A War Worth Fighting For

Andy's POV

Watching Rayne walk out of the dressing room, I am hit with many emotons. Much like Jinxx and Ash. We all care so much for her. The thought of loosing her, not being there to protect her if anything goes wrong, bothers me more than I ever imagine. I know, she said she was no longer a human, and for a hundred years or so, I've watched her grow as the strongest warrior the heavens have ever seen.
But I still see her more as just Rayne. It's hard to see her as anything else. She took us in all those years go and helped us grow. Not only into strong warriors, but into the humans we should have been before our deaths. We owe her more than our lives, and our souls.
I smile at Jinxx and Ash, watching them watch the door she walked out of. Part of them hoping that she will walk back in and change the plans completely. Those two have grown with the help of her more than any of us, and Jinxx more than that.
"Guys, she's not coming back."
They sigh and their shoulders slump. Ash shakes his head, "We know, but we can still hope."
"It's the best plan for now. We need to make this work."
"We know Andy, it's just hard to let her go out there alone. We are her backup. No one works better with her than us."
"Ash is right, Andy. Jake and I have a hard time letting her go without us too. Don't get me wrong, I trust the other warriors, I know they will serve her well, but we know the moves she will make almost before she makes them. We are connected to her, have been since she was human."
"CC, we can't go against her orders. And she is right, the humans can't know that we are angels too, we want them to look to us in the hard times. We want them to see us pushing against the evils, as humans, not as supernatural beings. They need to be able to relate to us."
"I know, I know. It doesn't make it any easier."
"Let's get ready, we are on in an hour."

Jinxx's POV

I stare into the mirror as I line my eyes. Its different not putting on all the make up we used to. But it brings back so many memories.
My heart is fluttering in fear of whats going to happen. If these demons bring the war here, so many lives will be lost. I don't know if I'm ready to stand by and watch this. How do we encourage people to fight against these things? I've never seen first hand how or what they do.
I slam my fist down onto the counter, hard enough to hurt and bring my mind back to the here and now. "Keep it together Jinxx." We cannot fail them, I cannot fail Rayne.
"I know you won't babe. You are alot stronger than you give yourself credit for."
"You need to stay out of my head my love." I can't help or hide my smile.
"You and I both know that will never happen. I won't be far from you. You will always be able to feel me even if you can't see me."
"I know my love. I just don't like it."
I feel her retreat from my mind, and I sigh.

Rayne's POV

I can feel his sadness lingering within me as I pull my link from him. I want nothing more than for this to be over so we can spend some alone time together.
I land, not far from the venue. Thankfully this one is outdoors and in a large area. Making it much easier for the humans to escape if necessary.
"Rayne, are your warriors ready?"
I cringe at the evil dripping from his voice. "Yes Troian, ready as they'll ever be."
"And what of your mate, did he return?"
"Not that its any of your concern, but yes, he did."
"Is he ready? You know, being so far from you?"
"We aren't that far, he can feel me. I plan to keep it that way."
"Mmmhmm."
"I do not like your tone, demon. Watch yourself or Lucifer will have to find another head hellion warrior!"
"Relax Rayne, Troian will behave. Won't you?"
"Yes, sir."
"Good to see you Lucifer."
"You as well Rayne."
"Where is Widow?"
"She is not far, her chicldren are here as well. The will not run into the fray, if there is one. They will remain hidden in the shadows of the trees, and attack any of those half breeds that roam through the forest."
"Good." I remove the shoulder snap of my armor and allow Cherry to crawl out. "Are you ready?"
"Of course Rayne. I will stay put here, until we hit the ground. Although I hope we never have to land, and that these creatures will wise up and wait to fight honorably."
"Don't get your hopes up."
"Are we ready then? Troian, serve me well or suffer the consequences. You two must work as a team."
"Of course." We say in Unison, both of us still wary of the other.
"Well good, I take my leave. Let's get this handled."
I watch him retreat into the shadows, and turn to take to the sky.
"Be well Rayne, and remember, if you see Balan, his head is mine."
"You as well Troian, and remember, i can't promise you that."

Not long after, from the distance, I can hear the music start and feel the excitement from the boys as the storm the stage. The girls are standing side stage, also staying human. I watch over the crowd as they chant and cheer. When the music plays, I see about 20 or so people turn and look right up at me.
They Aren't people, and even masked they can see me.
