Love And Other Drugs

Social Media Spot Light

The dry heat of Houston, Texas was a welcome change from the constant humidity that they had been dealing with since the start of Warped Tour. It was the last day and while sad, Luxe was looking forward to heading home and spending the next few weeks relaxing with Andy. Luxe grew sad as she thought about her limited time with the singer-he and the guys were going out in mid September to tour with Bullet For My Valentine.

Luxe had been invited to come along and she was seriously considering it.

Being on the road with Andy was tempting-Luxe could enjoy the touring part, but without all of the stresses of having to get out there and sing. She and Andy could spend their days lounging around the bus or tromping around the city they were in. Then at night she would stand side stage and watch him do what he loved. They would huddle together as they walked back to the bus, stopping to greet fans before disappearing inside to cuddle up and watch a movie.

It was a dream scenario for the female singer, but honestly it probably wasn't going to happen.

Alex wanted the girls to take some time off-Mads was being sent off to rehab at the end of the tour-and get together to work on some stuff for a possible third album. Also Luxe didn't know if touring was going to be good for her-she was feeling more and more tempted by the partying atmosphere and it was only growing worse. Everyone around her seemed to be having a good time-even Andy on some nights-and Luxe was just stuck, playing the babysitter.

Ashley and CC were especially getting wild-drinking all night long and fucking anything that had nice tits and a vagina. CC had broken up with his girlfriend, Lauren, just so that he could have a good time and live life-as he liked to say. It was their business and Luxe was all about having a good time, but her good time seemed to land her in the hospital.

Luxe shook her head, trying to erase that terrible time from her brain as she focused on the boys. They were doing their last show on the tour and Luxe smirked as she watched them rock it harder than ever.

Andy was standing on the front grid of the stage, his arms open wide as his screaming face was titled up towards the pale, cloudless sky. He looked like a God standing there and Luxe knew that for some of the girls in the audience he was. To Luxe, Andy was just a tall, skinny guy with a weird Batman obsession and a smile that had the ability to make her knees weak.

Luxe smiled as Andy turned, noticing that she was standing there and she only gave him a tiny wave. He tossed his head back, his blondish brown hair shining in the sun and Luxe giggled as she noticed that he was running towards her.

His face was beet red, his nose sunburnt again, but his blue eyes were sparkling as he rushed towards her. His lips were on her own quickly, kissing her softly before he ran off in the direction of the front of the stage. Luxe felt breathless as she stood there, her sunkissed legs bare except for the pair of white highwasted shorts she was wearing.

Luxe tucked a piece of her long blonde hair behind an ear, gazing out in to the crowd, but what she saw made her smile fade. A few fans had noticed that Andy had come to her during a break between songs and they did not look pleased.

This was nothing new, but Luxe hadn't experienced it in a while. When she and Andy had broken things off, there were fans that were sad, but there were also a lot of fans that were happy. Andy was single again and their thirteen year old hearts sped up at the thought of him possibly choosing one of them. Luxe always laughed it off, but when she and Andy started being seen together around LA and all summer on Warped, her laughter died in her throat.

Mean and nasty comments on her Instagram. Harassing Tweets. Hate pages dedicated to her and only her and worst of all...people telling Andy that she wasn't good for him. Luxe understood the last claim-she was a recovering drug addict and someone who could relapse at any time, but she was trying and that had to count for something.

Some of the other things people were saying about her just made Luxe angry-like the fact that it was now being said that she didn't sing her own songs or that her voice was auto tuned. Of course it's true that there's always fine tuning in the studio and no one is going to sound identical live, but Luxe always sang her own songs.

There were also rumors going around that she was pregnant with Andy's baby and of course she had to laugh these off. She had been photographed on a bloat day-probably during her period-and now people were saying she was knocked up. What?! Something that made it worse was the fact that people were saying she got pregnant to keep Andy in her life, which was so absurd it bordered on insulting. Luxe and Andy loved one another, deeply, but they had agreed that something they weren't ready for was a family.

Other insults were thrown her way-she was over weight, she was too skinny, her hair was fake, her boobs were fake, she was using Andy for fame...all of it hit her social media on a daily basis.

Luxe just shook it off, keeping the smile on her face as she tried to not let it bother her. Fact was that it bothered her a lot-she had really loved a lot of these fans and now they were turning on her and in a pretty vicious way. Looking out towards the stage, Luxe could see that it was almost time for the boys to finish up and she knew it would end with her favorite song off of their new record.

