Forsaken, I Walk The Night Alone

Day By Day

"Happy birthday!" Everyone yelled at Vale, making her eyes jolt open. She groaned, rubbing her forehead.

"Maybe I can sleep in since it's my birthday?" She sighed, finally looking up at them all. But tears pricked to her eyes as she saw balloons, a cake, and her friends staring at her with love in their eyes.

"Then I guess we'll just put all of this stuff away then.." Jake shrugged, laughing as Andy hit his shoulder.

His meeting had gone well last night, and now they had a manager. The first task he was made to do was make a Twitter for the band and himself and then a MySpace. To connect with "fans" even though they were nonexistent.

"You guys..." Vale mumbled, covering her mouth with her hand. Andy walked over to her and wrapped her in his embrace.

"Happy birthday baby." He said, kissing her temple. "I love you."

"I love you too." She smiled. "Thank you, all of you."

"No problem Vale. You're eighteen! It's a big one!" Talula grinned.

"Yeah.." Vale laughed, pulling her hair up into a bun. She glanced at the clock to see it was already twelve.

"Well, we've got something really awesome planned today so eat some cake and then we'll get dressed." Andy chuckled, ruffling her hair.

"Is it chocolate?" She said, standing up.

"Of course." Andy giggled. Ashley handed her a piece and she sat on the couch.

"Mm, cake for breakfast." She mumbled, her mouth full. Everyone laughed, getting their own pieces as well. "So anyone going to tell me what we're doing?"

"Nope. It's a surprise." Andy said, pulling her into his lap. She sighed and kissed his jaw before taking another bite of cake.

"This is good!" She laughed. He smiled, his eyes growing doe like. She was so perfect to him and no one could ever compare. "Aw, is someone lovesick!?" He blushed and kissed her temple.

"You know I am." She grinned at his words and leaned into his chest.

They ate in silence for a little while before Jinxx spoke up. "Okay, birthday girl. We've got presents."

"Guys.." She groaned, "You don't have too!"

"We already did." Ashley chuckled, sitting next to her. "So open mine first." She only shook her head and took the package he was holding out towards her.

Everyone crowded around her, watching as she ripped the paper. She'd never had so many people care on her birthday and she felt so truly happy.

She chuckled as she realized what was in the package. "A shot glass?" He grinned at her as she shoved him. "I'm eighteen, not twenty one!"

"You're never too young to drink." Ashley winked.

"Yeah, unless it's the law." She rolled her eyes. "But thank you."

"No problem." He laughed again.

"Me next!" Tallie exclaimed, handing her a bag. Vale grinned, taking out the paper. "It's from CC and I." She took out an object wrapped in tissue paper. It was a nice lavender scarf.

"Oh! I love it so much! Thank you!" She leaned to hug them both.

"No problem!" They said together.

"I didn't get a hug..." Ashley pouted, scoffing as Andy shoved his shoulder.

"Get out of here, Purdy." He laughed. She turned and smiled at him before hugging Ashley quickly.

"Thanks, Ash." She giggled.

"Okay! Me next!" Jinxx smiled. She opened it quickly to see it was a Mayday Parade CD.

"How did you know!?" She laughed, jokingly.

"A little birdy-sack told me." Jinxx chuckled, making Vale shake her head with a smile pressed into her angelic face.

"Alright, my turn." Jake said, handing her a small envelope. She opened it and laughed out loud at the gift. It was a Papa Johns Pizza gift card. The food was something Vale and Jake always fought over. "And you don't have to share." He grumbled.

Vale laughed and stood up, pulling him into a hug. "Thanks Jakey!" He stuck his tongue out at her. Andy smiled at her, bringing her back to his lap.

"It's very hard for me." Jake chuckled.

"I know." Vale laughed. Andy took his present for her out and smiled at her.

"Hope you like it." He chuckled.

She scoffed, "I'm sure I'll hate it." She rolled her eyes. He laughed.

"Just open it, V." He shook his head. She took the paper out of the bag and smiled as she unfolded a black tee shirt.

