A War Worth Fighting For

Raynes POV

"Andy? Rayne? Where are you? We're here!!!"
"in the living room Girls!! Where's Michael?" I thought he was going to come with them.
"He's was finalizing the orders when we left."
"Good. I want this done and over with as soon as possible."
"What's wrong Ray? You seem on edge today."
"I'll explain later sis."
"No, we'll talk now."
Andy walks in the room, giving Jules a kiss, the other girls walk to their mates and do the same. Jinxx has disappeared again somewhere on the property. She pulls me into my room leaving Andy standing there with a confused look. I just shrug my shoulders before closing the door.
"Speak Ray, what's going on."
"It's just Jinxx sis, he's hurting. We don't get to spend much time together anymore. I don't know what to do. I miss him Jules. I think after this mission, I might take a break from head warrior, and leave it to Andy. Even if just for a little while."
"Wow ray, that's a big thing. Are you sure you want to do that?"
"I just don't want to keep hurting Jinxx."
"You know we'll support you on anything you decide, but really think about this Ray. Promise me that?"
"Yeah Jules, I promise. Michael's close, let's go out and meet him."

The white winged wonder lands on the porch as I open the door, "Good to see you Michael."
"You too Rayne, are you ready?"
"As I'll ever be, let's call everyone in."

"These demons are not what you would expect. Sources tell me that they walk the earth as humans but can shift into a demon form. In human form, they show no sign of them even being demon."
"Ugh, great. So it's a guessing game."
"Not quite. The evil emanating off them is almost strong enough to smell. Remember how you could pretty much smell satan before you would actually see him, it's similar to that, but not as strong."
"So we would have to practically on top of them to smell them, great. That doesn't make this any easier. So what's the plan."
"First we have to find the link Balan is using to breed these demons. Once bred, they are in the womb a matter of days, before they are born. They grow to full adult size within a weeks time. It's nothing I've ever seen before."
"Is there a location on the link?"
"Not as of current, they move constantly, too keep us off their trail. The last known location was not far from here actually. That's why this house will serve as a home base. They don't move far from the previous location, but it's sporadic. So we never know which way they are headed."
Andy shakes his head and Jinxx grips my hand tight under the table. "Ok, so we find the link, then what?"
"He will be put under protection, surrounded by warriors at all times. We destroy the demons on earth, then we head to the depths of the underworld, and help Lucifer take back control. If we fail, life on earth will cease. And then eventually the heavens and hell will also cease to exist."
Ive never seen Michael so sullen, so worried. A look of pain shoots across his face, before he quickly recovers. "How do we destroy what we cannot find easily. Before we got close to these demons they would know what we are. They would run into hiding."
"Music, it draws them out."
I see smiles across everyone's faces. "Music we can do."
Andy looks at the guys, "I think it's time for Black Veil Brides to return."
They all nod their heads in agreement, this will get interesting.

"Andy, take CC and Jake, Jinxx and Ash with me. Search for Any signs of life, dead animals or remains, anything that would indicate demons being present. But do not engage. We only need the location for now to survey the activity. We search during daylight and do not rest until the sun is down. Let's go."
We take off in our respective teams. Carefully watching the ground for anything out of the ordinary. Occasionally flying low if the tree canopy was to thick. Masking ourselves in the process. Michael is staying with the girls, keeping tabs on them in case anything or anyone with vendetta knows where we are. As angels our link to each other is strong no matter where we are in the world. The closer you are to a particular angel, the stronger the link. Jinxx could be on the other side of the world and I could hear him as if he was standing next to me. Although our bond was always stronger than the norm anyway.
"Rayne, look."
Ash shimmers out of his mask enough for me to see where he was pointing, a small log cabin sits abandoned in the forest.
"let's take a closer look, keep yourselves masked, and stay quiet."
Slowly we descend, landing in the soft leaf litter, no signs of recent activity. I look into one of the windows and see an empty single room, full of dust. "Ok, unmask, let's go in."
opening the creaky door and stepping in you can tell someone hasn't been in here for years. The dust layer is too thick and I disturbed aside from the occasion raccoon print.
"Nothing, Damn."
"Easy Ash, we'll find the link."
"are they sure the link is male my love?"
"they are pretty sure. A succubus is the only creature capable of a gestation period of a few days. If the link was female, the gestation would be the usual nine months. There is no way they could over run hell this quickly with a human female."
Ash shudders, the thoughts of what he went through almost definitely running through his mind. "What if he's enjoying this? I've been in his shoes, as an angel I was able to deter the queen whores seduction, even just. As much as my mind hated it, my body wanted it. They could have him brain washed."
"Let's hope not. If the warrior lines are strong, he should be able to keep a straight head. All we can do is pray for that. Otherwise it'll be a fight."
"Rayne, Andy is trying to come through. They found something. Not to far north of here."
"Alright, let's go."

