HEART OF FIRE

Sophie didn’t see Andy at all over the weekend or in the week. When he messaged her, it was brief because he was so busy. Sophie herself did have a hectic week at College with rehearsals for their Dance Show and as she had the lead role, she had the most work to do. So neither of them had really any free time to even talk to each other let alone see one another and it sort of brought Sophie down whenever she thought about Andy. Her teacher and classmates noticed this and when she was asked about it she said she was just missing someone.

On Friday, at the end of the day, when Sophie went to collect her stuff from her locker, Gemma caught up with her and questioned her about what she had said. Sophie told Gemma she now had a boyfriend but hadn’t seen him since last Friday and she was really missing him. Gemma hugged Sophie and congratulated her and told her not worry she would see him again soon. Gemma also invited Sophie to go shopping with her and a couple of other girls on Saturday. The girls exchanged numbers and Sophie promised she would let Gemma know.

After Gemma left, Sophie grabbed her things out of her locker and went to the girl’s bathroom. It hadn’t just been Andy on her mind… so had something else. The events of last Friday were still looming over her like a black cloud. Her insane ex was now free from Jail and had told Sophie he was coming to get her. Scared didn’t cover how she was feeling. She also didn’t want Andy to get involved.

“It will be okay,” she said to herself firmly, “he’s mad if he’s thinking of coming near me or any of the other girls he hurt. You’ve got to think positive! Think about tomorrow… you’ve been invited to go Shopping. Gemma seems like a really nice girl and you need friends. You aren’t going to get anywhere in life staying in solitude! Get some confidence!”

Sophie straightened her posture and gave her reflection a great big smile. She could do this, she could… her phone buzzed in her pocket and she jumped, letting out a shriek as she slipped on the floor and fell onto her ass and then laughed. She really was being so silly. Her phone buzzed again. She pulled it out of her pocket to see who it was… 2 new messages from Andy.

Hey babe I thought you finished at 3?

Soph, are you there?

Sophie stood up and grabbed her bag, grinning. She answered Andy as she left the bathrooms.

Yeah I do I’m just leaving the building now why?

Andy didn’t answer. Sophie left the building and was just about to message him again when she saw a very welcoming sight stood by the main gate. Andy.
Sophie ran forward and practically jumped onto him. He picked her up and spun her round before kissing her full force on her lips.

“Did you miss me?” he asked, grinning, as he put her back down. Sophie nodded and hugged Andy tight. “I did very much! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” “I wanted it to be a surprise,” Andy said, “You aren’t mad at me are you?” Sophie giggled and shook her head, “No way! I’m so happy to see you!” “Likewise my Princess,” Andy kissed her once again, in a long a passionate kiss.

“So do you have something you want to do?” Sophie asked once they finally pulled away from each other. “Well yeah actually I umm wondered if you would like to come and meet my band mates because umm well they know about you and they really want to meet you.” Sophie ducked her head blushing, “R-Really?”

Andy tilted her head up, “Yes really but if you don’t want to you don’t have to. I told them you’re not much of a people person.” Sophie smiled, “Aww babe I would love to meet your band mates and anyway I’ve told myself I’m not going to get anywhere in life hiding in solitude so I’ve resolved to get some friends and lucky me one of my classmates asked me if I wanted to go shopping tomorrow with her and some other girls. I told her I would get back to her.” “Babe that’s wonderful I’m really proud of you” “Thanks,” Sophie blushed even more, “So let’s get going shall we?”

Andy took Sophie’s hand and led her to where he’d parked his mustang, and the pair got in. It was about a 15 minute drive from the College to the studio where Andy worked with his band mates. Sophie was really nervous, she hoped they liked her. Andy was thinking the same thing, not that he would care if they didn’t. He parked round the back of the building and took Sophie in through the back entrance and up the 3 flights of stairs to the studio where he and the others did all their recording. The other four were gathered round the table talking away, until Andy and Sophie walked in.

“Hey guys,” Andy greeted them, “Nice to see you all not working.” “We decided to take a break since you technically were getting a break to by going to get your girlfriend,” Ashley answered with a grin and then added, “This must be her.” Andy nodded, “Yep… guys meet Sophie. Sophie meet my four band mates and well practically brothers, Ashley, Jinxx, Jake and CC.”

Sophie smiled awkwardly and waved, “Hi…” “Can I just saying you are extremely hot!” Ashley said eyeing Sophie up and down causing a growl from Andy. “Eyes off Ash, she’s mine!” Ashley stuck his tongue out and Sophie couldn’t help but giggle. Ashley playfully winked and Andy rolled his eyes. “Do you like cake?” CC suddenly asked, turning Sophie’s attention towards him. Sophie nodded, “Yes well it does depend on what cake. My favourite is Cheesecake, followed by Angel Cake, then Chocolate Cake. There are lots of others I like but those are my favourite three.” “Awesome! I like Battenberg, then Victoria Sponge and then Cheesecake.”

Sophie smiled and then looked at Jinxx. “Aren’t you engaged?” she asked him. Jinxx nodded and smiled, “Yes… how did you know?” Sophie grinned, “My little sister obsessed with you all and your music.” “Does she know you’re dating Andy?” Jake asked. Sophie nodded, “Oh yes and you should have seen the look on her face when she found out.” “I can imagine.” “Do any of the rest of you have partners?” Ashley and CC shook their heads, but Jake nodded, “Yeah I’ve got a girlfriend her name is Ella Cole, she’s a model.” Sophie smiled.

“So shall we get cracking then?” Andy asked, “We’ve still got a lot to do!” “What are we doing?” Sophie asked. “Work,” Andy answered, “You are more than welcome to help. If you have any inputs or even ideas just tell us!” Sophie smiled, “Really?” “Sure, why not?” “Hey Sophie,” Ashley said suddenly, “Andy told us you were in College but he didn’t say what you were studying. Can we know?” Sophie smiled at Ashley and returned his wink from earlier, “Dance.”
