One Last Kiss

Two

When it was all said and done, Ashley’d made a good enough impression on both Andy and Sandra to become the bassist of Black Veil Brides. As they sat around chatting and getting to know each other, they both opened up and said that they were homosexual, and that gave the older man the confidence to admit he was, as well. They’d have been hypocrites if they bashed him for being so when they were themselves, but even if they weren’t, they told him that they were open-minded enough to accept him, anyway.

By the time he got back to his own apartment that evening, he was tired and glad that he was no longer near Andy. Even though he was so much younger than him, he couldn’t help the attraction he felt toward him and, even though he’d admitted to being gay, he didn’t want to scare him off and jeopardize his chances of staying in the band by admitting his attraction this early.

His body, however, had other ideas. The moment he got his front door shut, he shed his clothes and left them in a messy pile by the portal, his arousal glad to have some room to move. When he was home alone, he didn’t care if he had clothes on since he was a nudist at heart, but had enough sense and respect to wear clothes in the presence of others. Considering how aroused he was, and how uncomfortable clothes were for a person as well-endowed as he in that state, he couldn’t stand the thought of keeping them on right now. Besides, it wasn’t like he had a roommate he needed to stay dressed around.

“Please don’t wanna come over tonight, Jinxx,” he moaned, taking his cock in hand before he ever made it to his bedroom.

Jinxx was one of his closest friends, and although he generally liked hanging out with him, especially since he was a pretty talented guitarist as well, he couldn’t handle it tonight if he tried. When he reached this level of arousal, Ashley couldn’t bear most of humanity because he either got short-tempered, or was just too weird and perverted to be around until he was sated.

Once he was laying on his bed, he found that, for once, he was so aroused he didn’t need any of the Playboy or Hustler magazines he kept hidden under his bed. Normally, despite being gay, he’d use something like that to help get himself off, but tonight, all he needed was the mental image and fantasies of Andy. That pale ivory skin, which was so light in comparison to his own, and those icy-blue eyes, usually hidden by the black fringe he couldn’t seem to keep out of his face…they were just too beautiful. He didn’t know why, but he’d always had a thing for blue eyes…they reeled him in and held his attention longer than tattoos, and he really liked those.

It wasn’t long before he felt the tightening in the pit of his stomach and his cock grow larger than it already was, and he knew orgasm was imminent. Without warning, it roared up his cock with such speed and strength that it literally took his breath away. He couldn’t breathe, much less make a sound, for a few seconds as he came all over his chest and belly, but that just meant he’d be sated for longer. When he was flying solo, the quieter he was when cumming, the better and more effective the orgasm had been.

“Mmmm,” Ashley finally moaned softly, his entire body falling limp on the mattress.

As his breathing and heart rate slowed to a more normal pace, he couldn’t help but wish that he’d gotten off because of Andy’s plump, pink lips being wrapped around him. Sighing softly, he finally rose from his bed and headed into the bathroom to shower. He still had his dogs, Tokyo and Killer, as well as himself to feed before calling it a night.

He had practice with his new band tomorrow, and he had to convince Jinxx to come with him since they were rebuilding the entire band and were in need of both a lead and rhythm guitarist. Even if he hadn’t auditioned for the role of bassist, he wasn’t skilled enough for lead and didn’t really like playing rhythm. Bass was his favorite and specialty, as well as vocals, and that’s what he’d auditioned for this afternoon. Thankfully, he and Andy had managed to sing in a beautiful harmony together, and since it was Andy’s band, obviously the younger man was going to be singing lead.

In all honesty, Ashley’d had enough of singing lead during his time with Stolen Hearts. Sure, he loved singing, but not enough to sing lead constantly, and he enjoyed playing while singing. In his old band, he hadn’t played any instrument, just sang, and although he’d enjoyed it, he hadn’t enjoyed it as much. When the band broke up months ago, the only reason it’d impacted him was because it was yet another lost chance at achieving his biggest dream. Now, thanks to Andy and Black Veil Brides, he felt like he had it back.

