Raynes POV

"RAYNE JINXXX WAKE UP!!!!"
"Why CC? Just why?" I took off out of the bed, chasing him out of the house and into the sky. I could hear Jinxxs laughter echo through the house. "Damnit CC!! Just because we're home doesn't mean you get to torture me and Jinxx every morning now!"
I stop flying after him and he laughs, "Yes it does!"
Landing back on the porch, Cherry was there to greet me. "Good morning Rayne."
"Good morning Cherry, did you sleep at all last night?"
"Very little, the mist had me on edge all night. It made me very uncomfortable that they were here."
"Do you want to return to my shoulder to rest?"
"No, mother will be here soon and I want to see her before you start your search. I'll return to your shoulder before we leave."
"There is a bag of cherries in the fridge if you want them."
"Oh yes, definitely."
She returns into the house as Michael lands next to me. "Well, what's the news?"
"The elders seem to agree with that theory. It's the only one that makes the most sense. But of course we won't know for sure until we find the link."
"Well, it's a step closer for now. Ash brought something up to me and I want to run it by you. Do you think he could be brainwashed, that maybe he could be enjoying himself too much to care."
"let's hope not, it'll make our lives much more difficult. Are we ready to start the search?
"The guys are ready, but widow is on her way here. She wants to help by ground searching while we're in air. The mist was also here guarding us last night. The new demons can breech them though, but they stretched out far enough to give us some kind of warning if they are after us."
"Good to know. Let me know when your ready."
He heads into the house, and Jinxx comes out. "Well I guess everyone wants to talk outside today."
He laughs, "I guess so my love. The girls wanted to know if there was anything they could do. I think they want to be of some help instead of sitting around the house all day. They aren't mere humans anymore...their words, not mine."
"They need to take the checkbook and find you guys a new tour bus. They need to get the key to the storage unit and get the trailer and all of your equipment, and have Andy give them a list of all the stuff that might need replacing. They'll need to go to guitar center, or whatever the name of it is now, to get it. All of the information is in the file cabinet."
"I'm excited to be playing music again."
"I'm excited to hear you play." I lean in and press my lips to his...

Jinxx pulls back and we both smile.
"Widow it's so good to see you." I walk down and hug her, two of her front legs wrap me in a warm embrace.
"Rayne, your wings are black, and flecked with gold, they're beautiful.
I smile at her, "you have no idea how much I appreciate your help."
"It's not just me helping you today, my children will be here to help as well. They have already started searching. Now where is Cherry, I've missed her."
"She is inside, please come in."
"Thank you Rayne. Hello Jinxx, it's good to see you."
"It's good to see you too Widow."

"Ok, if we find the link, we bring him here. Michael is working on a place to bring him so he'll be safe. If you see Balan or ANY demon, kill them. The less we have on our tails the better. Same groups, the other 6 warriors will split into groups of 3, spread out and cover as much area as you can. We'll meet here at sundown."
We take off, Jinxx on my right, Ash on my left.

Around 6 we land in a clearing to rest our wings. Thankfully I don't have to deal with the pain and stiffness from the accident. Just sore and tired muscles.
I link with Andy, Widow and the two other warriors in lead of their teams, only to find out they found nothing as well.
"They could be long gone by now, possibly in a different country if they portal hop."
"Oh ash, please don't say that. That's the last thing I want to hear."
"Sorry Jinxx, but it's possible."
"He's right babe. But at the same time,opening portals would alert Satan and Lucifer and I don't think Balan wants that attention."
"You couldn't be more right. Hello Rayne."
"Troian!"
Our swords appear and I mind link back to everyone.
"You remembered young warrior, even after all these years."
"Not something easily forgotten." Jinxx places a hand on my shoulder calming me, "so you are involved in this too? I wasn't informed you had escaped your confines."
"Actually I'm not. I am on the same mission as you Rayne. I mean to stop Balan."
"Ha, yeah ok, like I believe you."
"Easy my love."
I look back at Jinxx, and nod my head. Looking back at Troian I sneer, "why would you want to stop him, while I was human, you were all about helping him achieve exactly what he has recently."
"Because then I didn't believe how out of balance things would become. I realize this now and I just want things to go back to normal. If you haven't noticed, my powers are weak, I can't turn daylight into night as I usually do."
"I'm sorry Troian, but I cannot trust you."
"Just as I can't trust you. But I will give you something, he follows the fault lines. It's the only way he can stay on earth as long as he has. The power that surges from there keeps him going. It's just a matter of knowing which fault line is active. If I find him, I will kill him, and the link is yours. I would like it if you would leave Balan to me, that is, if you find him first."
"I can't promise that."
He swipes a finger down my neck, Jinxx growls low in his throat. A red hot heat spreads over my skin and I can feel Troian in my mind. "Now if you find him, you can link to me, just use your mind to look for the darkness. I fear we will be seeing each other again young warrior."
Then he was gone. Through Jinxxs touch I can feel his anger, and Ash's anger resonates through the air.
I turn to Jinxx, "Its ok baby, I'm ok."
"He touched you."
"I know, but I'm not hurt."
"He touched you Rayne, and your skin is practically burned where he did. No one touches you. But me."
"Hey, what about us?" Ash pouts, obviously recovered from his anger after seeing I'm ok.
"Ash, not now." Jinxx walks to me, running his finger along the reddened skin of my neck, his eyes have gotten dark. He leans in and kisses it softly, and my skin begins to cool. "No one touches you but me. I don't like the way he looked at you either."
I didn't know what to say, I just nod my head. The rest of the guys and the warriors land around us.
Andy had his sword ready, "Where is he?!"
"I'll explain when we get home, it's getting late, and if we don't get back before dark we might loose our way through the mist."
He nods and takes off in a rush. As I was about to take off and follow, Jinxx grabs my hand pulling me into a passionate kiss. Pulling back, I see that his eyes have softened and returned to their normal piercing blue. "I'm sorry my love, after what he put you through.. I don't want him touching you."
"it's ok Jinxx, let's head home."
