I Dare You

"How is Crystal holding up?," asked Mikey as he sat down on the lunch table.

"She's doing great actually! She's happier than I seen her in months and she's getting closer to her co-worker, Charlie," I winked.

"The sexy one?".

"Yeah".

"Wow, props to her! By the way, is the party gonna be at your house?".

Yeah, you think it's big enough?".

"Perfect!".

"You guys!," yelled Frank as he came running towards us, pulling Gerard along with him. Once he got to us, he caught his breath and smiled widely.

"So, we have some great news!". He stared happily at Gerard.

"Well, what is it?," I asked impatiently.

"We're officially a couple!," yelled Frank as he jumped on Gerard.

"What? When did this happen?," asked Mikey.

"I asked him during P.E. when we were making out behind the bleachers," smiled Gerard as he hugged Frank from behind and kissed his neck.

"I'm so glad I moved here!," Frank pecked Gerard on the lips.

"Where's Janice?".

"Here, sorry I was with Kimberly. What's going on?".

"Frank and Gerard are lovers now," smirked Mikey.

"Wow, congrats! Welcome to the dark side Gerard! Can I watch?," said Janice.

"This show isn't for free," smirked Frank as he ran his hands around his body.

"Has anyone seen Andy?," I asked. Everyone just looked at each other and said no. Where can he be? __________________________________________________

*Andy's POV*

I've been waiting here for almost twenty minutes! How long do they stay in there? Just then the door opened and everyone in the music room walked out.

"Hey, Jake!," I called out. Jake turned around and pointed at himself.

"You're the only Jake here".

"Right, what's up?".

"You know how to play guitar, right?".

"The best, according to Mr. Matthews".

"Great, I wanted to know if you can help me with something".

"Uh...sure. Help on what?".

"Well, it's Aphrodite's birthday soon and I wanted something special for her".

"What do you have in mind?".

"I wrote a song....and I wanted to see if you would could play the guitar for the song".

"Let's see it, come in," he moved to the side and pointed towards the music room. Let's see how this works out. _________________________________________________

*Aphrodite's POV*

"Finally! The weekend is here!," yelled Janice and she got on her knees and threw her fist in the air.

"We have to come back on Monday," I said as I walked pass her.

"Dammit, you're right," she said as she got up as walked along side of me.

"Did it crush your soul?".

"You crushed my non-existent soul! Where's Andy?".

"He said he was staying after school to work on something with Jake".

"Ah, the one that saved you from Ronnie. Kimberly is staying too. She said since she's in the prom committee, they have a meeting today". I wonder what he and Jake are up to. He really didn't want to tell me what they were gonna do. What if Andy is secretly gay?! That would actually explain a lot. It would explain how he keeps his skin so clean. Oh well, what should we do today? I want to take Crystal out somewhere since I know she's still gonna be thinking about Brendon.

"Aph!," yelled Janice.

"What?!".

"I said do you want to go to the carnival that's came in town for the weekend?".

"What are you? A fuckin' mind reader! I was just think about somewhere to go out with Crystal, to take her mind off Brendon".

"I am not apart of your plan?!".

"Oh shut up and let's go," I laughed as I pulled her along with me.

"Crystal! Get your prostitute self down here!," I yelled as I walked inside my house. Janice and I sat on the couch as we waited for her to come down stairs.

"What do you want?," Crystal asked as she walked down and sat in between us.

"We're taking you out, so go get ready," said Janice.

"Where are we going?".

"We're going to the carnival that's in town for the weekend". Crystal groaned.

"Can't we just stay here and watch The Notebook or something?," Crystal begged.

"If you're a bird, I'm a bird," Janice whispered to herself.

"What?," Crystal gave Janice a confused look.

"Nothing".

"Come on Chris! We can get on rides and play some of the games. Just to keep you distracted for a couple of hours," I begged. She just stared at us for a while and finally gave in.

"Fine! As long as you tell this one to stop repeating The Notebook lines to herself," said Crystal as she got up.

"I did no such thing!," yelled Janice. Crystal got up and went to go get ready.

"Where you really repeating lines for The Notebook to yourself?," I laughed.

"No! Your sister's a liar!," she yelled. I laughed loudly and shook my head. Only Janice. _______________________________________

"Holy shit that was awesome!," yelled Crystal as we got off one of the rides.

"I know! I feel like throwing up!," I yelled as I placed a hand over my stomach.

"I think I am," said Janice as she held on to a pole.

"I told you not to eat those corn dogs".

"I love corn dogs!".

"Come on, let's go to the rest room before she barfs on all the children," I laughed as I help her to the rest room. We walked and laughed out way into the rest room. Once we got inside, Janice ran inside a stall.

"Thank you got bringing me," said Crystal.

"I told you this was gonna be fun!".

"I haven't had this fun with you since....since mom". I smiled and pulled her into a tight hug.

"We'll, we're here now and having a great time!".

"You're right". Janice came out of the stall and looked as if she had a hang over.

"You okay? You look awful,"I chuckled.

"We need," she caught her breath,"to do that again," she smiled.

"Are you sure?".

"Oh yeah".

"You have some of the weirdest friends, I swear!,"laughed Crystal as we walked out the restroom.

