Forsaken, I Walk The Night Alone

Doing Everything We Can

Andy and Vale sat in the last classroom of the day, preparing for the worst. Andy had told her that Mr. Robertson was the worst teacher here and that he'd probably call the couple out at least once.

Kelsey seemed to be doing everything she could to avoid Vale and that hurt. She wanted to believe it was a coincidence but Kelsey was sitting as far away from her as she could.
Vale had decided she would talk to her at dinner. She needed to clear a few things up to her.

And a lot of people for that matter...

Suddenly, a man of short height with grey hair and light green eyes walked into the room. His eyes immediately drifted to the couple sitting in the back. He grabbed a few papers and walked back to Vale and Andy.

"How nice of you to show up, Ms. Augustina." He said, placing the papers in front of her and Andy. "What you two missed and notes from so far this year. Hope to see you guys everyday from now on, hm?"

"Yes sir." Andy and her mumbled.

"Thank you." Mr. Robertson nodded and walked back to the front of the room.

"Why didn't he call you out?" She muttered, looking at Andy.

"Cause your the new student." He smirked.

"Ha-ha." She shook her head, shoving his shoulder.

"You know I love you." He smiled, kissing her cheek.

"Mhm.." She crossed her arms and chuckled.

"Don't be like that." He grinned, scooting he chair closer to him.

"I'm not!" She laughed.

"You were stubborn in Heaven too." He chuckled. She shook her head, suppressing a smile.

"Okay class." Mr. Robertson said. "Today we're learning all about the judicial branch.." Vale tuned the teacher out as soon as he started talking. She didn't care and she knew just about all of the information already.

Instead, Vale focused herself on doodling a picture in her notebook.

It was of a man with large wings that paid a striking resemblance to Andy. She focused the most on his cheek bones and black hair.

"That's me!" He whispered, smiling.

"Yep." She chuckled as he leaned his head on her shoulder.

"It's really good babe. The wings look just like mine.." He said.

"I remembered them from all the memories. I just can't see what mine used to look like." She frowned.

"So in all the memories you don't have wings?" He raised his brow as she nodded. "Hm, not sure why. You definitely did have them. Maybe it's because you aren't an angel yet."

"Probably." She shrugged. He slipped his arm around her waist and rubbed her side.

Thankfully, Mr. Robertson wasn't able to see it. Andy just wanted to be touching her, making sure she was real and actually sitting next to him. Making sure his Valea was truly back.

"I love you." He couldn't say it enough: after thousands of years of her not being able to hear him say it, she finally could listen.

"I love you too." She whispered just as Mr. Robertson instructed them all to get out their Physics things.

For the entire class the couple just doodled things back and forth, occasionally laughing silently. Finally, the bell rang and Vale and Andy sprung up.

"I need to go the bathroom." Vale mumbled, throwing her bag over her shoulder.

"Okay." He said, "Tallie!" CC and her walked over to them.

"What's up?" Tallie asked.

"Go with Vale to the bathroom, please." Andy nodded, "CC and I will meet you in the lounge."

"Andy, I'm fine. I can go by myself." She shook her head. He just placed his hands on her shoulders and kissed her forehead.

"I'll feel better if Tallie goes with you." He said, pulling away and walking out of the classroom with CC.

"I don't even know what the lounge is." Vale sighed, following after Tallie.
"It's like a little room in the housing building. It's the one place teachers and administration aren't up our asses so it's a good place to hang out." She replied.

"Ah." The girls walked to the bathroom quickly. Tallie stood outside and waited until Vale came out a few minutes later.

They walked down to the lounge arriving there in about ten minutes. CC and Andy weren't in there yet so they just sat down on a couch. They came in soon and Andy smiled catching sight of Vale who always took his breath away.

"Hey baby." He said, sitting down next to her and letting a long breath. She cuddled into his side and smiled. She wished he could wrap his wings around her but she knew here wasn't the place.

"Hi." She smiled. "What were you two up too?"

"Requesting your room change." He said, taking his hat off and running his hands through his black hair.

"And?" Talula asked.

"It's a go. Hallie is moving out of your room now. We should probably go grab your stuff soon." Andy said.

"Awesome." Vale smiled.

"Guess what that means.." He smirked.

"What?" She chuckled.

"Extra cuddle time!" He laughed, pulling her so she was laying on him.

"Andy!" She exclaimed. He kissed her cheek over and over.

"Can't help being excited." He chuckled. She kissed his jaw and snuggled into his chest.

"Will anyone catch us?" She asked.

"Nah, they don't check in the middle of the night. That would be a major privacy violation." He shook his head.

"Well good." She smiled. The two couples joked around for an hour or so. No one else was in the lounge so they felt safe to have a little fun. It was only three so they had a while before dinner.

