I Dare You

"I think the lights should go over here and the D.J. should go over here," I said to my dad as I pointed.

"It's nice for you to do something out of your comfort zone. I'm proud of you," he kissed my forehead and wrote down on a notepad.

"It was kind of Janice and Andy's idea," I said as I looked at the diagram I drew for where to place the stuff.

"Sort of guessed," he chuckled,"where exactly is Janice?".

"She home. Pretty depressed about her ex-girlfriend".

"Poor Janice," he pouted then looked at me with puppy eyes," my little girl is gonna become a young lady".

"Wouldn't I be a woman?". He's eyes turned from playful to serious.

"Have you had sex?!".

"Dad!".

"Have you?!".

"No!".

"Okay then, you're only a woman once you've had sex".

"I....didn't know that".

"Well now you do so don't you ever use that word again". I nodded and continued to draw a few extra things. I quickly looked up at him and smirked.

"Woman".

"That's it!". I yelled and ran off as he ran after me. ___________________________________________

*Janice's POV*

It's been five days. Five days since I had my heart ripped out of my chest and stepped on by the girl of my dreams. Five days I've been alone without the support of anyone. Mikey's busy supporting Jayy with his music, Frank is building his relationship with Gerard, and Aphrodite is preparing for her party. Five days since I even bothered to take care of myself. Why is this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this? I sniffed and wiped my eyes. Where is everyone when I need them?

"Janice! Janice I need to talk to you!," I heard someone yell outside. Aphrodite! I excitingly just up and ran downstairs. Finally, she's here! I opened the door with a smile on my face only to be disappointed. "Oh, it's you," I said as I looked at Kimberly with a disgusted face.

"You look awful".

"Yeah well this is my 'heart broken' look. It really brings out the color of my eyes, don't you think?".

"Can we please talk?".

"About how you crushed my soul? Sure, why not?". I moved aside and let her in. I lead her into the living room and sat across from her. Look at her, still gorgeous as always.

"What you saw on Friday, it's not what it seemed".

"So you making out wIth someone else was not really happening. I understand," I said sarcastically.

"Janice! I'm being serious! He just grabbed me out of the nowhere and kissed me! I couldn't get out of his grip!".

"What were you doing there with him in the first place?!".

"He told me he was part of the prom committee and the prom committee wanted us to go pick up some lights from the carnival that some guy was selling. I thought it was weird at first, but went. As we were waiting, he started talking to me and before I could say anything, he just kissed!". She panted as she caught her breath, since she was talking really fast. I stayed quiet for a while just watching her carefully. Is she lying or telling the truth? "Please say something".

"I can't," I breathed out as tears started falling down my face," I don't know if to believe you or...or... I don't know! Do you have any idea how much you hurt me?".

"But Janice, I didn't mean for that to happen! You have to believe me! Please!".

"Please! I don't wanna cry anymore," I said as I hugged my knees. She walked over to me, pushed my head up, and kissed me. I couldn't help but to kissed her back. I can't let her do this to me. She can't just fix things with a kiss. I lightly pushed her back.

"I'm sorry," she said as she back away.

"It's okay. I just need some time to think about things," I said as I stood up.

"Is there any chance we can save us?".

"I don't think so". She nodded sadly and walked towards the door. I followed her and opened the door.

"See you later," she said as she walked out.

"See you". Before I could close the door, she put her foot in the way. I opened it again and gave her a confused look.

"I think since we might no get back together and after what happened, you at least deserve to know this".

"What is it?".

"Remember when I told you to not let Andy and Aphrodite have sex?".

"Yeah...".

"The reason I said that was because," she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and looked at me directly in the eyes,"it's all a lie". What?

"What do you mean?".

"Ronnie dared Andy to pretend to be Aphrodite's boyfriend so after they have sex, he just dumps her". I batted my eyes and gave a confused look.

"Are you serious?".

"I overheard Gerard and Andy talking about it".

"Gerard knows about this too!".