“Hey, Jinxx,” he said, his phone on speaker as he threw together dinner a short time later.

“What’s up, Ash?” the other man asked, sounding like he was making dinner as well.

“Feel up to going somewhere with me tomorrow?” Ashley countered.

“Sure. Any particular place?” he asked curiously.

“Over to a new friend’s place,” the bassist answered.

“Why do I get the feeling you’re up to something?” Jinxx asked.

“I dunno. Just bring your guitar, and maybe your violin,” he told him, a mischievous grin that his friend couldn’t see plastered to his kisser.

“Ashley Abrocket Purdy, you’d best not be trying to set me up again,” the younger man scolded.

“Not in the way you’re thinking,” Ashley laughed, tears of mirth in his eyes.

His friend was silent for a moment, clearly wanting an explanation.

“I ended up becoming a member of a band that wasn’t of my own creation today,” he explained. “They’re looking for a lead and rhythm guitarist as well, and I figure, even if you don’t get the role, what can it hurt?”

“Mmm, maybe,” Jinxx said thoughtfully.

“Besides, even if you don’t get the part, we can sit around and jam tomorrow.”

“What makes you think they’d wanna hear me?”

“The guy’s into KISS and Mötley. Enough said.” He chuckled at the memory. “Hell, I helped him learn how to play Dr. Feelgood on bass earlier.”

“The album, or the title track?” his friend asked.

“Title track. He said he’d been having issues for years, and you know me: I’m a Mötley lover and I was in Children of the Beast a few years ago,” Ashley laughed.

“Yeah, you are a Mötley freak, for sure,” Jinxx agreed, chuckling. “I’ll come with ya tomorrow, but no guarantees that I’ll play anything.”

“We’ll see about that, Jinxxy,” he said with a mischievous tone.

“Guess I better head off to bed then.” He heard a muffled yawn, knowing he’d either covered his mouth or held the phone away from his head. “See ya in the morning, Ash.”

After telling his friend good night and ending the call, Ashley sat down on his couch with his food, Tokyo and Killer jumping up beside him. They knew better than to put their little noses anywhere near his plate, no matter how good it smelled, lest they get knocked off the couch and possibly locked in their kennels, if they did it too many times.

Shortly thereafter, he finished loading his dishwasher by putting what little he’d used for dinner in it, then started it up. By this point, he was too tired to stifle a yawn of his own and, with a whistle for his dogs, headed to the bedroom to fall into bed. The cool sheets felt divine against his skin, the soft mattress cradling him like a cloud, and even with his dogs curled up on either side of him against his ribs, it wasn’t long after he turned the lamp off that Ashley dropped off to sleep.

* * *

The following morning, Ashley was up pretty early, despite not getting to bed till at least midnight. He was excited to get to jam with Andy, Sandra, and Jinxx today, and generally didn’t need much sleep after an orgasm like the one he’d had when he first got home, for some reason. Besides, he was still riding the high of a good mood from becoming part of a band again; that in and of itself would’ve had him waking up early since he usually didn’t sleep in when he was in a good mood.

After another shower to help him wake up, getting ready to go, and stuffing his face with a small breakfast since he wasn’t very hungry, he walked his dogs and gathered his things. He’d made the mistake of riding his bike with his bass strapped to his back the day before and having to use Andy’s bass amp; this time he was taking his car so he could take his own bass amp and not having to worry about balancing with the case on his back.

His smile turned into a grin as he laid eyes on the 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Mystic Cobra he’d bought back when he first moved to LA. Because of the design in the paint job, it appeared to start out black at the hood and slowly fade to a deep purple, and also appeared to have several other colors mixed in, depending on the lighting. The sweet purr of its four-point-six liter V-eight that it settled into after the initial roar of cranking it up never failed to get his blood pumping faster, and he enjoyed having five on the floor to play with, as well. Nothing like a good burnout at seven-thirty in the morning to annoy the neighbors.

