Forsaken, I Walk The Night Alone

"Do you two have any idea how worried we were?! Letting two teenagers out of our sight like it was no big deal! Your teachers all speculated you were having sex! Is this true?" Van Duhron screamed at the couple. Andy leaned back in the chair, one arm resting on his stomach and the other slid across the back of Vale's chair. If anyone saw him they would have never thought a man was screaming at him.

"No, sir." Andy sighed.

"Then what were you doing!?" He exclaimed.

"We just fell asleep." Vale said. "I've been sick lately and we were laying in the grass skipping lunch. When I fell asleep we were laying behind a statue and I guess we lost track of time."

"Lost track of time!? It six in the morning!" He yelled.

"She was really tired sir. I promise you it won't happen again." Andy tried to console.

"Damn right it won't happen again." Van Duhron slammed his hands on the desk, making Vale jump. "I can't prohibit you two from seeing each other but I can keep this campus on high alert. Do not skip class ever again or talk back to the teacher. Neither one of you is allowed in the others room. This is a serious matter."

"We understand." Andy said, his pointer finger rubbing circles into the back of Vale's neck. "Could you get on with the punishment?"

"Detention for two weeks. It's held in the library after school every school week day for an hour." The head master said, crossing his arms. "Now go get ready for church." The pair stood up, lacing hands and walking out of the office. He looked down at her, widening his eyes and blowing out a breath.

"That was fun." She laughed.

"Oh yeah." He shook his head, tossing his arm over her shoulder. She was silent for a moment.

"You know I have more questions right?" She glanced up at him.

"I figured. I may not have all the answers because I have questions myself but I will try." He said.

"Ask away."

"What exactly are Ashley, Jake, and Jinxx planning on doing?" She asked.

"They're demons so they're working for Lucifer. You know like who Lucifer is right?" He raised his brow.

"Uh the Devil?"

He chuckled, "Yes but Lucifer was an angel. He fell from Heaven and that's when he created Hell. It's not in the prophecy what exactly we're doing, babe, but apparently it will come in time. I've just been warned to protect you with my life, and to not..do it yet."

"Alright." She nodded. "So I'm not an angel and I won't be for a while?"

"To my understanding." He nodded.

"Okay." She whispered.

"Anything else Hun?" He asked.

"It doesn't add up. Was I an angel for thousands of years while you were here?" She shook her head.

"No, God was saving you for the right time to send you down. He sent me down before you and then..I guess you later. All I know and remember is that we agreed to the plan and God took her our souls, sending mine down and you stayed for a while." He said.

"Okay." She said. "That makes sense. So what next?"

He shook his head. "Just see what happens next. If Ash, Jake, and Jinxx prove to be too much would you leave with me?"

"Yes." She said, stopping and looking into his eyes. "I'd leave right now, Andy. I'm starting to remember things. Things from Heaven."

A shocked expression fell across his face. "Like what?"

She smirked but quickly bit her lip. "The first time you kissed me." His lips grew into a wide grin as he remembered the very day that started it all.

"Valea please!" Andy grinned, his bare feet padding against the cobblestone streets of Heaven. White mist floated around them as he followed her to whatever destination she had in mind.

"Andalus why do you want to kiss me so bad?" She asked, turning to look at him. He smiled. She looked so beautiful in her long white gown and her brown hair curled around her angelic face.

She took in his puffy white shirt and black slacks. He was about the only angel to wear black instead of white but even so he was perfect. His face was so well sculpted and his eyes..they were the same as hers. Just like Christian and Talula who both had the same brown eyes.

She knew Andalus loved her and she loved him too- she just wanted to play a bit.

"I like you." He smirked, biting his perfect lip. He took her hand and it took everything for her to not kiss him right then.

"Oh, well that's a problem because I'm in the love with someone else." She chuckled as his face fell.

"W-who!? You can't do this! I- you know I love you-"

"Relax Andy! I'm kidding! I'm in love with you too!" She giggled. He blew out a sigh and pulled her into a hug.

"You can't do that to me!" He exclaimed. She laughed and cupped his cheeks. He leaned in and pressed his lips surely to hers.

The entire Heavens felt the spark that the pair emitted. God looked down at his Heavens from the glorious thrown he sat on and smiled at the two.

He created true love. A love that everyone should follow: pure love.

"You remember that?" He grinned.

She smirked at him, softly. "I was a tease."

"You were." He chuckled, kissing her softly. "My tease." He mumbled against her lips.

"I love you." She said, pulling away and looking up at him.

"I love you too." He smiled. "I'm so happy you know and your really mine. Like, seriously mine. My soulmate." Her heart swelled and she kissed in between his eyes.