It said Black Veil Brides and had their cool star emblem on it. "Oh my god! I love it!"
"It's one of a kind. The Andy's assistant edition." Vale giggled, remembering her new role in the band. She was the only one who could keep Andy calm and get him to where he was supposed to be, so they decided she'd be his assistant.

"I love it." She smiled.

"There's more."

"Way to make us all look bad, Biersack." Ashley chuckled.

"Hey, she's my soulmate." Andy winked. Vale dug around and eventually came across a tiny box. She flipped the top to see a beautiful diamond ring with Andy's name engraved in it and a nice silver band with her name engraved in it. "They're promise rings." He said, taking the diamond one out and sliding it on her left ring finger. She let out a soft cry as she saw how beautiful it was.

"Oh Andy.." She whispered. "It's perfect." The stone was a royal blue and a few tiny diamonds lined the top of the band.

"Would you do the honors?" He asked, nodding to the band. She smiled and took the ring out and slid it on his correct finger.

"I love them so much." She let out a breathy laugh as he pulled her into a kiss.

"It's a promise. We're forever." He smiled, against her mouth. She sighed happily and pulled away to trail her thumb down his cheek. "I just want you to know that."

She smiled, "I love you."

"I love you, too." He said, kissing her forehead softly. The whole room smiled at the Angels in adoration. How could two people ever be so in love?

"Okay, now get dressed! We have something to do today." Tallie grinned, breaking the couple of their loving gazes. Vale slid off Andy's lap and grabbed a pair of black jeans and a ripped up black tee shirt. She changed quickly before applying makeup and brushing her teeth and hair.

Andy placed his leather jacket around her shoulders as they all began walking out of the apartment. "So.."

"We're not telling you." Andy shook his head. "It's a surprise." She groaned as he pulled her closer to him before kissing her temple.

"I hate surprises." He chuckled as they walked downstairs with everyone.

"You'll like this one."

They walked along the streets for a little while until they came across a small park that Vale could see led into a forest. "What the hell?" She chuckled, seeing a blatant "No Trespassing!" sign.

"Come on, Vale, we all know you're not one to follow the rules!" Ashley chuckled.

"I think you're talking about yourself, Purdy." Vale laughed as they ducked under a gate. "So where are we going?"

"We're giving you your first flight." Andy smiled.

"Wait, seriously!?" Vale had been itching to get up in the sky and Andy had kept saying no since they had no where they wouldn't be spotted.

"Yep." Andy smiled, kissing her temple again.

They came to a large clearing and Vale smiled as Andy let his wings fly out. All around they released they're wings and Andy couldn't help but feel like he was close to heaven again.

"Okay, how do I do it." Vale said, throwing Andy's jacket on the ground. He laughed.

"Come on, baby. I know you remember, just let go." He said, lifting his wings up and flapping them to create a powerful gust before he was off.

Vale watched in awe as they all flew away. She closed her eyes softly and blew out a breath before doing the same.

As soon as the wind connected with her face she felt at home again. Like she could fly higher and higher and finally reach the heavens gate. She smiled as she reached the tops of the trees and kept going. Everyone followed until they flew side by side. Andy reached out and grabbed Vale's hand before pulling her even faster.

"Come somewhere with me!?" He shouted over the wind. She nodded.

She grinned at him as he took her away from everyone else. They flew towards a rather tall tree and sat down on a thick branch.

"Wow." She said, sighing happily as she looked out on the horizon. She could see a beautiful lake and trees surrounding it. "This is amazing."

"I went flying here the other day, of course to make sure you were safe when you came and I found this." He smiled. He felt his wings, mixing with hers and grabbed her hand. "I rented a motel room..for us."

"Today?" She grinned.

"Yes." He said, pulling her closer and connecting his lips with her neck. He kissed all the way up, until his lips pressed into her sweet spot.

"Mm." She moaned.

"We can't stay here much longer but I'll make you feel like you're flying somewhere else." Her breath hitched at his words and she gave a small nod.