“Morning, Jinxx,” he said into his phone, leaning against the hood after loading his things into his car.

“Jesus, Ashley. You weren’t kidding about heading over there early,” the younger man yawned, either having still been asleep or just rolled out of bed when he called.

“Nope. Sandra and Andy wanted me over there at nine, and I know how traffic can be,” the bassist said, grinning. “Get your lazy ass ready.”

“Have I got any other choice at this point?” Jinxx asked sarcastically, and he knew it was a rhetorical question.

“Not really. Not that I’d give you another choice, anyway,” he laughed.

“Very funny. Now lemme go so I can get ready, you dork,” his friend chuckled.

Shaking his head, Ashley ended the phone call and pulled his keychain from his pocket so he could get in his car and fire it up. He knew his neighbors couldn’t wait for him to either get rid of the car or move out, whichever came first, and that made having the beauty even more satisfying. He wasn’t getting rid of this car until it just stopped running and no amount of repairs could fix it, but they didn’t have to know that.

With an evil grin, he stomped the clutch and brake, turning the key with one hand as he pulled the door shut with the other. His most prized possession other than his bass and his babies roared to life, then settled into that sweet, orgasmic purr he loved as he stopped turning the key. Over its noise, he heard several enraged curses from the neighbors he’d woken up, and he couldn’t help but chuckle as he moved the gear-shifter to Reverse and let the clutch out slowly as he backed out of his parking space. He knew they were used to it, but it never failed to startle the Hell out of them if they were asleep when he cranked it up.

Being the evil bastard he could be when he wanted, Ashley floored it with the clutch pushed in as he got ready to exit the parking lot, his tires squealing and barking when he finally let it out again. He loved pulling burn-outs early in the morning, knowing that his neighbors wouldn’t bother calling the cops because, no matter how many times they did, it wouldn’t stop him. Besides, it only took a couple blocks for the sound of his car to fade so that they couldn’t hear it anymore.

It wasn’t long afterward, despite the heavy morning rush-hour traffic, before he pulled up in the parking lot of Jinxx’s apartment complex. His friend was already waiting outside his building with his guitar and violin cases, as well as his own amp. As he pulled into the parking space beside his car, he used one hand to pop the trunk while using the other to move his gear-shifter to Neutral, his feet depressing the clutch and brake as he slowed to a crawl. Jinxx shook his head as he walked around to the back and got his things loaded in, giving him a sleepy and sardonic smirk as he hopped into the passenger’s seat a minute or so later. He quickly closed the door and started getting himself buckled in, knowing his friend could be a bit wild when he was driving.

“So where exactly are we going?” he asked as he backed out of the parking space.

“Like I said, to the apartment of a new friend,” Ashley answered, moving the gear-shifter to first so he could head back to the parking lot’s exit.

“So I’m not even gonna know the person’s name?” Jinxx asked.

“You already do,” he told him. “I’ve said their names are Sandra and Andy at least once.”

“Oh, yeah. That’s right,” his friend said, facepalming. “Sorry, it’s early and I haven’t had coffee yet.”

“I figured as much since you sounded like you’d just rolled out of bed when I called you,” the bassist chuckled, joining the heavy traffic again.

“Am I to assume that one or both of them are your new bandmates?” he asked curiously.

“Both,” he answered. “Andy’s the frontman and played bass until I came along. Sandra’s the second drummer he’s had so far. Oh, and both of them are homosexual and would be willing to accept me, even if they weren’t.”

“Really? I’m kinda surprised.”

“Well, even if they were straight, they told me that their band plans to stand up for America’s outcasts,” Ashley explained. “It’d be pretty hypocritical not to let someone in a band like that, just because they’re gay. Especially when they’re both homosexual themselves.”

“That’s true enough, I suppose,” his friend agreed.

