Love And Other Drugs

God Bless You

Andy remained outside until the Dolls were off the stage and Jon came looking for him. They had ten minutes between sets and so Andy knew he should probably get in there and redo his warm ups. He just couldn't face them-any of them. Not the guys, not the Dolls, certainly not Luxe and he would fucking kill Alex if he saw the worm any time soon. As Andy opened the stage door and let it close behind him, he could hear the crowd chanting for him and the guys. It was nice to hear that again-Warped Tour had been rough and while they had a large out pouring of people, it just wasn't the same. This was their first World Tour headlining and Andy was going to kill anyone who fucked it up for him.

CC and Ash were the first to see him approaching and Andy shot them both down with a single look-he didn't want to talk about it. That 'it' was the kiss between he and Luxe at the end of their duet and 'it' was never going to fucking happen again. The girls were standing nearby, whispering as they looked at him from over their shoulders and Andy noticed that Luxe was nowhere to be found. Slowly he watched as the pink haired one-Pixie-left the group and began to walk towards him. He didn't fucking need this shit right now. Andy turned towards the small girl, crossing his arms over his chest and he scowled at the small girl as she stopped in front of him.

"What do you want Pixie?" Andy growled through gritted teeth, but the small girl wasn't fazed. She was here to defend her friend, not make nice with the asshole singer.

"I want you to not be mad at Luxe." She said simply and Andy had a hard time holding his laughter. The five minute warning was called out and Andy could see that the guys were getting ready to go on.

"Why shouldn't I be? She hates me, yet she kisses me without talking to me about it. How does she know I don't have a girlfriend?" Andy asked and Pixie only rolled her eyes. Andy looked around, Char was glaring at him and Mads said nothing but only ran her finger across her neck as a warning.

"She didn't want to kiss you...Alex...Alex made her do it." Pixie said, frustration lacing her words but Andy wasn't buying it. Luxe was a tease and liked to fuck around with people-it was as simple as that.

"Hey-whatever. She got what she wanted-you guys had a good show and she'll be linked to me by tomorrow morning. It'll be great for her career." He smirked at the small girl and she only looked at him with a look of pure hate on her elfin features.

"You really are a tool." She said as she turned on her heel and Andy only laughed. These girls-they would never fucking survive this tour.

Andy just gave the girls a one finger salute as he downed a bottle of water and began to stretch. His long arms went over his head, the muscles protesting but he pushed them anyways. All of the guys were standing around, adjusting strings and making sure that everything was in order. Finally their intro started and Andy noticed that Luxe had reappeared, but with her eyes covered in a pair of sunglasses.

Alex was walking behind her, one hand behind Luxe while the other was motioning to the girls to come to the side of the stage. Luxe avoided Andy's gaze and as she turned to look at Char, Andy could see that her skin was red and wet with tears. Why would she be crying about kissing him? She had gotten what she wanted...why cry about it now?

"What the fuck is up LA?!" Andy called out to the crowd once he got on to the stage and everyone in front of him went crazy.

"Now I'm sure you guys enjoyed The Hollywood Dolls-" More screaming and Andy held up a hand to quiet them all.

"-but it's pretty clear that you guys are really here to see us!" He finished and the crowd all screamed and shouted. Andy just smirked as he looked over his shoulder at the girls and then CC kicked into the first song.

They played their first few songs and the crowd seemed to be loving it. They had never played a set this long, but since Alex decided that the Dolls would play fifteen songs, then so would BVB. The only song Andy wished they had left off of the list was Mortician's Daughter, but they needed a slower song to balance things out. Just as the guys were finishing up All Your Hate, Andy got an idea. If Luxe was going to make a mockery out of him in front of an entire crowd of people, then he was going to do the exact same thing to her. As the song ended, he held up his hand to the guys, signaling that he needed to speak.

"So as you guys know, sometimes in life people will disappoint you, let you down or worse...use you for their own personal gain. Well I've experienced this last one myself recently and all I can say is that it fucking sucks. So this song is dedicated to those people out there-who use and abuse others to make a name for themselves. This song is called God Bless You." With that CC and Jake both went in to it and Andy looked to the side of the stage as he began to sing.

