When Darkness Is All You See..

I felt anxious around Andy, not because of what he was but because…well…I haven’t gone out with someone in a very long time, especially not as someone as hot as he was. All the while I just looked…well average.

“Kelley are you okay?” he asked me from my bed, I nodded.

“Yeah, I’m just going to get changed…do you um…want to go out somewhere, like hang out and talk more?” I asked, feeling incredibly nervous.

“Yes, I’d love to.” He replied with a blinding perfect smile.

With that I turned around and walked over to my closet, pulling out a fresh pair of underwear, bra, shirt, and blue jeans. Walking over to the restroom I noticed Crow trotting into the bedroom immediately making his way over to the incubus, shrugging I went into the bathroom to change. Removing all my clothing I stared at my nude self for a moment, would he really like me? I mean I know we’re supposedly bonded for life but I know some people who have been married for years and were unbearably unhappy. Would that be us? No, I can’t think that, I should be happy, Andy seems to genuinely care for me and I shouldn’t take that for granted. Once I had finished changing I walked out to see Crow happily jumping all over the raven haired man, playfully swatting at is perfect face before pouncing onto his chest.

“Crow really seems to like you.” I giggled, watching the two play.

“Yeah, incubuses attract cats like wild fire but in turn dogs fucking hate us but the feeling is mutual.” Andy replied, his nose scrunching at the mention of dogs. I laughed at the silly thought of Andy hissing at a dog that growled at him. Shaking the mental image away I spoke.

“Are you ready to go?” I asked and he nodded.

Picking Crow up off his chest before placing him down onto the bed, but it didn’t look like Crow was giving up without a fight as he jumped onto Andy’s head, making me laugh even harder. The blue eyed incubus repeated his actions, picking the cat up off his head this time before placing him on the bed only to have Crow jump back onto his lap.

“Stay!” Andy laughed, and I could have sworn Crow stuck his tongue out at Andy before trotting away from us. “Well fine, drama queen.” He mumbled standing up.

“I can’t wait to see how some other cats will react while we’re out.” I giggled as we made our way to the front door of my apartment. I watched as Andy’s eyes widened as if the thought only just occurred to him.

“Crap…” he sighed, running his slender hand through his raven locks. I couldn’t help but want to run my hands through his hair too, it seemed so soft.

“I-I through maybe we could go get some coffee or something and talk.” I rushed out, feeling embarrassed that he nearly caught me looking at him. I looked over to him to see a beaming smile stretch his full lips.

“I’d love that.” He replied, I wanted to kiss him again.


While we walked down the street I felt jealous at all the looks Andy was getting, especially from women, so many of them were prettier than I was. However, I felt all my insecurities vanish the moment Andy’s large and warm hand held mine. I looked down at our connected hands and looked up at him, my eyes meeting his blue orbs.

“I-I hope you don’t mind-” he was rambling like a little school boy and I couldn’t help but find that extremely adorable.

“No, not at all…I love it.” I replied, feeling slightly embarrassed at the words that escaped me. “S-So…you’re an incubus….” I said, trying to change the subject.

“Yeah, it’s not as glamorous as people think.” I quirked an eyebrow at him, feeling my grin grow wanting him to explain.

“How so?”

“Well like I said, most people that read about my kind think it’s all women and sex and shit, but I don’t like all that crap…I’ve never really touched a woman unless it was too feed.” He explained, wait…did that mean he was a virgin? Cutie!

“O-Oh…cool.” Was all I could think to say “Uh…do you have any hobbies?” I asked, I saw a smile curve his lips.

“Singing.” He answered immediately “I love to sing.” The look in his eyes really did tell me how much he enjoyed singing, and I couldn’t help but want to hear what he’d sound like.

“Um…Andy would you mind if-” I began but was cut off.

“Andy!” someone yelled, I looked forward to see a very attractive olive skinned man walk towards us with a large grin.

“Shit.” Andy growled, before replying to the man that now stood before us “Hey Ashley.”