"Which one should we ride next?,"I asked.

"We should ride the...". I looked at Janice who was staring in shock in front of her. What's going on? I looked ahead and couldn't believe my eyes. Kimberly making out with some guy! I looked over at Janice again. Tears started forming in her eyes.

"Janice....". She looked into my eyes and before I could say anything else, she ran away.

"Crystal follow her! I'll take care of this one". She nodded and ran off. I angrily walked up to Kimberly and pushed her. "Wow, was the prom committee meeting being held down his throat?!". She turned around and her eyes widened.

"Aphrodite! It's....it's not what it looks like!,"she started panicking.

"You're kissing a guy behind your girlfriend, my best friend, back! It's exactly what it looks like!".

"Aphrodite please, let me explain!".

"No! Because of you, Janice ran off, crying!".

"Oh no!".

"I never want you near her again!". I shook my head in disapproval and walked away. ______________________________________

*Scout's POV*

I watched as Aphrodite yelled at Kimberly. I signaled Jason to come towards me. He looked around and abandoned Kimberly. He smiled and high fived me.

"It's done. They're done". He leaned on the wall and pulled out a cigarette from his pocket.

"Pay backs a bitch," I smirked. ________________________________________

*Aphrodite's POV*

"Was she there?," I asked Crystal as she came out of Janice's treehouse.

"Nope," she said as she climbed down.

"Where the hell could she be?!".

"I don't know! She's your best friend, isn't she? You should know".

"We already look everywhere she could be! There's no other place".

"We'll think harder!".

"How did you lose her?".

"What do you expect? She runs fast.....and I'm out of shape. I really need to start excising again!". I sat down on the yard and placed my head on my hands.

"Where could she have gone?".

"Have she ever done this before?".

"Only once and that was when her parents divorced".

"Where did she go?". Where did she go? She came to my house that day crying, then she took me somewhere. I don't remember.

"Maybe the place she took me that day".

"Where?". "I don't remember, it was a long time ago".

"For someone who has good memory, you suck right now. Anything specific about that place that you remember?". I thought harder, but everything was a blur. Dammit! Why can't I remember?! I shook my head.

"Had she ever told you her favorite place to go?". Has she? She has! Remember! Come on, remember!

"Okay another question! Where is you favorite place to go and relax?," asked Janice as we sat in her bedroom floor.

"I like going to my grandmas house. She bakes me cookies," I smiled.

"Lucky! My favorite place to go is....the lake!".

"The lake," I said above a whisper.

"What?," asked Crystal.

"The lake! The one we went to that one weekend".

"The one that far from here?".

"That's the only lake around here!,"I yelled as I ran towards the car.

"No it's not! There this secret lake Brendon and I use to go to and have sex,"she said as she ran behind me.

"You're disgusting".

"Sex is a part of life!".

"Let's go!". We hopped in the car and drove off to the lake. Please Janice! Please be there! ________________________________________

"Just wait here, I'll go check it out," I said as I unbuckled my seat belt.

"Please hurry! It's scary out here and I'm not in the mood to be killed by Jason".

"Jason only comes out on Halloween." I said as I climbed out the car. I looked at my surrounding and shivered. It's so dark...and scary. I wrapped my arms around myself and walked ahead slowly. The further I stepped into the woods the less I could see the headlights of the car.

"It's gonna be fine. I'm gonna be okay". As I approached the lake I saw someone sitting on the bank of the lake. Is it her?! I slowly got closer. "Janice?," I asked shakily. The person turned there head and looked forward again.

"Aph, what are you doing here?," I sighed in relief as I ran toward her. I sat down next to her and wrapped my arms around her waist.

"I came to find you. I've been looking for you everywhere". She sniffed and wiped her tear.

"I...I thought she really liked me. I spend so many years focusing on her and now that I finally got the girl of my dreams, she does this to me," she broke down again and rested her head on my shoulder.

"Shhh, it's gonna be okay. You're gonna be okay, don't worry," I rubbed her back.

"Why? What did I do wrong?".

"Nothing! You did nothing wrong! You did everything to satisfy her and make her happy".

"Then why did she do this?".

"Because she's stupid and doesn't understand how lucky she is to be with someone like you. Once she realizes that, she's gonna be sorry". She wrapped her arms around my waist.

"She's probably laughing her head off right now".

"I doubt that. You just wait, karma is gonna get her soon".

"How did you know I'd be here?".

"I remember when we were twelve and you told me this was your favorite place to come and relax. That and I ran out of places to search. I was getting ready to call the SWAT team". She chuckled.

"Remember when we came here when we were like ten and promised we were gonna be best friend for ever?". I thought about it for a second and remembered.

"You're right, it was here!".

"How long do you think we'll be friend?," I asked as I twirled in the water.

"We should be friends forever!," Janice shouted in excitement.

"Yeah, that's a great idea! Let's make a promise!".

"What is it?".

"To be best friends for life!".

"Yeah! That's sounds awesome!".

"You have to pinky promise," I said as I held out my pinky. She held out her pinky and wrapped it around mine.

"I pinky promise!".

"We will always be friends," I said as chucked from the memory.

"Pinky promise," Janice held out her pinky. I laughed and wrapped my pinky around hers.

"Pinky promise".
