A War Worth Fighting For

Raynes POV

"Jinxx, Rayne, wake up!"
"What the fuck Andy! We've only been asleep for an hour, what' is it?"
"Sorry Jinxx, but the mist is here, and they want to speak to Rayne."
"My love, wake up."
"I am up, I just don't want to move." I feel the familiar tickle on the back of my shoulder, Cherry is on edge. "Ok, I'm up, you can come out Cherry."
she crawls down my shoulder to the bed, skittering to the floor, growing to full size. "Rayne, why is the mist here to see you? I don't like it."
"They've guarded us once before Cherry, when Balan and Troian were after us. Maybe they are here for that now."
i look at Jinxx and he shrugs, "let's hope so."
walking out of the room Andy joins me, as we walk through the door.
"I am here mist, what is it that you need?"
"Good to see you again Rayne, we see you took nicely to being a warrior."
"I have. Why are you here?"
"To protect you, Balan knows you are searching for him and the link. Lucifer sent us. But I fear we may not be of much help. If the new demons come, all we can do it warn you. Their powers are greater than ours. We are stretched far, to give you enough warning."
"Thank you again, for protecting the ones I love. It's much appreciated."
"Rayne, this mist is unnatural, it makes me very uncomfortable."
"I know Cherry, but we can use all the help we can get."
"Relax little spider, we mean you all no harm."

"Rayne, mother will be here tomorrow to help on your search."
"Widow will be here? That's great, I haven't seen her in years."
My eyes meet with Jinxxs, he looks much lighter, much happier than he has the past few days. "Back to bed my love?"
"Mind if I stay out here Rayne?"
"That's fine Cherry, we will see you in the morning."
Jinxx takes my hand as we walk back to the bedroom. Curling up on the bed he notices something. "You know you're naked right?"
"Well shit, look at that. I'm a typical Angel."
"And after all that time yelling at us to put clothes on."
I laugh with him.
