Forsaken, I Walk The Night Alone

Welcome Home

The heroes stood in a line inside of the dorm. Uriel walked in front of them, noticing how Andy stood next to Vale as protective as he could possibly be. She was tucked safely into his side as he looked at Uriel.

"I'm going to change all of your appearances so you'll look younger. You have to start anew so your family will forget you Vale and so will everyone else." Uriel said.

"O-okay." She nodded, clutching onto Andy. He pressed a long kiss to her forehead making her eyes flutter shut.

"Once your changed you'll pass out and will wake up in a different place with each other. The world will be the same except the people whose paths you've crossed won't remember and your appearance. Understand?" Everyone nodded now and Vale let out a nervous sigh. "Since you'll be starting new, you won't have much money. Just whatever we may be able to give you."

"Wait." Vale said, making everyone look up. She blew her breaths out through her nose before quickly taking Andy by the neck and crashing her lips up to his. He responded easily and after a few seconds they pulled away. "Okay, proceed."

"When I do this, you'll wake up angels. All of you."

"Even me?" Vale questioned almost jumping at the thought of not having to give up her virginity yet.

"Yes." Uriel winked.

With a wave of her hand the whole world went black for all seven of them.

Andy's eyes snapped open with electricity. His head felt heavier and as he ran his fingers through his hair he found that it was incredibly long. Looking down at his arms he saw less tattoos than he had before- a lot less. His legs were skinnier and so were his arms.

He felt someone turn on his legs and saw Vale laying there on bid shins. As he sat up he saw everyone start to do to the same. They all looked different with less tattoos and a heavier look to them.

Vale's hair was still her same brown and blonde color but with black streaks throughout. She had a few tattoos, one being Andy's name plastered right on the back of her neck. Talula looked almost the same aside from a few new piercings and shorter hair.

"Woah." Vale chuckled, shoving her fingers through his long locks. He smiled at her and picked up a few of her's.

"You look different." He whispered.

"You too." She swallowed. "But in a good way. You look..younger?"

"You too." He shook his head.

"Where the hell are we?" CC asked, sitting up.

"It looks like Los Angeles." Ashley said, looking out the window. "Yeah, a few blocks down from where we used to live guys." He glanced at Jake and Jinxx.

Everyone was silent for a moment, realizing just exactly what was going on. It hit Vale that no one remembered her aside from the six in that room and tears pushed to her eyes. She didn't want to cry so she held it in but sadness loomed over the tiny girl. Though she felt..different..
She knew she was an angel and her whole outlook had changed on the room.

When Vale looked at Tallie, she remembered all of the times they had shared. So many fun days in heaven from when she was a young child and up. She smiled when she saw CC, thinking of when she, Tallie, and Andy had hung out in heaven.

But the real feeling that took Vale's breath away was when she looked at Andy. His eyes connected with her's and something clicked in her heart. She had loved Andy before- God, of course she did! But now that she could remember everything they'd ever done, everything they'd ever felt she couldn't help but realize how much she really did love this man. He was perfection- maybe not to everyone else but to her.

She could never imagine leaving his side and she wouldn't.

"We have a few things to discuss." Andy stood up. Vale followed him after she snapped out of her gaze but stopped when she saw a mirror. They were in some old apartment that had a few tattered couches, a grimy kitchen, and two blow up mattresses in the floor.

She looked at herself and all of the tattoos, most dedicated to her boyfriend. Her hair was longer and blonde and black with a little bit of her brown peaking out.

She felt stronger, better. Her back ached a bit and she was pretty sure it was because of the wings underneath her skin.

"Like what?" Ashley said.

"Like I need you to vow that you won't hurt Vale." Andy said. "It's important for me to feel safe."

"We promise, Andy." Jinxx said. "I think I speak for all of us when I say that what Uriel told us just changed us. We're angels now. We're on your side."

Andy didn't want to believe them but they were divine now. They were incapable of lying to other angels.

"Welcome aboard guys." CC laughed, hugging Jinxx around the shoulders. "No hard feelings."

That was CC for you, forgive and forget but Andy wasn't so great about forgetting. In fact, he could hold a grudge for years. Unless it was Vale, if you crossed him it was hard to get him back.

