Meeting the Parents

Andy and I pulled up in front of a nice looking house on a quiet street in Ohio. It looked ordinary, like somewhere that I wouldn't expect Andy to live. I really wanted to see his old room and what his life was like before Black Veil Brides.

"So, you ready?" he asked me, as I stepped out of the car.

"Yeah, I guess," I said, as he put his arm around my shoulders and walked to the door, ringing the doorbell. A friendly looking woman opened the door and smiled when she saw Andy.

"Hi mom," he said, giving her a hug.

"Hi Andy, it's so good to see you again. And you must be Scarlette, I'm Amy," she said, looking at me.

"Yeah, I am. Hi," I waved and she surprised me by engulfing me into a hug. I saw Andy looking at me and so I mouthed, "I like her," and he grinned.

"Why don't you come inside, lunch will be ready in a few minutes," she said, letting us into Andy's old house. A man came up to us and gave Andy a hug, I was guessing that he was his dad.

"Well hello there Scarlette, I'm Chris, Andy's dad," he said, shaking my hand.

"Hi," I smiled at him and he went to go help his wife in the kitchen. "You can show Scarlette around Andy, if you still remember," Chris winked and Andy laughed.

"Yeah dad, I do, don't worry! We'll be upstairs," he called, and he gestured towards the stairs. I climbed up, and he then led me to the door at the end of the hall.

"So, is this the place I've been waiting to see?" I asked, smirking at him. The door behind him had a Batman logo sticker on it so I was pretty sure I knew who's room it was.

"Yeah yeah Scarlette, but you're in my house now so behave," he warned and I laughed, pushing him aside and opening the door.

The room was what I expected. The walls were covered in posters of Batman, Motley Crue, KISS, and Black Veil Brides.

"Why would you hang up a picture of yourself on your wall?" I asked, turning to him.

"I look amazing in that photo, come on," he said and I laughed.

"Yeah, I guess you do," I shrugged.

"You guess?" he asked.

"Nah. I know," I said and he smirked.

"I'm irresistible, I know," he said.

"Now now Biersack, let's not get too self-confident," I said, and he shook his head.

"Well Scarlette, you pretty much despised me at first and look at you now, you just couldn't resist my amazing looks and talent."

"Whatever," I said, turning around. "Hey, what are these?" I asked, noticing scribbles on the wall next to his bed. (Which had Batman sheets on it, by the way).

"Oh, those are song lyrics. When I'd get inspiration and have no paper, I'd write them there," he said. I smiled as I read them, recognizing the lyrics to The Mortician's Daughter on the wall.

"Well this is really cool Andy," I said and then I felt someone push me from behind, making me topple onto the bed. I looked up and saw Andy on top of me with a mischievious smile on his lips, smirking at me.

"Oh, hi," I said, looking into his eyes.

"Hey," he whispered and tried to kiss me. I turned my head at the last second so he kissed my cheek, and then groaned. I laughed at him.

"You're such a tease," he growled, making a shiver go up my spine.

"Sorry Andrew," I smirked. He glared at me.

"Andy? Scarlette? Lunch is ready if you want to come downstairs," Amy called.

"Coming mom," Andy called.

"You heard your mom Andy, get your fat ass off of me," I said.

"I don't always listen to my mom," he said, running his hand up my thigh to try and distract me.

"Andy, seriously, this is your parent's house," I said, exasperated.

"It's also my house," he pouted. I pecked his lips and pushed him off me, getting up.

"Come on Biersack, I'm hungry," I said, walking out of the room.

"When aren't you hungry Scar?" he questioned me and I laughed.

"Never. I love food and I'm going to marry it," I said.

"We'll see who you end up marrying babe," he said as we walked downstairs.

The table was set and Amy was just bringing the food to it. We all sat down and ate.

"Wow Mrs Biersack, this is amazing," I said, after finishing my plate.

"Oh please, call me Amy. Mrs Biersack makes me sound old," she said and I laughed.

"So, how's tour Andy?" Chris asked.

"It's really great. We have 4 months left of it. We're touring with Scarlette's band and they're all really cool," he said.

"Have you ever been out of the US?" Andy's dad asked me.

"Only to Canada. But I'm really excited for the European part of this tour which is happening in 2 months," I said, smiling.

"And how did you two meet?" asked Amy, and I blushed, remembering the first time I met Andy Biersack.

"Well this is an interesting story," Andy smirked. "Basically, I walked in with the rest of my band to meet Scarlette and her band, and she spit her Starbucks all over my favourite white shirt," he said and my eyes widened.

"Andy!" I exclaimed.

He shrugged, laughing. "That's what happened!"

"Oh really?" asked Chris, amused.

"Well, yeah. Honestly, when we first met, I hated him and he ended up hating me for some time. Eventually we got over that though," I said.

"Yeah, and now we've been together for almost half a year," Andy said, smiling.

"Well, I'm glad you did sort things out. You two are good for each other, I can tell," Amy said, smiling at us both. "So, can we expect any grandchildren soon?" she joked, which would have been funny and awkward, but it wasn't. The smile was wiped off my face and I started to feel sad again.

"Excuse me for a second please, I'm just going to the bathroom," I said quietly and walked out of the room quickly, trying to keep it together. I went upstairs to the only other room I knew in the house, Andy's room. I stepped out onto the balcony and breathed in the fresh air, trying to relax.

Five minutes passed. I decided that I should go back, they would be wondering where I had gone. Suddenly, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist, and rest their head on my shoulder.

"Scarlette? Are you alright?" I heard Andy's concerned voice say from behind me.

I sighed. "Yeah. I am. Sorry, I was being rude. We should go back," I said, but he stopped me.

"No Scar, you're not. I'm sorry, but my parents were confused so I had to tell them."

"That's okay. I guess we had to tell them sometime," I said, turning around. "It's just still kind of a.... sensitive subject right now."

He pulled me closer to him and hugged me tightly. I got that feeling that I was safe from everything again, which happened everytime we hugged. "It's okay Scarlette. Someday," he whispered into my hair.

We walked back inside. Andy's parents looked at me when we entered the dining room. Amy came over to give me a hug.

"I'm so sorry," she said.

"No, I am. I was being rude, I'm sorry," I said and she shook her head.

"Nonsense," she said.

"Scar, the others are telling us to get back to the hotel right now," Andy said, looking at his phone.

"Oh, okay," I said, giving both Andy's parents a hug.

"Thanks again for the lunch, it was delicious," I said, as we walked towards the door.

"No problem, we hope to see you again soon Scarlette," they waved. We walked to the car and I got in. Andy got into the drivers seat and closed the doors. He looked at me.

"You sure that you're okay?" he asked.

"Yes Andy, I'm completely fine. Really," I said, when he gave me an unsure look.

"Alright," he said, starting the car and heading back to the hotel.

"Your parents are really nice Andy. I like them," I said.

"Good, because they said the same about you. They like you more than my past girlfriend, he laughed and I smiled.

"I wish you could meet my parents as well. But sadly, I don't think they'd be as welcoming. I haven't seen them in years either," I said.

"You'll find them one day," he said, taking my hand.

"Maybe," I said.

We reached the hotel again and Sammi was waiitng outside.

"There you guys are!" she exclaimed. "Nice arm Scarlette," she said and I laughed.

"I know, it's nice to have it back," I said.

"Come one, everyone's playing Would You Rather upstairs!" she said running inside. We followed her and as we were walking inside, I felt my phone vibrate.