"Yeah, he tried to get Andy to tell her the truth, but I seriously doubt he did".

"That son of a bitch! How could he do this to her? He told me her cared about her! That explains why Scout was in his house the other day!". I kicked the door and grabbed my jacket.

"Where are you going?".

"I need to tell her before she makes that mistake!". I grabbed the car keys and locked my house door. As I ran toward the car, I stopped and gave Kimberly one final kiss. "Thank you". I jumped in the car and drove off as fast as I could. _________________________________________

"Aphrodite!," I yelled as I ran into her house. I ran into her living room, but she wasn't there. She must be in her room. I ran up the stairs and rushed into her room.

"Aphrodite!".

"Oh hey Janice! Haven't seen you in days! You got here right on time," she said as she poked her head out of her closet and back in. I caught my breath as I sat on her bed. She walked out with two different dresses.

"Aph, I need to talk to you".

"So I was thinking maybe something red".

"Aph, please listen".

"Or something black. I'm not sure yet, but I was also thinking".

"Aph!," I cut her off.

"Janice....what's wrong?".

"I need to tell you something". She sat down on her bed and turned towards me.

"What is it?".

"What I'm about to tell you is in no part a joke".

"Okay, spit it out".

"Andy is lying to you". She tilted her head to the side.

"What do you mean?".

"Apparently Ronnie dared Andy to have sex with after you two get together, then dump you right after". I wait for her to start crying or get mad, but she just smiled and laughed lightly.

"Nice one Janice," she nudged me as she got up.

"Aph, I'm not joking," I got up and walked up to her.

"Why would be go through all this trouble to just have sex with me, the dump me?".

"I don't know but he's doing it".

"What makes you think he's doing that?".

"Because Kimberly told me that she over heard...".

"Kimberly? As in your ex-girlfriend?".

"She came over to talk to me".

"I see what's going on here".

"What?".

"Once Kimberly left you, you've been lonely and you want me to be the same".

"What? What are talking about?!".

"Look it's not my fault Kimberly broke up with you and it's not my fault you couldn't keep her, but that doesn't mean you have to go to the extent to try to break Andy and I up". I laughed and walked around in frustration.

"Are you really saying this? Am I really hearing this from you?".

"Andy loves me and I love him. Don't ruin this for me by telling me lies".

"But I'm not lying! When have I ever lied to you?!".

"Just leave Janice! I don't want to deal with you right now!". I nodded my head.

"Okay fine," I pulled the necklace off I had around my neck she had given to me on my fourteenth birthday and place it in her hand," I guess all our years worth of friendship ends here. It was nice knowing you". I angrily walked out of her room. As I opened the front door, Andy was about to knock.

"Oh, hey Janice," he smiled widely.

"You make me fuckin' sick!," I pushed pass him and drove home.

I looked at the necklace and sat in the floor. That was it? That's how it ends? How could she lie to me this way? I thought about the night we were at the lake and tears came to my eyes. My best friend just turned on me in snap. Why?

"Aphrodite?," I heard Andy come in.

"What's wrong? What's wrong with Janice?". He sat down next to me and wrapped his arm around me shoulder.

"We're no longer friends".

"What? Why?".

"She told me that you and Ronnie did a dare that you would sleep with me and break up with me right after and I don't believe her. So she got mad and told me our friendship was over".

*Andy's POV*

I froze in shock. How did she find out?

"She was right, she's never lied to me, but I couldn't believe her".

"Why?".

"Because I love you and you love me right?".

"Of course I do!".

"I'm pretty sure you wouldn't go through all this trouble just to sleep with me". Wow, I'm a piece of shit.

"No, I wouldn't," I lied. She knows now, maybe I should tell her before it gets any worse. I can't. I can't break her heart like that, she will never forgive me. "I don't know what I'd do with out you," she hugged me. I can't keep doing this to her, but I can't tell her the truth. I won't tell her. Not now at least. I hope to get the courage to tell her soon.