Just a few minutes later, he pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex he’d spent all afternoon at the day before and found an unmarked spot close to their destination. Jinxx got the message as he killed the motor and unbuckled his seat belt, so he followed his lead. He popped the trunk so his friend could get his things from it while he grabbed his bass and amp from the back seat, then made sure the car was locked before they left it in the parking lot for the day.

Having been here once before already, Ashley took the lead and beckoned him to follow as he headed up to Sandra’s and Andy’s apartment on the second floor. There were only three floors to the buildings here, which wasn’t as common as one would think in a city like LA, but at least they didn’t have countless flights of stairs to climb. After reaching the apartment he sought, he stopped outside the door and rapped his knuckles against it, a soft call to enter following moments later. Given that it wasn’t the basement-deep voice of Andy, he knew it was the drummer who’d called out to him.

When they first entered, he didn’t see either of the apartment’s residents in the living room, so he set his stuff down by the chair he’d occupied the day before and beckoned Jinxx to do the same. Moments later, Sandra walked out of the kitchen with a coffee mug in hand, looking like she hadn’t been up for very long. Upon seeing who it was, she gave him a wide grin and wrapped one arm around him in a side-hug, then turned her attention to his friend. Ashley quickly introduced the pair, his friend being his usual shy self around someone he didn’t know very well. The young woman laughed softly, telling them there was coffee in the kitchen and they could help themselves while she went and woke her lazy young roommate.

The oldest of their little group chuckled softly as he headed for the kitchen to take the woman up on her offer, hearing a distinct pounding from down the hall as Jinxx stuck to him like glue. He’d heard the same pounding and yelling the previous morning when Andy wasn’t up before his arrival, and he knew it wouldn’t be long before the baby-faced man joined them. In fact, by the time the pair joined Sandra in the living room, Andy was stumbling down the hall as he yawned and rubbed his beautiful icy-blue eyes.

There is no way this day could get any better, Ashley thought, sipping the hot brew he held in his hands, Jinxx sitting on his lap. Let’s just hope Black Veil Brides actually goes somewhere.

Wow...sorry for the waaaay late response, sugar. This site just got beyond boring for me and I almost deleted the account, but ultimately decided to just stop logging in for a while.

I'm glad ya liked this story. Believe me, I actually had to stop and take cry breaks, if ya will, while writing those two chapters. LOL! It's not often I express my emotions while writing, or even rereading an old work, but this one...it almost killed me. The inspiration behind it was no better, sadly.

Honestly, though, I haven't really been very active in writing at all. Life circumstances have pretty much left my creativity in its grave for the moment, aside from role playing with my best friend...and most Days, it's hard to come up with ideas for that. Additionally, I've moved on from BVB - they all pretty much dropped off the face of the Earth, aside from Andy, and I couldn't seem to come up with anymore killer ideas involving this band as main characters.

Feel free to send me a PM if ya wanna check other a couple other works I'm not posting here, mostly 'cuz they're not BVB-related. I'm not just gonna throw it out there in a comment so I'm not flooded with insanity. I will warn ya, though, it may be a while before I respond again - depends on when I log in again.

Happy reading and writing all the same, sugar!

I know I'm super late. But I just read this in literally two days and I love it! Accept for bawling like a huge baby in the last two chapters. I've read some of your other stuff and just couldn't bring myself to start this book because I knew Ash died. But I'm so glad I finally finished it! You're amazing. Please don't ever stop writing!

You don't have to thank me, sugar. You're not the first, and doubtless will ever be the last, to tell me that my stories make 'em wanna keep pushing on, that they give 'em the happily-ever-afters they just can't seem to find in reality. Truth be told...stories like this are really the only way I can find a happily-ever-after myself... Too bad this one had to end in a tragedy...

Much grass, sugar. I'm glad ya liked the story, and I wanted it to be just as heartbreaking as my original inspiration for it, which literally left me crying just as much as writing the last chapter and epilogue did.