Unfortunately, Annalise and Hallie came waltzing in with Ash, Jake, and Jinxx behind them. Vale groaned and buried her face in his chest.

"I'm so tired of people." She said and he laughed.

"Hopefully not of angels." He whispered.

"Definitely not." She grinned just as the group walked over to them.

"Better get your shit out of our room." Hallie raised her eyebrow, biting a manicured nail.

"We were going to head up there soon." Vale said, matching the level of Hallie's voice. Her sister didn't scare her and really neither did Annalise. Anyone can dump a tray on someone else, it was just the three demons they seemed to have joined forces with that made her and Andy nervous.

All though he was happy to have her back, Andy was nervous that they found her at a place and time in her life she wasn't able to run away. They needed to get away from Ashley, Jake, and Jinxx but they couldn't.

"Well you better get it before we throw it away." Annalise crossed her arms.

"You don't fucking scare us, Annalise!" Tallie exclaimed.

"Yeah, just because you bully your way through life doesn't mean we're going to listen to everything you fucking say." CC shook his head, exasperated.

"Whatever." She said. "Get it out before I'm back from dinner." With that her and her little posse walked away.

"Wow." Tallie shook her head. "What a bitch.."

"Really glad your not living with her anymore." Andy chuckled.

"And thank god we don't have to deal with Hallie." CC sighed happily, leaning into Talula.

"Yeah, we've got the good Augustina now." Andy smiled.

"You mean the great Augustina sister.." Tallie giggled. Andy stuck his tongue out at his friend and laughed.

"We probably should go grab your stuff though. Dinner is in an hour, and your going to eat a full meal tonight!" He exclaimed, poking his girlfriends side.

"Andy..." She groaned, getting off of him. "I already told you, I just don't get hungry."

"Hm, doesn't that suck?" He grinned. She shook her head and grabbed his hand. He placed his hat on her head making everyone giggle. The four walked upstairs to Vale's old dorm and she sighed happily as she noticed all of her stuff was thrown into a pile in the corner of the room. "Wow." Andy shook his head, bending down to start folding her clothes. Vale helped as Talula and CC grabbed her things from the bathroom.

"Hey Vale, do you have a bag for all your toiletries?" Tallie asked.

"Yeah it's under the sink." Vale said as she folded her large comforter and packed it in her duffle bag. She grabbed her cellphone off he dresser and looked at it for what seemed like years. She hadn't felt the need to check it since she had her laptop but now she saw how many texts she actually had.

Most were from her five only really good friends back home. Bret Von Dehl, Ray Miller, Alex Foxx, Brandon Kile, and JC Charles. She had met them going to concerts and missed them dearly.

While Andy finished up packing her clothes she decided to call Bret. She dialed his number, excitement brewing in her head. She missed him a lot and at one time she thought they were going to be together one day. Now she knew that would never happen.

"Hey Vale!" Bret exclaimed.

"Hey man, what's up?" She smiled watching Andy look up at her.

"Not much, how's the new school treating you?" Bret asked.

"It's alright. Kind of weird but..I've made some good friends." She said.

"Ah, replaced us already?" Bret said.

"Nah, you know I love you guys! How's the band going?" She asked. The boys had a band named The Relapse Symphony.

"Awesome. Don't think we'll be signed for a while though." He said.

"Awh well I know yall will make it. Send me any new music okay?" She smiled.

"Will do." He said, "So tell me about these new friends. Any special ones?" Coincidentally she felt Andy's soft hands wrap around her waist just as Bret asked.

"Yeah, one guy." She smiled as he began kissing up her neck.

"Ooh name?" Bret asked.

"Andy Biersack." She smiled.

He was silent for a moment, "Awesome. Hopefully we can meet him one day." He said.

"Yeah, that would be great. I really miss you guys." She sighed.

"We miss you too, Vale. FaceTime tonight? We can do it during practice so you can hear us!" He sounded so excited that Vale couldn't help but laugh.

"Hell yeah man." She said. Vale looked up to see all of her new friends staring at her. "Can't wait, play me Other Side."

"We'll play you anything! Love you Vale!" He said.

"Love you too Bret! Talk to you soon!" She said, pressing end on the call.

"Who was that?" Andy asked, jealously pulsing behind his eyes. He didn't like Vale talking to other boys..

"Best friends from back home." She smiled. "I miss them a lot."

"Ah." Andy nodded. He caught a look at Tallie who just shook her head at him and crossed her arms.

"I'm sure you do, Vale." She said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Come on, let's go get you settled in." Tallie took her hand and pulled her out of the room. Andy and CC chuckled before picking up Vale's bags and following after the girls.

"Wait up!" Andy laughed, "Heavy bags!" Vale chuckled and looked back at him. He winked at her as they kept walking on towards the stairwell.

