Love And Other Drugs

"Do we really have to fucking do this?" Char asked from behind her and Luxe only sighed and nodded as she turned around to face her bandmates. They were outside of the buses, standing in between the BVB bus and their own and Luxe had had enough. They needed to play nice and the girls were making it even more miserable than it needed to be.

"Look he invited you guys and besides-you might find that you like them more than you think." Luxe said as she turned back around and continued to walk towards the door of the big black bus that she would be spending the night on. She didn't have anything in her arms to sleep in because Luxe kept a pair of pjs on the bus.

"Doubt it." Luxe only smirked at Mads, who was the least willing and was only tagging along because Char made her. Finally Luxe reached out a hand and knocked on the bus door-Andy had told her just to come in, but it felt weird to just barge on to something that wasn't hers.


The girls waited until finally the bus door popped open and Andy was standing before them. His long hair was back behind his ears, some of it sticking up in the back almost as if he had been laying down. He was dressed in a black The Damned shirt that was tight across his chest and his black jeans had holes in the knees. He smirked at Luxe, reaching out to grab her hand as he pulled her up first and the small girl only nodded her head and walked on to the bus. Andy stayed behind to help the other girls get on the vehicle, so Luxe just went ahead and entered the front lounge.

Luxe noticed that all of the guys were sitting around the kitchen table-Ashley and CC on one side, while Jinxx and Jake were sitting on the other. They had cards sitting all over the table and there were beer bottles and shot glasses littering the counters. Since her first night on the bus, Luxe had noticed that the guys tried to keep the place decently neat, but it was obvious that they didn't really care about the other Dolls and what they thought like they did with her. Luxe cleared her throat and noticed that CC, who was facing the door from his seat, looked up and smirked at her, waving a hand her way.


"Luxe! Come and join us doll!" He called out to her and she only smiled as she approached the group and looked down. Poker-Texas Hold 'Em by the looks of it and Luxe only smirked. Her father had been a major scammer and he often took Luxe to the tables when she was a kid-his form of babysitting her while her mother was out turning over a profit in the dive bars she worked at.

"Deal me in?" She asked as she passed by the table and moved to the fridge to get a beer. Luxe had spent a few nights on this bus and so she felt comfortable enough to move around, but the guys rarely had much to do with her. She knew they were being nice to her for Andy's sake, but CC and Jinxx seemed to genuinely like her for the most part.

"You need a tutorial?" Ashley asked her as he dealt her cards and Luxe only smiled shyly and looked down at her cards before looking at all of the guys sitting around the table.

"N-no...I think I got it. I've only played a few times, but it was fun so I'll give it a try..." She said with a fake shyness and a slight smile. She was going to wipe the floor with them before the night was done and as the other girls all walked on to the bus and took seats around the front lounge, Luxe knew this was going to be interesting.

"Where are you going to sit?" CC asked and then grunted as he got his answer. Luxe smirked as she dug her boney ass into his knees and soon enough CC had moved over and Luxe was sitting between Ashley and him. Andy was standing over the table, silently watching her every move with a small smirk on his lips.

"Alright...lets play." Ashley said with a devious smile her way and Luxe only nodded her head and caught Char's eye. The guitarist knew that Luxe was a shark-they had gone to a few casinos when they had hit Michigan and walked away with a cool five grand thanks to Luxe and her keen eyes.


The game became intense-Jinxx and Jake soon dropped out and CC moved over to the other side of the table and sat across from Ashley. Andy had taken a seat and out of the corner of her eye Luxe could see that the girls were talking to both Jake and Jinxx. Pixie and Lulu were talking to Jake about his guitars, while Jinxx was listening to come ridiculous story that Mads and Char were trying to tell him.

Luxe only focused on her cards and smiled as she placed one on the table and drew another. Perfect, simply perfect. She was feeling pretty good, by her cards and by the amount of alcohol that was swimming in her system. Three beers and a couple of shots of Jack and the room was now spinning.


"I'm out man." CC said as he placed his cards down on the table and Luxe only smirked. One left-Ashley and sadly he had a pretty good poker face.

"Alright-just me and the Doll now." Ash smirked over at her and Luxe noticed that everyone had surrounded them. Luxe quickly moved to take CC's spot so that now she and Ashley were across from one another and Luxe noticed that Andy took his seat beside her and glanced at her cards. He didn't play poker so he honestly had no clue if her hand was good or bad.

"You ready Purdy?" Luxe asked with a sly smile and then smirked as Ash just nodded and placed his cards down. He had a flush facing up and Luxe only smiled as she bit down on her lip ring and looked at him.

"Whatcha got Luxe?" He asked and Luxe got a worried look on her face and bit down on lip ring even more. Ashley got a triumphant look on his face as he moved to get the few bills sitting on the table and that's when Luxe laid her cards down and watched his face fall.