We're all told that when we die
We leave to a better place
And all I know is what you left
A love I can't erase

All the same in love and war
Burn my name and ashes scorn

You left me with these broken lies
And I let you
I've got no more time for your goodbyes
So God Bless You
God Bless You

Shed those faded memories
This is your curtain call
I've had enough of sympathy
It's time to watch you fall

With every word he sang of that song, Andy just kept looking back at Luxe and hoping that she was listening to his words. By the look on her face and the fresh tears going down her cheeks he knew for a fact that she got his message and he was glad. He hated to see her cry, but he hated her more and that hate was fueling his fire right now. The audience was loving it, singing along and screaming and soon Andy found himself on the floor, rolling around and pumping his hips in to the air. She wasn't going to mock him anymore-she wasn't going to sip off of his fame any longer, he would make damn sure of that.

The rest of the show went on without a hitch and the Dolls stood side stage for it all, with Alex right behind them. Andy knew that he was probably going to get an earful from both Alex and Jon later, but he didn't give a shit. Andy enjoyed himself, except when it came time to sing MD and then he got teary eyed. He wiped at his eyes and he hoped no one noticed, but Andy knew that the guys understood. He had written this song for a girl who had meant the world to him-she had been everything to him and yet she had torn his heart in to tiny pieces and tossed them in to the air while she walked away.

As they went in to Fallen Angels as their encore, Andy enjoyed messing with the crowd and making them scream and shout right along with him. His favorite song to perform had been Savior and he was happy that Jinxx had suggested playing it. It was a slower song, but reaching out and grabbing the hand of a crying girl in the front row as he sang allowed Andy to really connect with these kids. The guys all thanked the crowd, tossing out drumsticks, pics, towels and water bottles before walking to the side of the stage and pushing past the Dolls to head to their dressing room.

"Andy! Andy we need to have a discussion!" Someone was calling after him and Andy whipped around, his black backpack in his hands as now they had made it back to the room and he needed to pack up his makeup.

"No. No we don't." Andy said as he towered over the music manager standing before him and Alex backed up a few feet.

"You and Luxe looked great out there! I don't understand what the problem is!" Alex called out to him as Andy walked across the room and began to stuff his things into his bag. The other guys had walked in to the room, all ignoring Alex while the Dolls stayed in the doorway behind their manager.

"The fucking problem is that I'm not your fucking puppet! That girl may be okay with following you around and doing your bidding, but I'm a real fucking musician and I don't need this shit!" Andy snarled and Alex only stood there, an appalled look on his greasy face.

"Dude...Andy isn't a prop...let it go." CC said as he passed the manager on his way out and clapped him on the shoulder. Andy only laughed as he zipped up his bag and noticed that Luxe was looking at him. Her sunglasses had been removed and her grey eyes, while still red, were staring him down with anger and rage.

"These girls are real musicians!" Alex called out to the room, but Andy noticed that all five girls were just standing there, trying to find something else to focus on.

"Real musicians don't follow orders from someone who doesn't even know how to play an actual instrument." Andy said as he walked up to Alex, but the manager wouldn't move.

"We aren't finished here Andy." Alex said as he moved his hand to grab Andy's shoulder, but the singer was faster. He swatted the ringed hand away from him, glaring at the music producer before pushing Luxe and Lulu to the side.

"We are beyond finished. I will do the duet with Luxe because that's what Jay wants, but I'm not her boyfriend and I'm not going to act like it. You want her to kiss someone? Then give her some time to get her claws in to some poor guy to play the part and leave me the fuck out of it." Andy said before disappearing down the hallway.

Luxe had just stood there, listening to Andy's words and letting them sink in. What he had said had hurt her-she considered herself a very good musician and a good person in general. She knew Pixie had tried to talk to Andy after he came back from his temper tantrum, but he had pretty much refused to talk about the kiss. She hadn't wanted to kiss him and it had been Alex pressuring her and refusing to let up that finally pushed her to do it, but Luxe couldn't deny the fact that it hadn't been a bad kiss.

His lips had captured hers perfectly, their lips rings rubbing against one another lightly and his long fingers had touched her skin gently. It had made her feel something she had never felt before-alive. Luxe only entered the room after Alex, moving to get her things gathered so that they could get on the bus and head out to their next venue in Northern CA. Luxe loved performing and she loved being on the stage, but if she had to kiss Andy every night and if they were going to have this fight every single time it happened, then she was going to really hate doing her job.

But she wasn't going to mind kissing him again. She would just never admit it.

Notes

Andy's an ass and a completely stubborn one at that. Come on guys...I know you can review better than this!

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

I'm pretty sure I've done nothing but cry while reading these last few chapters. You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