Once they got up to Tallie's room she let out a small sigh. Hallie had taken everything down from the walls that was hers and it looked like her room again instead of all those stupid teen idol posters pasted all over the walls.

"Here we are, home sweet home." Tallie said as Andy and CC set the bags down.

"And think that I'm just next door." Andy smiled, wrapping his arms around her waist. She leaned back and closed her eyes at the feeling.

"Alright love birds. Let's get her settled in." CC laughed, patting Andy's shoulder.

Vale smiled and began unpacking her clothes into the cleared drawers. She sat a few photos down on her desk and then pulled her laptop out while Andy made the bottom bunk for her. CC and Tallie had seemed to of disappeared which made Vale happy. Not because she didn't like them but she'd been eager to get alone with Andy all day.

He walked over to her as she looked at the pictures. It was her Bret, Ray, Alex, JC, and Brandon. Bret, Ray, Brandon, and Alex all had black hair and JC's was brown. They were great friends and she hadn't realized how much she missed them.

"Are these your friends?" He asked.

"Mhm." She said, placing the photo down. She felt something vibrate against her back and turned to look at him. "Do you have a phone?"

"I do." He said, taking it out. It was a black iPhone and a text from CC lit it up.

"Where do you guys get money?" She asked, brushing his hair from his face.

He chuckled, "Baby, I've been down here for thousands of years. Plenty of time to make more than enough money to live on for a while. Plus I think some of the Angels up in Heaven might tamper with my bank account.."

"Ah." She made a face. "That makes sense, I guess."

"Mm." He mumbled, pressing his face in her hair.

"Will you hold me?" She asked, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I am, love." He whispered.

"Not like this.." She said. He smiled and looked into her eyes. He pulled her over to the bed and laid her down. He stood back up and she watched him as he stretched his hands above his head. His wings came out, much easier than before and she marveled at their beauty once more.

Now as she looked closer she saw they had little specs of black mixed in with the white. He laid down next to her and the soft things slipped around her body.

"Comfortable?" He asked her as she laid her head on his chest.

"Yes." She nodded, running her fingers through the feathers of his wings. He shivered and she giggled. "What?"

"When someone you love touches your wings.." He shook his head. "It's the most amazing feeling in the world." She looked in his eyes and smiled before moving her hand to his left wing and rubbing it over and over. He sighed happily and buried his face in her shoulder.

"What does it feel like?" She asked.

"Like falling in love. But not as good." He chuckled. "I don't know, maybe it's the equivalent to the feeling a human gets during sex."

"So, we're having sex right now?" She raised her brow, giggling.

"No." He laughed. "It's just a soothing experience I guess."

"Than its definitely not sex.." She shook her head.

"Yeah, I guess not." He said. They were silent for a moment. Andy had started to run his fingers through her hair but he knew it didn't feel the same. "You should take one of my feathers."

"Why?" She asked, looking up at him.

"So you can tie it in your necklace or something. Remind you of what you actually are." He said. "Please.."

"Okay, okay.." She laughed. "Won't it hurt?"

"No." He shook his head. She shrugged and plucked one of the smaller feathers he winced a bit and looked up at her. "Maybe a little.."

"Sorry." She mumbled, kissing his neck.

"Here." He said, taking the feather. He stood up and she frowned, feeling cold without him around her. "Any other necklaces?" He asked.

"Should be in that jewlery box." She replied. He opened it up and grabbed a thin rope necklace. He tied the knot on the stem of his feather and then another at the top. He walked back to her and laid down. He slipped the necklace over head and she smiled.

"Wow." She shook her head. He guided her back down to his chest and she tangled her fingers in his feathers. "What time is it?" She mumbled.

"4:52." He said, glancing at her clock across from him.

"We should probably go soon right?" She asked, moving her hands so one was in his wings and the other was in his hair.

"Maybe just fifteen more minutes." He chuckled.

"We'll be late. Won't we get in trouble?" She asked.

He groaned, "So many rules. Why can't we just lay here all day?"

"That's life. I wish I could say down here we could lay in a garden all day but it's not reality.." She shook her head, brushing his hair away from his face again. It seemed to have a constant habit of falling over his eyes.

"I hate reality." He laughed and rolled off of her. He retracted his wings into his skin as Vale watched in awe.

"Wow." She said, standing up and touching his shirt to see two tiny almost invisible slits in it.

"Does it hurt?" He made a face at her as he turned around.

"Yeah, it's kind of uncomfortable at least." He said. She frowned and walked to his other side. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed his back. His eyes fluttered closed at the feeling. Vale had always known how to take care of him and she always made him feel so much more calm. "I love you so much.." He said.

She started massaging his back and smiled. "I love you too."