"It feels amazing to hear you say that." She bit her lip. He grabbed her hand again and kissed the shell of her ear.

"Let's go get changed." He said. They walked in a comfortable silence to her dorms and when they got there she sighed.

"You can't come in. Annalise is probably sleeping and she'll catch us." She shook her head. He just smiled and kissed her temple.

"I'll wait outside." He said. She nodded and crept into the room. Annalise seemed to still be asleep so Vale quickly changed, fixed her hair and makeup, brushed her teeth and left.

Andy smiled when she walked out. She had on black tights, black shorts, a ripped up Ramones tank, and a baggy grey sweater on, all finished off with a black tattoo choker necklace.

"Beautiful." He mumbled, laughing as she made a face at him.

"More like thrown together." She shook her head as they began walking towards his dorm. It was a floor above hers and Vale wondered if they'd be able to get away with sleeping in each other's rooms. The only thing that blew a hole in that plan was Annalise. "Should I wait outside?" He chuckled and shook his head.

"Tallie is in there too. She always is, your sister and her live next door." He said, pulling her in his room. CC and Talula both jerked their heads up.

"Morning you two." Andy laughed, laying down on his bed. Vale crawled under the covers with him and pressed into his side.

"Morning cuties." Talula laughed, "Heard about all the drama."

"How!? It just happened!" Andy exclaimed.

"Ash, Jake, and Jinxx. Glad you told her but damn are they pissed." CC said.

"I'm sure they are." Andy said, staring at the top of his bunk. He hated being on the bottom, it got boring looking at the springs of CC's mattress. "Here's the plan for now. Vale doesn't go anywhere without one of us, okay? We or I'll pick her up in the mornings and we stay by her side all day. She's the main one they want obviously so we keep her safe and what harm can they really do?"

"Alright." Tallie nodded. "Shouldn't be too hard. What about the nights?"

"We request a room change. Hallie switches with Vale, it shouldn't be a problem. We did it.." Andy shrugged. "I originally roomed with Ash until finally we got changed."

"Won't the head master be a little angry that someone would want to leave his perfect little daughters room?" CC asked.

"No, something tells me now that his perfect little daughters roommate got in trouble for a serious matter he'd rather her live with someone else." Andy shrugged.

"What does Hallie do when you sleep over here?" Vale asked as Talula climbed down from CC's bed.

"It's an unspoken pact. I won't tell anyone about her alcohol stash and she won't tell anyone about my coming over here." She shrugged, opening one of CC's dresser drawers and changing into a pair of jeans. She kept clothes over here in case they slept in late.

"Ah." Vale nodded against Andy's chest. He kissed her cheek and whispered words of love in her ear, making her smile.

"What time is it, C?" He mumbled.

"6:30. I fucking hate this place." He shook his head. "We have Vale now, why don't we just leave?"

"It's harder than just leaving." Andy sighed. "The problem is that Vale has a family. She's a human. We can't take her away from all that."

"But your rightfully an angel." Tallie said.

"No, Andy's right. I couldn't leave." She shook her head. "My family.."

"We understand." Andy said, rubbing her back. He reluctantly climbed out of bed to change his clothes and Vale sighed. She couldn't help but smirk about the fact that they were blatantly disobeying the rules recently bestowed upon them.

"So we wait until graduation?" CC chuckled. "I've graduated a hundred times.."

"It seems like that's the only way." Andy said, taking his jeans and underwear off causing Vale to blush. No one else seemed to pay any mind but Tallie who chuckled seeing Vale.

"We've known each other for thousands of years. We don't get very nervous around each other." She said, looking at Vale. "I think Andy's seemed to have forgotten that you've only started remembering who he was a few hours ago." Andy looked up and blushed.

"Oh-uh-I sorry.." He chuckled, quickly stepping into underwear and pants. "We lived together in Heaven so I'm used to it I guess." He slipped on a black tee shirt, a black jacket, and topped it off with a black hat. Vale smiled at him, falling a bit more in love.

"It's okay." She giggled. He winked and walked into his bathroom to get ready. She stood up and followed after him. He smiled and looked at her in the mirror as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"What's up butter cup?" He said.

"Nothing, just wanted to hug you." She smiled and kissed his cheek.

"I love you." He said, taking his toothbrush and toothpaste out.

"I love you too." She said, resting her cheek on his back.

Suddenly, her mind pulled her into what seemed like a memory.

The world around her was pure white, and beautiful. The first thing she became aware of was a hand resting in hers. She glanced over and saw Andalus looking up. He was staring into white puffy clouds, and smiling. He reached down and picked a small yellow flower from the grass.