"Babe, it's okay." Vale whispered, wrapping her arms around his tiny waist. "Let it go, it will be fine."

He closed his eyes as she kissed his shoulder. He nodded softly before looking around the room.

"So music.." Ashley said. "We don't even have inst-" He cut himself off when he looked in the corner of the room to see a few guitars and an old looking kit of drums. "Guess the Angels really know how to set us up."

"Your an angel now too." Talula chuckled.

"Well played." The black haired boy smirked.

"How are we going to play music when we don't even have songs?" Andy groaned, collapsing on the old couch. He saw himself in the mirror and marveled a bit at how different he looked but somehow the same. They all even had different clothes on and he assumed there were more options in the dresser he saw across the room.

"You write music." Vale said, leaning on the section of couch behind him. He rolled his eyes.

"Thanks, babe." He crossed his arms.
"No problem." She chuckled, running a hand through her long hair. "Why don't you guys just jam for a bit?"

"Jam?" They all raised their eyebrows at her as Andy turned to looked at her.

"Just play for a bit. Tallie, you and I will go look for jobs." Vale said, taking charge. She walked around but stopped when she felt Andy take her hand.

"No.." He said. "Don't leave." He couldn't help but feel the same way she did. She was so much more open to him even if it had only been a few minutes he could sense it.

"Someone's got to make money, huh?" She chuckled, planting a soft kiss against his lips. His eyes lightened as he realized that this wasn't just Vale anymore.

This was Valea and Vale.

The ultimate in confidence and beauty. She was truly perfect to him.

"I guess your right, but we'll look for jobs too!" Andy exclaimed as Vale waved him off. "Please be careful."

"We will. I've got the wings again, remember?" She laughed, kissing him once more. He tugged on her waist and she laughed, pushing him back.

She felt light with happiness. All of her memories were back and now that she was over the initial shock- she was content. She truly felt like she could love Andy unconditionally and as she looked back into her memories she finally saw what plagued her imagination for so long.

Her wings.

They were fluffy and white but much like Andy's, they had a gorgeous gray sheen to them. She itched to take them out and see them with her own eyes but she couldn't in public.

"Okay- bye." She giggled, pulling away. "Love you."

"You too." He smiled, leaning back as her and Talula left. He bit his lip and closed his eyes.
She was back.

She was finally back.

Vale pushed through the doors of a tiny shop. It was a record store she'd come across called Plan 9. Talula had stopped at a restaurant since she'd waitressed before but Vale had only worked retail.

She smiled as she entered the shop and saw a girl placing records on shelves. She looked disheveled with hair seemingly similar to her own. It was more well done though and her eyes were literally the most perfect blue eyes she'd ever seen.

Well, next to Andy's.

"Uhm hello." Vale said, looking over at her. She looked up and smiled.

"Oh hey!" She had an adorable country accent that Vale longed for. "What can I help you with?"

"I was actually wondering if you were hiring? I just moved out to Los Angeles with my boyfriend and his band so I'm looking for job." Vale bit her lip, hopefully.

"Oh yeah! I actually just opened, I moved out here from Texas. My name is Rachel." She smiled.

"Vale. So should I get an application and come-"

"Probably but I trust you. And maybe you could see if your boyfriend would want to work too?" She said, straightening out a few albums. "I need help around here. I'd pay 8.25 and hour."

Vale eyes widened as she realized that that was above minimum wage. Andy and her would be stupid not to take these jobs.

"We'll both do it." Vale smiled at her.

"Great! Come in tomorrow at nine and we can go over everything. I'll make sure your boyfriend isn't some crazy physco." Rachel laughed.

"Thanks Rachel." Vale smiled. "I'll see you then. Anything specific to wear?"

"Just your clothes. Until then." The other girl smiled at her as Vale waved and walked out of the shop.

She felt happier knowing they'd have an income now.

Vale stood by the pole Talula and her had said they would meet at. She came up about ten minutes later. "Hey V." She giggled, throwing her arms around her neck. Vale laughed, memories of their times in Heaven flooding through her mind.

"I take it that you got the job?" She chuckled.

"You bet." Talula smiled. "How about you?"

"Me and Andy are now proud employees of Plan 9 record store." Vale giggled.