"You calm me down." He said. "You always have." She smiled and kissed the back of his neck.

"Come on." He said, taking her hand and pulling her out of the room. He knocked on his door and opened it to see Talula and CC making out.

"Dude!" CC exclaimed.

"Sorry, just wanted to tell you that we're heading down to dinner." Andy laughed and shut the door.

They laced hands and waked down the hallway. "I want to talk to Kelsey." Vale said.

"Yeah, she seemed like she was in a mood today." He said, shoving his other hand in his pocket.

"I think she's embarrassed." She said.

"Of us?" Vale nodded. "Why would she be? Because we skipped class?"

"I don't know." She said, rubbing her temple. "I guess we'll find out." He smirked at her as she pulled him along towards the cafeteria.

They got in line and Vale reached for a piece of fruit but Andy made a face at her before taking it from her hand and putting it back. "Hey!"

"You. Are. Going. To. Eat." He said, raising his eyebrow. She huffed and moved on. He grabbed two orders of fries and she sighed. "What else do you want?"

"I don't know, fries are good." She said, looking up at him.

"Mhm." He said, "Pizza?" She rolled her eyes.

"Fine." She shook her head. He grabbed two slices and put them on their tray.

"Your going to be so happy when you actually eat something." He said, chuckling. They walked out of the line together and went back to the same booth they had been eating in recently.
She sat down on the inside and sighed looking down at all of the grease on her side of the tray. She knew she had to eat it though, for Andy.

Vale picked up the slice of pizza and took a bite. She sighed happily, as she swallowed it. It did taste good...

"How is it?" He nudged her side.

"I've had pizza before." She shook her head, laughing.

"Yeah, but it must be good after not eating anything for five days." He chuckled.

"I eat! Andy stop!" She said, shoving his shoulder. He laughed and kissed her cheek. Talula and CC sat down across from them a few minutes later.

"Hey guys." Andy smirked as Vale bit back laughter.

"Oh, like you two don't make out.." Tallie said, making a face at them. Andy smiled and wrapped his arm around Vale's neck. She seemed to be enjoying the pizza, biting it down to the crust and now she was working on her fries. He was happy: no one should eat fruit everyday and he had been worried for her.
"In privacy.." He chuckled.

"We were in a room." CC mumbled.

"Let's just drop it!" Tallie laughed. Vale shook her head and ate a fry before looking around the room for Kelsey. She caught eyes with her as she walked to her lunch table but the black haired girl only sped to a table in the back of the room.

"I'm going to go talk to her." Vale stood up and scooted past Andy.

"Wait- I'll come with." He said but she pushed him gently so he was sitting again.
"It'll be okay, Andy." She said, kissing his forehead and walking over to Kelsey. Her eyes widened as she saw Vale approach. "Hey Kels, what's up?"

"Uh-I-nothing." The young girl lied and took a bite of her salad.

"So you won't talk to me anymore since I skipped class?" Vale quirked her eyebrow.

Kelsey shook her head, looking down at her plate. She had to heed Annalise and Hallie's warning. It was better to piss off the girl who got food dumped on her than the popular girls.

"That's not it." She shook her head, hating herself for doing this. "Can we talk outside?"

"Yeah, sure. I should ask if Andy-" Vale was cut off.

"No, I just want to have a conversation with you without him in it." Kelsey said and Vale nodded.

She waved to Andy who looked at her wearily but she only shrugged.

The girls walked out, Kelsey leading the way. They stopped in a particularly grim looking area of the school and Kelsey sighed, looking up at her.

"Look Vale, don't hate me for this." She said.

"For what?" Vale smiled and Kelsey blew out an exasperated sigh. Was she that dumb? She should run! Get Andy!

"For this, bitch." Annabelle said, gripping Vale's hair from behind and punching her in the stomach. She let out a loud groan as she was thrown to the ground. Kelsey ran away with tears in her eyes, only looking back when she heard Vale cry out even louder than before. She screamed Andy's name as the heel of her own sisters shoe came down in between her ribs.

Another one of the girls, blonde and short picked her up and forcefully threw her against the wall. "Andy's not going to help you now. He has no idea where you are."

"You're alone." Hallie said, grinning wickedly.

They had another surprise.

Ashley, Jake, and Jinxx waiting in the wings.

Longggg chapter!

Comments

If you're really attached to the idea of being on the popular page, I suggest updating frequently, which makes your story more visible, and making your story really long. What I have written is not, by far, the best available, but sometimes my longer story will randomly become "popular." I couldn't figure out why, until I realized, it's, like, 160 pages long as a word document! So, if I get a new reader, and they read it all from start to finish, that's like a short story getting, like, 40 views! I mean, it still has almost no subscribers or comments. Just a thought. ;)