"A butter cup?" Valea smiled, resting her other hand on his arm and laying her head on his shoulder. He placed the flower behind her ear.

"Your my Buttercup." He said. She giggled and kissed his cheek.

"I like it." She said, looking up again. She was quiet for a little while and her smile seemed to have disappeared.

It was their last day together before Andalus fell and Valea's soul was taken to be released at the right time. She was dreading goodbye.

"What's up Buttercup?" Andalus asked, laying his head on hers. He could see tears forming in her eyes.

"Are we making the right decision, Andalus?" She asked, running her finger just below his eye. He sighed and shook his head.

"If God says so then yes." He said.

"But do you believe we are?" He looked down at her and stared into basically his eyes.

"I just don't want to say goodbye." He whispered, resting his forehead against hers. She cupped his cheek and a few tears spilled over her pale, porcelain like cheeks. "Oh Valea, I didn't mean to make you cry."

"I-I'm just not ready." She sobbed, hugging around his shoulders. All the gardens were empty as
God had told everyone to leave the Angels alone. To give them one last day together before saying goodbye for thousands of years.

"It's not goodbye, Buttercup. It's see you again soon." He whispered, he guided her head to his and placed a sweet kiss on her lips. "Okay?"

"Okay."

"Vale?" Andy asked, staring at her in the mirror. She popped her head up and looked at him a grin spread across her face.

"You called me Buttercup in Heaven." She said. He chuckled and turned in her arms. He caught her in a kiss, tangling his fingers in her hair.

"You really are remembering.." He mumbled. She nodded.

"That last day.." She said. "It was so sad." He buried his face in her shoulder and breathed in her scent. It was the same as all those years ago- honey, and vanilla. An angels scent.

"It was. Can you imagine how it's been reliving it over and over again for two thousand years?" He shook his head.

"No." She said. "I'm so sorry, Andy."

"It's not your fault." He laughed. "And I have you again. That's all that matters."

CC and Talula listened to the conversation in the bathroom, small smiles on their faces.

"I'm so happy for them." She grinned, pulling her own soulmate into a kiss.

"Me too." CC pulled back, chuckling. "Now we don't have to hear him mourn her for another thousand years."

"I heard that you asshole!" Andy said, opening the door to the bathroom. Vale laughed as he pulled her with him. Andy smacked CC on the side of the head. "We were having a moment!"

"Sorry dude." CC laughed. "Let's get to church before you two get into even more trouble." The four set off towads the church. No one seemed to have caught them being in the boys room, thankfully.

Once they got inside the church, Vale cowered into Andy's side seeing Ashley, Jake, and Jinxx sitting in the back pew. Andy took her by the waist and steered her away from them. She was in the middle of Talula and him, both seemingly protective of the small girl.

Tallie and Vale had been close in Heaven- best friends since they were created. Andalus, Talula, Christian, and Valea were all created at the same time. God knew what he was doing- they were the four most important angels he'd ever created. Just like Ashley, Jake, and Jinxx were the three most important demons Lucifer had created.

Talula had cried nearly as much as Andy when they fell. Earth was a scary place and at least she had her soulmate. Andy slept lonely, and curled up by himself. He hated Earth for the first hundred years. He would wake up, screaming and crying out for Valea. It took everything for him to not end his life. He loved Valea with his entire soul and every time he thought it was about her.
He started to drown himself in his sorrows by hitting the bottom of the bottle. Tallie and CC eventually helped him get sober. Then they set out to find Valea.

Now that he had her back, he never intended to let her go.

"They scare me." She whispered. He sat down on a pew as far from the group of guys as they could get. Tallie sat on her other side as Andy pulled her into him.

"They shouldn't." He said, rubbing her back. Hallie, Annalise, and a few of their others friends walked in the church next, sitting down right in front of them.

"You never came to the room last night. Afraid to face me after yesterday morning?" Annalise grinned wickedly. Hallie just smirked and laughed at her friend. She hated her sister for already having a boyfriend after only a few days. "Or were you just fucking your gay boyfriend?"

"Hey, don't talk to them that way." Tallie said, crossing her arms. "You don't know half the shit they've been through."

"They've known each other three days, what shit have they gone through?" Hallie shook her head. How had Vale fallen in love with someone so quickly? It just didn't add up..

Tallie kept her mouth shut and rested her head on CC's shoulder. "It doesn't matter, just leave us alone." Andy said, glaring holes through the girls.

"Whatever, see you tonight roomie." Annalise grinned. Andy blew out a sigh and shook his head.

Not if he had anything to do with it.
