A War Worth Fighting For

Andy's POV

"You should never have let him get that close to you. You should have cut him down! You must be crazy! How did he even get that close to you? How did you not know he was there?"
"Jesus Andy, relax. None of us knew he was there until he said something."
"Ash, he is the demon of night. Power eminates from him. How could you not tell?" I was pacing the room at this point. Jinxx had his arm protectively around Raynes waist, tense and ready to jump in front of his mate. "Jinxx, I won't hurt her, you know me better than that."
"I know Andy, it's just been a tense day, I'm having a hard time relaxing. And in her defense, Troian had said his powers were weak, and that he couldn't turn day into night. I don't know if it's because of everything that's going on, or if he was pulling some kind of stunt, but none of us knew he was there."
"He touched her Jinxx, made it so he could mind link with her."
"Trust me, I'm well aware of that."
I saw his eyes darken, it clearly made him uncomfortable. I know my friend. His anger never gets the best of him, but this obviously set him off. "Why didn't you cut off his hand Rayne?"
"I couldn't react, he didn't seem threatening. I don't know Andy, as much as I don't trust him, he seemed sincere."
"Rayne, he's a demon, the enemy. Or have you forgotten?"
"Andy, I would appreciate if you would treat me as your head warrior at this instant, and not the human I used to be. I've been fighting the wars long enough to know who the enemy is and now you're out of line."
Well, that stung. I ran my hand through my hair, trying to collect myself. She's right though, we may be home but things are much different. When I look at her I still see the headstrong human she used to be. But she isn't anymore. "I'm sorry Rayne. Like I told you the other night, old habits die hard."
I look at Jake and CC sitting quietly next to their mates, Ella and Shawna. Katie wraps her arms around Ash as he sits down next to her. Jules is standing there with her arms crossed, giving me a look quite clearly stating 'I can't believe you just tried to pull that'.
I sigh. Michael steps to putting his hand on my shoulder. "It may be to early to tell old friend, but this could be the edge we need to find the link. I've already been told that Lucifer and Satan are building an army to help us in the fight against these new demons."
"But how do we trust the very beings we are fashioned to destroy?"
"We don't. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, at least, for now."

Jinxxs POV

I keep my arm tightly around Raynes waist. My eyes down as they talk about tomorrow's search. Jake opened the computer searching on how to find out what fault lines in the area are most active. After the meeting is fInished, and Jake showed us where we should search next, I pull Rayne out of the living room into the bedroom, and I hold her to me.
She didn't talk, she just wrapped her arms around me and let me hold her. She ran her hands through my hair, and pressed her face into my neck, finally I could feel the tension drain from me. She's still here, she is unharmed. She is whole.
I can't get a grip on how I've been feeling lately. My emotions are everywhere. Anger, love, frustration, passion, anxiousness. I'm all over the place.
I pull away from her slowly, and smile warmly at the woman I love. I can see the worry in her eyes. "I'm ok my love, it's just been a rough day."
"Jinxx, I've never seen you get so angry. Even in the worst of it, while I was human, I've never seen your eyes go dark like that. It was a little unsettling."
"Oh Rayne, I'm sure they have, but you just never noticed."
"Are you going to be ok, do you want to go home?"
"No! I will not leave your side, ever!" I feel the tension build in my shoulders again. The thought of leaving her side pains me, "Do you know what it would do to me to be away from you? Even now that you're and angel, and our bond keeps us whole even when we are far apart, my heart breaks. I hate being away from you."
"I'm sorry, it's just everytime I turn around, I can see pain in your eyes. I don't want to keep hurting you. I'm not trying too."
"I know you aren't. My emotions are all over the place. Being here brings back memories, and feelings. I can't seem to get a hold on them. But if I left, it would be worse. I might loose my sanity being away from you too long."
I flop onto my back across the bed, hands in my hair, wings spread. She stands over me, chewing her lip in thought. Closing my eyes and rubbing my temples, I breathe in a few times, trying to get the thoughts of today to leave. When I open them, she was gone. I sit up in a panic, looking around the room. "Rayne?"
I hear nothing. I calm myself and feel for her, she is still here. She's masked.
"HA!!!" She hit me from behind. Knocking me off the bed, onto the floor.
"Are you insane?!"
She just layed there, on top of me laughing. Everyone runs into the room, seeing there was nothing to worry about they smile, and laugh at the look on my face. When they leave I push her off of me so we're both sitting in the floor.
She is still laughing, so I push her. She gasps, holding her arm, with a look of hurt. I smile and she pushes me back. Stretching we put our wings away, and she tackles me again. We roll around wrestling and laughing until we are both out of breath, her lying across my chest.
Looking at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes, she moves quickly and removes my pants, taking me into her mouth. "Holy shit!"
She moves with intent, not allowing me to breathe, she aims to get me off quickly, and it's working.
I hardened instantly, every time her head comes up she sucks hard at my tip, flicking her tongue across the small opening there. I can't talk, I just moan shamelessly at the feeling of her mouth on me. She rests her hands on my hips, stilling my writhing body, sending waves of emotion through her touch. Each wave climbing me higher and higher.
One of her hands moves to stroke my shaft so she can focus her mouth and tongue on my head. She moves quickly, I fight to find my voice, "My love...ah...please...." It comes out hoarse, and at barely a whisper. I can't think, my eyes roll back. Warmth spreads through my body, all I could do was grunt a warning to her. She deep throats me, my tip hitting her throat, as I empty myself into her mouth. My eyes roll back as she sucks gently on my head before pulling off me. I'm spent, panting and moaning as I come down from my high.
Gently she nips at the skin of my inner thigh, them climbs up to kiss my cheek. She stands pulling me up off the floor, laying me down onto the bed. She curls into me, hiding her face in my neck as my eyes close and sleep consumes me.

I've put up 2 chapters, now this one, and no one commented!? Was it that bad? I want to know what you think so I can adjust things. Is it boring? Is the anticipation there?
