A War Worth Fighting For

Ashley's POV

"Rayne, I do not like knowing we won't be by your side to fight."
"I know Ash, but we have no choice."
"My love, Andy won't even be by your side. Instead Troian will be. I'm not happy about this at all."
"You boys cannot show yourselves to the human race. But you can help them overcome demon possession. These creatures still have to possess the human before it can kill. Your music has thwarted possession before, it can do it again."
Again I have to face fact of leaving Raynes side. Over the years, I thought that fear would have subsided, especially now that she's a warrior. But no. There is still that fear in the back of my mind that if I leave her, something bad will happen, just as it has so many times before. "Can you promise to stay within sight?"
"You know I can't promise that Ash."
"Then keep your mind link open."
"I can't promise that either, what's with you?" She looked at me quizzically as all the thoughts from the past rush through my mind. "Oh, I understand. Ash, I'm not human anymore."
"That doesn't matter, you're still Rayne, you're my bestfriend, I can't loose you or let any harm come to you like it has in the past."
"He's right Ray, just as if you were still human, we all need you and want to see you safe."
"Jules, nothin will happen to me."
When I look at Jinxx to gage his reaction, I see many emotions cross his face. Pain, despair, anger, love and pride. He catches me looking and smiles weakly. I know he wants to argue her point, but he knows he'll loose.
"When you boys take the stage, throw as much emotion into the songs that you can spare. Keep those monsters coming out but keep them away from the minds and souls of the humans. the Warriors and I will be masked and watching, I will not be far from you. Troian and the demons will be masked but on the ground. We do not show ourselves unless it's necessary. And do not, ever, show yourselves unless I give the order or there is absolutely no other way. Please think wisely before making that decision. For this plan to work, you have to stay human, until this is all over. If you cannot, we regroup at home. No one goes anywhere alone or with anyone they do not know."
She made it a point to look at me. I blushed shamefully. Katie chuckled when she realized what the look was for. Wrapping my arms around her I watch Rayne intently. Andy, Jake and CC stand and take their place next to Jinxx and I. The rest of the girls behind them. Her black wings spread and she stands tall. In her hand, her platinum sword flecked in gold appears as the silver flame, a gift from Lucifer, wraps itself around the blade. Her gold and silver armor reflecting the lights of the dressing room. She is a sight to behold.
She nods and smiles her want loving smile at us before turning to head out.
"My love, wait!"
My heart breaks as Jinxx grabs her arm pulling her into a just in case goodbye kiss.
"I love you Jinxx"
"Promise you will return to me."
"I promise."
"I love you to Rayne."