"Then what are we doing here still?" She laughed, letting her hand splay across his chest. Andy bit his lip and laughed as she kissed in between his collar bone.

They stood up and laced hands once again.

"You better be well rested." She chuckled as they flew off into the air. They caught up with their friends and flew around for a little while.

Vale had never felt so free in her entire life. With Andy's hand in her's and her friends around her, she felt complete.

About an hour later, they landed. They retracted their wings, making them humans again.

Vale threw Andy's jacket back on and they all walked back to the city.

"We'll see you guys tomorrow." Andy said, steering Vale in the oppostive direction.

"Have fun!" Ashley yelled, loudly. As they walked away they heard them all laughing and CC shouted, "Oh Andy!"

He looked down at Vale who had a blush on her cheeks. "Don't listen to them."

"I'm not." She whispered. They walked inside of a motel, Andy retrieving a key from the front desk. They moved into a tiny room but someone had scattered tiny rose petals all over the bed.
He slipped his arms around her waist and gave a soft kiss to her neck. She moaned under his light touch and turned in his arms. She crashed her lips to his and swathed her arms around his waiflike neck.

They were passionate together, holding each other upright as they kissed and kissed.

Eventually, they shed off their clothes and he laid her softly on the bed, caressing her thigh as he looked up at her. She softly rubbed his jaw as they just kept their gazes locked.

He was so hopelessly in love with her that he felt like his throat had closed up. His other hand came up to rub her back.

She leaned down to kiss his lips softly. "I love you." She whispered and his eyes softened. She watched nervously as a tear dripped down his cheekbone. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." He laughed a bit, though he still cried. She pulled him into her chest and softly stroked his long hair. "I just.." He sighed. "I remember how I used to feel without you. How, sad I was and how..painful it was to not have you h-olding me.." His voice broke, almost emulating Vale's heart.

"I know." She said, laying her cheek on his head. "But I have you now and never will anyone take you away from me again." His hand still squeezed her thigh softly and he gave a small nod.

"Every year on your birthday, I used to be so sad. Of course, it was a different day but I'm just happy I don't have to feel that way again." He said, looking up at her. She smiled as wide as can be.

"Never." She whispered, kissing his forehead.

"Look, I have one more part to your present." He said, chuckling as she gave him a face.

"Babe! All of this is plenty!" She exclaimed.

"I didn't spend money on it. It's a new song." He said, smiling sheepishly at her. She bit her lip and nodded as he cleared his throat.

I open my lungs dear
I sing this song at funerals... no rush.
These lyrics heard a thousand times, just plush.

A baby boy you've held so tightly,
This pain it visits almost nightly
Missing hotel beds, I feel your touch.

I will await dear, a patience of eternity, my crush.
A universe so still.
No rust.

No dust will ever grow on this frame,
One million years, and I will say your name.
I love you more than I can ever scream.

We booked our flight those years ago,
I said I loved you as I left you.
Regrets still haunt my hollow head,
But I promised you that I will see you again, again.

I sit here and smile dear.

I smile because I think of you and I blush.
These bleeding hollow dials, this fuss.
A fuss is made of miles and travel

Roadways are but stones and gravel.
A bleeding heart can conquer every crush.

We booked our flight those years ago
You said you loved me as you left me.
Regrets still haunt your saddened head,
But I promised you that I will see you.

We booked our flight those years ago
I said I loved you as I left you
Regret's no longer in my head,

But I promised you and now I'm home again, again, again, I'm home again, again, again.
I'm home again.

He sat up and kissed her another time before they went on to make love, again and again and again..

Notes

Long chapter and one of the cutest ones so far <3

Comments

If you're really attached to the idea of being on the popular page, I suggest updating frequently, which makes your story more visible, and making your story really long. What I have written is not, by far, the best available, but sometimes my longer story will randomly become "popular." I couldn't figure out why, until I realized, it's, like, 160 pages long as a word document! So, if I get a new reader, and they read it all from start to finish, that's like a short story getting, like, 40 views! I mean, it still has almost no subscribers or comments. Just a thought. ;)