Andys POV

"God damn it stinks."
"hold your nose than CC." I laugh. "I wonder if this was the previous location Michael was talking about."
There was blood everywhere. Animal carcasses and a few human bodies as well, all pretty much decayed.
"They're feeding on human flesh now?"
"I don't know Jake, but that's what it looks like."
Rayne, Jinxx and Ash come through the door of the small house. She looks around and wrinkles her nose in disgust. "Ugh, well there have definitely been demons here."
"Rayne, it looks like they're feeding on human flesh now."
"Have you looked closer Andy?"
"No, we were waiting for you."
With Jinxx close on her heals, she gets close and examines the human bodies. "There is only one slash mark on these too, across the throat. The rest is just decay. Andy check the other two.
i walk over and take a closer look, same thing. "Other than a few smaller scratches and bite marks from smaller animals, the only sign of severe trauma is the slash to the throat. So if they aren't eating them, what are they here for?"
"I'm not sure. It's getting late. Let's head home and report this to Gabriel, maybe he'll know."

Raynes POV

After reporting what we found to Michael, he ran a few ideas of why there would be dead humans in the house. Only one really seemed to make sense though.
"When a human is bred to a demon, even one with a warrior link, there is still a small chance that the child will be born with no demon characteristics. It can still grow in the short amount of time like the demons would but would be week and almost mindless. As a human, they need the time to learn like any normal person would, so even as they grow to adult size, they are still infants, in all sense and purpose."
shawna gasped in shock, "That's sick."
"Yes it is, and being infants mentally and not being able to care for themselves, and the fact that to Balan they are useless, they are killing them. That's the only theory I could come up with. Demons don't eat human flesh, they feed off souls and the flesh of animals. Humans are their play things. Used for torture and sex, then the souls are consumed."
"Just lovely."
"I'm sorry Rayne, it's not news anyone wants to hear."
"No, it's not. But we found a clue, tomorrow we will start our search there. Time for some rest."
The everyone heads to their rooms, sulking at the information we had to soak in.
"Michael, are you staying the night, you can take one of our children's old rooms if you need."
"No Rayne, but thank you. I need to report these finding to the high council, and explain the theory to them. See what they say. I will be here in the morning with a few more warriors for your use. Take care of your mate tonight. My old friend seems lost."
I nod my head and see him out. I walk to my room and stop before opening the door. I hear the shower running and smile to myself. I'll make tonight about him.
I step into the bathroom quietly, removing my armor.
"I can hear you my love."
"Can't blame me for trying."
"Well our armor isn't made of fluff for one, plus I can feel your emotions."
He slides the curtain of the shower aside, standing there in all his naked glory. Pale skin standing out agains his pitch black wings and black hair. Well defined muscles ripple under his skin. His piercing blue eyes watch me intently as I strip the rest of my armor down. His breathing becomes heavier as I remove the last strip of clothing.
I walk to him, putting my hands on his chest, pushing him back farther into the shower. When I renovated the bathroom I made sure to make it big enough for 6 people, so we could fit comfortably when his wings were out. And now I realize I did a good job because with both our wings out we still have plenty of room.
I smile at the thought as I kneel in front of him, placing my hands on his hips. He moans.


Jinxxs POV

"Oh my love. "
Her touch sets my body on fire. I never could get enough of her, and with the lack of intimacy lately, I cherish every bit of contact I can get.
"Tonight it's about you Jinxx." She slides her hand down my length making me shiver, goosebumps form on my skin. She takes her tongue running it over the head before she slides her mouth down my length. I whimper from the pleasure. I pull her to me, kissing her. I pick her up and carry her out of the bathroom and to the bed, I climb over her and ease myself inside her. "I just want to be with you tonight. No projection, just us. Slow. Let me make love to you. That's what I want."
"Ok. I love you Jinxx, don't ever forget that."
"I love you too." I kiss her deeply, thrusting my hips slow, sliding in and out of her. Quiet gasps and moans escape us both with every move I make. I push into her deep, grinding my hips against her, she cries out as her orgasm rips through her. I pick up speed as I get close.

"I'm not going anywhere. I promise. We're mated Jinxx, I couldn't live without you by my side. After this mission, I'm going to take a break from being a warrior. Just so I can spend some time with you."
"You would do that?"
"you are more important to me than anything in this world, Andy can handle it without me for a while. I could use a vacation anyway." I giggle a little and he smiles. "We should wait til after the mission to tell anyone though. I told Jules, I'm sure she'll share it with Andy but that's all for people knowing."
"I can't wait for this mission to be over."
"Me too babe. Me too. Let's rest now. It's going to get hectic around here."
