Summary

Lucinda Abernathy is twenty and a nobody. Down on her luck with no family, no friends and no future, she finds herself working in a diner for what will probably be the rest of her life. That is until Alex McFaden, a big shot record producer, finds himself listening to Lucinda sing as she works and he offers her a deal to end all deals. The chance to get out of her small town, join a group of girls and possibly make a new future for herself. Will she take it? Or is Lucinda just too comfortable in her small town nobody life to take a chance on fate?

A band going on tour to support their second album and a band that the girls are not too fond of. What will happen when their paths cross over and over again?

Charlotte "Char" Rouse

Budding Guitarist for a rising band that Alex McFaden is trying to put together. Funny, good with makeup and has a no nonsense attitude.

Lucinda "Luxe" Abernathy

From Cornerstown North Carolina-small town USA. Has no friends and works for tips in the small local diner, but she has a set of pipes on her that could get her places.

Madeline "Mads" Walters

Drummer for the rising band that Alex McFaden is trying to get going. She is loud, rude, crass and doesn't give a fuck what you think about her.

Penelope "Pixie" Stuart

Guitarist for the up and coming band that Alex McFaden is trying to put together. Quiet until she gets on stage, she loves to play with her hair color and yours.

Talula "LuLu" Winters

Bassist for the rising band that Alex McFaden is trying to get together. She smiles and laughes easily and is overall one of the nicest girls ever.

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

This was probably the first stories I read here. Every chapter was amazing, and you just as an amazing writer. Thank you for making such an amazing story. It felt so real to be part of the life of Luxe and the Dolls!!

I'm pretty sure I've done nothing but cry while reading these last few chapters. You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