"You got him a job too!? Awesome!" Talula grinned, linking their arms and walking in the direction of the apartment. When they had left the doorman knew their names which led them to believe they had been in the building a decently long time.

"I hope the guys didn't kill each other while we were gone.." Vale sighed.

"Nah- I believe them. They seem sincere." Tallie shrugged as they opened the door. They ran up the grimy stairs and hesitated outside the door when they heard laughing from inside. Talula smirked at her before opening the door.

Immediately, Andy looked up and smiled at her. "Hey. Any luck?"

"Mhm." She plopped down on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. "We'll be starting at Plan 9 Records tomorrow."

"We'll? As in both of us?" Andy chuckled.

"Yep. Got us both jobs. The lady is so sweet." Vale said.

"I'm going to be waitressing." Talula smiled at CC who kissed her cheek.

"Sounds like you ladies did good." Ashley laughed. Vale giggled as she felt Andy press about ten kisses to her neck.

"How you liking your hair?" Vale said, running her fingers through the locks.

"I like it." He laughed. "Should have grown it out a long time ago."

"I like it too." She said, running her hands across his now bare chest. She noticed that the guys had instruments in their laps and CC was behind the kit of drums. "You guys been playing?"

"Yeah, I just don't write songs." Andy groaned, letting his arm wrap around her neck and the other rest in her lap. She ran her fingers through his hair and kissed his forehead.

"But I love you, so you'll figure it out." He glanced up at her, his eyes childish and happy. She felt him nuzzle his cheek against her arm and smiled. "And we both know that's a lie."
Andy rolled his eyes.

"You two gotta stop." Ashley laughed. "Literally can't deal with it." Vale stuck her tongue out as Andy pulled her closer.

"Demons don't understand love." CC laughed.

"Not demons anymore." Jinxx chuckled, plucking at a few strings of his electric rhythm guitar. It freaked him out how the Angels knew that he and the guys knew how to play.

"Well what if we helped you guys?" Vale asked. "Tallie and I could do it."

"You know how to right songs?" Andy giggled.

"I've seen Bret and his band do it before." Vale shrugged. "Take something that matters to you...and turn it into a song."

Andy leaned back for a moment and thought. His mind was pulled into one of the saddest memories of his life.

"What the hell are you doing, Andalus?" Jedediah, the biggest asshole in Heaven came up to Andalus. The younger boy let out a long sigh as he hid his notebook beneath his knee.

"Just w-writing." Andy stuttered. His eyes drifted over to Valea, only thirteen and still looking beautiful as she played in the gardens with Talula.

"Writing? Writing what?" Jedd chuckled.

"M-music- hey!" Andy protested as Jedd took his notebook.

"Hey everyone! Look at Andalus' stupid notebook!" Jedd screamed making all the teenage angels look up. Valea looked over at him with pitty in her eyes. "It's about you, Valea! Fair skin, pretty blue eyes just like mine!" Jedd quoted.

Andy felt horrified as he watched Valea sigh. "Don't be so mean Jedd." She stood up.

"Oh Valea don't tell me you feel bad for this guy? How could he be an angel? He looks like a demon.." Jedd scoffed at his own words.

"No Jedd, your acting like a demon." Valea said, crossing her arms. "Andy's a good guy. So don't be mean to him for no good reason."

"Valea what are you talking about-"

"Hey! It's time for training." One of the arch angels yelled at the group of teens.

Andy stood up and smiled at Valea. "Thanks."

"No problem. Did you really write a song for me?" She blushed.

"Y-yeah." Andy bit his lip.

"Ah, that's-"

"Gay. You know, Andy, being gay is a sin. You should probably stop writing such gay music." Jedd ripped his notebook in half.

Andy looked down at the ground longingly.

"Hey, it'll be okay." Valea smiled making his heart warm.

Some people were just made to be angels.

I'm adoring this story <3

If you're really attached to the idea of being on the popular page, I suggest updating frequently, which makes your story more visible, and making your story really long. What I have written is not, by far, the best available, but sometimes my longer story will randomly become "popular." I couldn't figure out why, until I realized, it's, like, 160 pages long as a word document! So, if I get a new reader, and they read it all from start to finish, that's like a short story getting, like, 40 views! I mean, it still has almost no subscribers or comments. Just a thought. ;)