"Royal Flush-thank you very much." She said as she collected the bills right out of his hands and there was a massive amount of cheering coming from behind her.

"I-I was so sure you had no idea what was going on..." Ashley said, obviously dumbfounded and Char just burst out laughing.

"Man you got played!"

"Yeah Ash-nobody beats Luxe...just ask our crew!" Pixie was giggling and Mads was smirking so wide her cheeks were hurting.

"I don't get it." CC said as he passed Luxe another beer. The room was spinning and she wasn't sure if it was from her victory or the alcohol.

"Luxe is a card shark-best one around." Char explained as she stood up straight and pulled down her hoodie. It was time for them to get on their own bus, but they wished Luxe could come with them.

"Yeah-my dad trained me well. You girls heading out?" Luxe asked as she turned around and noticed that her bandmates were slowly walking towards the doors.

"Yep-thanks for the beers guys. Next time you'll have to hit up our bus for a game or two!" Char said as she tossed an arm around Mads shoulder. Pixie hugged Luxe from her spot and Lulu waved at Luxe and then at Jinxx shyly before exiting and shutting the bus door behind her.


The guys all moved around her, getting more drinks and Luxe realized that she had drained her beer and was being handed another shot. Her head was beginning to feel fuzzy and she was seeing double, but Luxe found herself laughing along with the guys and wanting to fit in with them. Whether she liked it or not Luxe was stuck on this bus at least a few times every week and she was going to have to make the best of it. As she sat there, Luxe noticed that Andy had one arm around her shoulders and his other hand was gripping on to the bottle sitting on the table in front of them.


"So Luxe-tell us about yourself..." Jake said as he sat down across from the obviously tipsy girl and noticed that she had been staring into space. The girl was going to be around since Andy had no balls and so Jake knew he and the other guys might as well try and get to know her a little bit.

"I-uh-I'm from Bufford North Carolina. Only child-parents are drug addicts and crooks. Not really much else." She said and the silence in the room was so heavy that it had the ability to crush them all.

"But you were friends with Lulu-so that was pretty awesome right?" CC asked and Luxe began to laugh. She didn't know why it was so funny to her, but it just was and she was so focused on her laughter that Luxe couldn't even put much thought into her answer.

"Lulu?! I'd never even met her until Alex tracked me down and brought me out to LA. The girls had already formed a band...I was just brought in because they needed a singer!" She was still laughing and Andy wished that he could carry the poor girl off to bed before she said anything else she wasn't supposed to.

"So Alex brought you...planted you in the band..." Ashley said as he caught Andy's eye and they both just looked at one another. They knew something was off about the Dolls and it seems they were right.

"Yep-gave me a makeover, told me how to dress, walk, talk...the whooooole shebang." Luxe said and then hiccuped before pushing Andy on the shoulder slightly.

"So this isn't how you really look?" Ashley pressed and Andy just wanted to put a stop to this. Luxe was obviously very drunk and not aware of what she was saying and it wouldn't be fair to hold anything against her.

"Nope. Well yes-I have blonde hair, but the piercings and the clothes came after I joined the Dolls. Move babe..." She made eye contact with him and Andy suddenly realized that Luxe was trying to get out of her seat.

"Where're you going?" He asked as he moved aside and watched as she stumbled and then grabbed the table to right herself.

"Bed. Goodnight guys...night babe." She said before grabbing him on either side of his face and planting a very long and wet kiss on his lips. Andy stood, shocked, as he watched Luxe disappear towards the back of the bus, heard her cuss and then there was silence.

"I fucking told you there was something up with that band!" Ash hissed at him, but Andy paid the bassist no mind. He was worried about Luxe-she'd had alot to drink and seemed really out of it. Quickly he got up, tossing his empty beer bottle into the trash can, but stopped as Ashley had reached out a hand and grabbed his arm.

"Let me go man." Andy warned as he yanked his skinny arm out of Ash's grasp and flicked his black hair out of his face.

"You going after her? Even after what she just told us?" Ashley sounded offended and Andy only nodded his head as he too disappeared towards the back of the bus.


One look in Luxe's bunk and Andy found that she wasn't there-a quick look into the back lounge showed she wasn't there either and now he felt nervous. Not in the bathroom and finally after searching all of the bunks besides his own, Andy sighed in relief as he pulled back the curtain on his bunk and found Luxe there, curled into a tight ball and fast asleep. Not having the heart to wake her or the energy to move her, Andy only sighed and climbed in. He would lay there all night-unsleeping, but he knew that for some reason laying beside this girl he knew very little about just felt right.

It felt like he belonged finally.

Notes

Luxe...such a big mouth when she drinks. So, now the guys know that the Dolls aren't really what they seem. Will they keep it to themselves or will they use it to their advantage and get the girls taken off the tour and out of the business for good?
