deep thought.
"Calm down there cougar he's probably only a Junior or Senior." I teased Lindsay who groaned.
"Ew okay. Not that way, god can't I have a normal conversation with you?" She said. I was digging in the bag and pulled out a fry.
"That answer would be no. Sorry sweetheart." I winked and ate it.
"Okay well we're almost home." She told me.
"I know." I said as we passed the gas station.
"Oh right. Forgot you lived there since you were born." She said sarcastically.
"Now my best friend and her lover and her baby lives there!" I squealed.
"This is going to be exactly how we planned when we were like ten!" Lindsay stated.
"Minus the baby and your sugar daddy." I told her laughing.
"No just no Cat. Don't call Pete 'sugar daddy' please." I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes slightly as we pulled up to the house.
"He got mad at your for calling him that didn't he?" And Lindsay bursted out laughing them stopped abruptly.
"Okay it was a bad time to say it." She said.
"You didn't!" I said covering my mouth before I burst out laughing.
"It slipped out when I climaxed okay!?" She said making me laugh hard and she put the vehicle in park.
"Oh man! This is gold." I began to clap.
"The best girlfriend award goes to-" And Lindsay acted flattered.
"I would like to thank my sugar daddy Pete." Then we began laughing, I haven't laughed this much in years. It felt nice. After our fits of laughter we got out and got my things.
"Oh yeah where is little Maddy?" I asked.
"She's inside. I have a baby sitter. Her name is Melanie." Lindsay said straining as she tried to pull out my biggest suitcase.
"Here let me help you." I said and together we pulled but my suitcase wouldn't budge. I placed my foot on the vehicle and said.
"On three we pull. Okay, one, two, three!" And it came out easily as we flew to the ground.
"Ow fuck my arm." I shouted giggling as I seen the suitcase on Lindsay's body.
"Catherine get this thing off me before it suffocates me." Lindsay pouted. I got up and slowly took off my suitcase from her and she got up to dust herself off.
"Thanks. You still have the same room by the way." She told me as I nodded.
"I'll take this inside and come back out to grab some more things." I said and went up the steps to where everything happened from my first steps to my first car.
I opened the door and was greeted by music playing maybe in the living room? I just left the door open since I heard Lindsay's complaining about my heavy suitcase not too far behind me.
I looked around the entry way and recognized the walls that my brothers painted for my mom and the pictures Sarah and I had chosen when we were wrong, when my family lived here they were always filled with dust but when I wiped my finger across the edge of one of the frames my hand was clean.
"Hello how can I help you?" I heard a women's voice behind me and I turned to look at her, it was a girl maybe about sixteen or seventeen who looked nervous yet protective.
"No thank you. I'm Catherine, Lindsay's best friend." I told her offering a gentle smile. The girl let out a breath of relief.
"Oh thank god. Hello I'm Melanie, Lindsay's babysitter." She extended her hand out to me which I shook.
"Well I'm just going to head up to my room. See you later." I said going up to the stairs to my old room, when I opened the door I took a deep breath as my room still looked the same except my bed was neatly made but Patrick was still on the bed where I had abandoned him.
I sighed and picked him up slowly feeling his warm fur, he looked a little rough and worn out, of course he was I practically just left him on the ground when I left. Leaving the last piece I had of Andy close with me.
I bit my lip and set him back down before walking back downstairs to help Lindsay with my things, she had already moved all of the suitcases in the house. I didn't think that much time passed up in my own memories.
One by one I took it them up to my room and came back down to eat my McDonald's I so badly wanted ever since I go into L.A. I told Lindsay I was going to go unpack my stuff before I headed to bed.
"Okay well you know where everything is if you need anything. And you know where I am." She said feeding little Maddison a fry as she stared at me.
"Okay. Bye baby." I cooed at Maddison as she smiled. I took a bite into my burger as jogged up the steps and over the baby gates.
A couple hours later I was putting all of my clothes into the closet when one box in the back of it caught my eye and my breath hitched.
One shaky arm reached down to grab it. I haven't looked at this box in over six years and the memories that are held inside. I placed it on my bed and took a deep breath looking at it.
Afraid to touch it because it will unleash a whole lot of moments with Andy Biersack. Slowly I took off the lid and the first thing I seen was a picture of Andy and I.
He was hugging me from behind huge grins on our faces. We looked so happy, before all of the drama took place and before I came to hate him.
I went on looking through everything a tear falling every now and then. Damn I really did love that boy before he had to go and break my little heart at seventeen but it's the past now and he walked away from me from us.
I just out the box back into the closet, I didn't even feel up to finish unpacking anymore because I was no longer in the mood and I was tired.
I slipped under the covers and turned off my lamp then let the peace take me away.

Notes

Okay this isn't my best writing but one day I will write a great chapter.
But for now you must deal with this sucky start of a chapter.
So Andy and the guys will appear soon and no the Pete in this story is not Pete Wentz yes, I already thought about it but again I don't know that much about him or Fall Out Boy so I'm unworthy.