A hush fell over the crowd as Andy addressed them and Luxe tried to focus on him.

"Houston! You guys have been so fucking awesome today!" Andy said in to the mic and the crowd screamed back at him. They loved this man and Luxe could understand why.

"So this is not only our last show on this tour, but it is the last day of Warped Tour..." The crowd sounded sad and Andy only smiled as he waved at them.

"I know, I know. Warped is such a special thing in our lives-it's the one day out of the year where we can all come together and not be judged for the things we like or the way we look. But! You guys have been so fucking awesome and we want to go out on a good note. This is In. The. End!" Andy screamed the last part and Luxe couldn't help but tap her toes as the guitars began to wail.

In the end
As my soul's laid to rest
What is left of my body
Or am I just a shell?
And I have fought
And with flesh and blood I commanded an army
Through it all
I have given my heart for a moment of glory

Luxe loved this song-it was the perfect song for her life right now. It spoke of an end to something in her life and truly made her think of what could of happened. She could of died, her life could of easily been over and it would of been because of something stupid. She had been wild and crazy, but she had let it get the best of her and as Luxe stood on the side of that stage, she promised to herself silently that that would never happen again.

Tears sprang to her eyes as Luxe listened to the song finish out, hearing Andy's voice become one with the crowd in front of him.

Who will remember this last goodbye
'Cause it's the end and I'm not afraid
I'm not afraid to die

Not afraid
I'm not afraid to die
No not afraid
I'm not afraid to die!

It was so amazing to see this crowd in front of her, practically worshiping the band on that stage and Luxe knew she was seeing something that not many got to experience. They would hold their hands out, begging for a simple touch from any of the guys and their faces would light up when Jake or Ashley would reach out. The amazing thing was that the guys had been through so much together as a band, but they were able to still get out on that stage and pretend like nothing was wrong.

"Have a good day guys!" Andy said as he saluted the crowd, placed the mic back in it's stand and then ran over towards her.

Andy grabbed her, his sweaty body pressing against her own and Luxe placed her head on his heaving chest. They just stood there, hugging one another tightly and while Luxe knew that the fans could see them and were probably taking pictures, she didn't fucking care. She and Andy had made it-they had survived the summer and now it was time to head home, unpack and decompress.

The couple broke apart slightly, but Andy still had a firm hold on her with his arm wrapped around her waist as the two of them began to walk away from the stage. Luxe could feel her phone vibrating in her pocket-notifications from her social media-but she ignored it.

"We survived!" Andy laughed, tossing his head back and Luxe only smiled as she got splashed with his sweat. They had survived-in so many ways.

"Party time!" CC said as he walked past them, a red cup already in his hands. Luxe only shook her head-at least he could keep it under control...most of the time.

"What do you want to do tonight?" Andy asked as they rounded a corner. There were fans hanging out by the gate and the two of them stopped their conversation to greet the few people who were calling out to them.

"I dunno. Prom?" She asked and Andy only smiled. He had never been to his own prom and he knew that Luxe's history with school dances had never been very good. It would be fun to get all dressed up and to spend the night with his lady-dancing the night away.

"Sounds good to me. I'm just happy we're finished." Andy said, kissing the side of her head as they headed back towards the bus area.

It was a mad house back there-everyone was packing up and getting ready to hit the road.

Tonight would be the end of Warped Prom, which most people attended, and then they would wake up the following morning to catch flights back to wherever. Andy and Luxe were flying home to LA, Jake was meeting up with Ella in Hawaii. Char, Pixie and Lulu were going with Jinxx to England while Ash and CC were hitting up Vegas for a few days. Mads was begrudgingly going out to Colorado for her stint in rehab, which was something they were all hoping would work for the troubled drummer.

"Me too...I can't wait to get home." Luxe said as they walked across the steamy asphalt lot, their two busses coming up in the distance.

"You given any thought to coming out with us in a month?" Andy asked as they reached the BVB bus and he stopped to turn to her.

Luxe could only smile-she wanted to be with Andy every moment of every day, but the fans didn't seem to like that idea. Besides her sobriety was important to her and Luxe feared that a two month long tour with the party boys would send her spinning out of control.

It would be unavoidable either way...

Notes

Should Luxe go with Andy and risk her sobriety for a few months with her man? Or should she stay home and work with the girls on their coming album?

Tell me in your lovely review<3

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
