One Last Kiss

Summary

After the untimely but noble demise of his beloved husband, Andy Biersack fought to keep himself together for their young daughter's sake. His memories of his husband and their too-short time together are fond, but he prefers to put them in the recesses of his mind so he doesn't have that breakdown he's been trying to avoid.

One day at the age of sixteen, their daughter, Legacy, begs to know more about the mother she never really knew. Knowing that she was old enough to understand now, and that it wasn't fair to hide the truth from her anymore, he breaks down and agrees.

This tale is one of life, love, and laughter, but also holds tragedy. Follow their journey through Andy's tortured memories of one of the best--and worst--periods of his life as he tells his young daughter about his beloved Ashley and how, like the musically-mind man he was, used a song lyric to request one last kiss from the man he loved before his tenure on Earth was over and he had to leave.

Characters

Amy Biersack

Amy Biersack

After the death of her son-in-law, she does everything she can to help her son keep it together and raise her granddaughter to the best of his ability. Everyone knew they were close, but didn't realize just how close until Death almost tore them apart.

Andy Biersack

Andy Biersack

In his late teens, he relocated to LA with a dream and a sparkle in his eyes. Twenty-two years later, he achieved his dream, but now has tears in his eyes. With the love of his life now pushing up daisies, he fights to keep it together for their daughter, but when said daughter asks about her mama, he finds it hard to tell her anything of their past.

Ashley Biersack

Ashley Biersack

Andy's long-deceased husband. When he was alive, he was one of the quietest, but sweetest men he'd ever known, which was the main reason he fell for him as hard and fast as he did. He loved the younger man with every fiber of his being, which was why he used a song lyric to make his final wish before his tenure on Earth ended and he had to leave behind all he knew and loved...at least in a physical sense.

Chris Biersack

Chris Biersack

Like his wife, Amy, he does everything to help out with his young granddaughter after the untimely demise of his son-in-law. He's just as close to his son as his wife is, and he can see how his death is slowly killing him, but how he fights for the sake of his daughter. He worries about him like any loving parent would, but will their love be enough to help him?

Christian "CC" Coma

Christian "CC" Coma

One of Legacy's three uncles, and one of the men who knew her mama best. Like her other uncles, aunts, and grandparents, he's told her stories over the years, but none answered the questions she had. He regrets that, but knows the only one who can answer those questions is her daddy.

Ella Cole

Ella Cole

Jake's wife and one of Legacy's loving aunts. She's one of the people who's told her countless stories of Ashley over the years, sparking her interest in her mama at sixteen, but like the rest, refuses to breathe a word of his and Andy's relationship. She knows that's Andy's story to tell, and his alone.

Jake Pitts

Jake Pitts

The second of Legacy's three uncles. Like the rest of her extended family, both blood-bound and otherwise, he does his best to keep Ashley's memory alive, but doesn't answer her most pressing questions. He knows the only one who should have that right is her daddy.

Jeremy "Jinxx" Ferguson

Jeremy "Jinxx" Ferguson

The last of Legacy's three uncles. Out of them all besides Andy, he was the one hit hardest by Ashley's death because he was his best friend before he met Andy and he's got such a quiet, sensitive nature. He doesn't tell her quite as many stories about her mama, but he tells her a few and gives her the most pictures of him out of anyone.

Legacy Biersack

Legacy Biersack

The sixteen-year-old daughter of Andy and Ashley, who just happens to be the perfect mix of them in every way possible. She knows from old pictures of her mama that she's practically his identical twin, which is why it hurts for her daddy to look at her. However, she doesn't really know much about the man Ashley was and finally demands answers. (Yes, I know the picture's a girlier one of Ashley; I did that on purpose)

Sammi Doll

Sammi Doll

Jinxx's wife and Legacy's other loving aunt. She's the feminine wild card of their little family, CC being her masculine counterpart, and does her best to help Andy with the little girl after Ashley's death. She knows that she, Ella, and Amy can never replace her mama, but they do the best they can while keeping his memory alive.

Wow...sorry for the waaaay late response, sugar. This site just got beyond boring for me and I almost deleted the account, but ultimately decided to just stop logging in for a while.

I'm glad ya liked this story. Believe me, I actually had to stop and take cry breaks, if ya will, while writing those two chapters. LOL! It's not often I express my emotions while writing, or even rereading an old work, but this one...it almost killed me. The inspiration behind it was no better, sadly.

Honestly, though, I haven't really been very active in writing at all. Life circumstances have pretty much left my creativity in its grave for the moment, aside from role playing with my best friend...and most Days, it's hard to come up with ideas for that. Additionally, I've moved on from BVB - they all pretty much dropped off the face of the Earth, aside from Andy, and I couldn't seem to come up with anymore killer ideas involving this band as main characters.

Feel free to send me a PM if ya wanna check other a couple other works I'm not posting here, mostly 'cuz they're not BVB-related. I'm not just gonna throw it out there in a comment so I'm not flooded with insanity. I will warn ya, though, it may be a while before I respond again - depends on when I log in again.

Happy reading and writing all the same, sugar!

I know I'm super late. But I just read this in literally two days and I love it! Accept for bawling like a huge baby in the last two chapters. I've read some of your other stuff and just couldn't bring myself to start this book because I knew Ash died. But I'm so glad I finally finished it! You're amazing. Please don't ever stop writing!

You don't have to thank me, sugar. You're not the first, and doubtless will ever be the last, to tell me that my stories make 'em wanna keep pushing on, that they give 'em the happily-ever-afters they just can't seem to find in reality. Truth be told...stories like this are really the only way I can find a happily-ever-after myself... Too bad this one had to end in a tragedy...

Much grass, sugar. I'm glad ya liked the story, and I wanted it to be just as heartbreaking as my original inspiration for it, which literally left me crying just as much as writing the last chapter and epilogue did.
