We're Setting Worlds On Fire

The Ruler Breaker

“Hold him still Andy!” Lily shouted, the fire ball in her hands growing smaller and smaller. Andy was struggling to keep the Hybrid in his grasp-this one was strong and was putting up a pretty good fight.

“I’m trying! Hurry up and get over here!” Andy shouted right back at her, the irritation clear in his voice. They had caught this one sneaking around the back of their bus and it looked like he had tried to slash their tires.

“Don’t yell at me!” Lily said as she got close and the fireball in her hands grew. Suddenly she felt all of the breath leave her chest and she was flying through the air. The Hybrid in Andy’s arms had kicked out his legs and had caught her off guard.

“Lily!” Andy shouted, his attention on the Hybrid gone as he felt the Demon get out of his grasp and watched in horror as it approached the downed Angel. Andy rushed towards Lily, who was still on the ground, but the Hybrid got there first.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk…better pay attention next time little Angel.” The Demon said in her ear as he grabbed her and held her to his chest. Lily tried to break from his grasp, but he was squeezing her so hard that she could feel her ribs beginning to crack.

“Let her go!” Andy shouted as he rushed forward but stopped. The Hybrid had a knife and it was pointed right at Lily’s throat. Could Lily die? Andy wasn’t sure-they had never talked about it before.

“Or what?” The Hybrid laughed, his brown eyes wide with malice and hate. Another lost fan-another bitter soul that had taken his own life because Andy and the guys had failed. Now it was biting them in the ass.

“Andy! Andy it’s okay!” Lily shouted, but her air supply was being cut off so drastically that her shout came as nothing but a squeak.

She could feel her ribs beginning to snap, forming sharp points that would puncture her lungs. Lily could heal pretty fast and she wouldn’t die, but fuck it was gonna hurt. She closed her eyes, the tears spilling down as the Hybrid held her even more tightly and she could feel the point of the knife pressing against the skin of her neck. Andy was still standing there, unsure of what to do and suddenly Lily had a plan. She took in as deep a breath as she was capable of and when she blew out that breath she felt her wings pop out. They did so with such great force that the Hybrid went flying and Lily collapsed on to the ground.

She laid there on her side, gasping for air and she watched, her lavender eyes sad as the Hybrid ran off-his torn Black Veil Brides shirt flapping behind him like a flag. Andy was at her side immediately, rubbing her cheeks and pulling her into his lap. She could tell he was crying, she could smell his salty tears as they ran down his cheeks and she could hear him whimpering. It was going to be okay, she just needed to get into her bunk and lay down for a bit. Lily tried to sit up, but her wings were in the way and she cried out as Lily focused and finally was able to get her wings to pop back into place. She hurt all over-a pain she hadn’t felt since she was human.

“Lily? Lily can you hear me?” Andy asked, his voice low and filled with tears as he held her in his tattooed arms. He didn’t want to see her like this-broken and battered-because it brought him back to that terrible day…the day he had lost her.

“Y-yeah…you’re shouting loud enough.” She smirked, laughing hurt too much right now so she really needed to try and not do that so much.

“Oh thank God! I thought I had lost you again…” Andy said as he pulled her up until her back was against his chest and his chin was resting on the top of her head. She felt like shit and she needed to get back to her bunk and lay down.

“No, but I do really need to get to my bunk so that I can meditate and try to heal. Plus if that Hybrid comes back I don’t think I’m in any shape to deal with him and you can’t take him alone.” Lily said, gasping as a pain shot across her ribs. Andy had stood up, still holding her in his arms and as he held her against his chest tightly, Lily felt her body grow warm.

“I could have taken him…” Andy muttered as he began to walk down the small street behind the club they had been playing in. The Hybrid had been down by their bus, but as soon as Lily and Andy had begun the chase it had run around the corner and down behind the building.

Lily kept her opinions to herself and just stayed silent as Andy carried her off towards the bus. They had been outside, meeting with some fans after the show when Lily heard someone walking around their bus. Andy had gone to look and he found the Hybrid, down by their bus tires trying desperately to slash them. So that’s what it had come to? They couldn’t take the pair out by brute force so they were going to cause a huge accident and let that do the job for them? Lily had chased after the Hybrid and it had been a major struggle getting the creature into Andy’s arms. They were getting stronger and this terrified Lily-she and Michael didn’t have enough Divine Fire between the two of them to stop all of the Hybrids in battle.

Andy was carrying her and Lily felt relieved as the bus came into view-she was so close to meditating and healing that she wanted to cry. The bus was empty, which they could tell by the fact that all of the lights were turned off and there wasn’t loud laughter or music blaring from the back lounge. Andy quickly walked up the steps, Lily wincing with every movement and he rushed to get her into her bunk and comfortable. As he reached the bunk hall, Andy pulled aside the black curtains on Lily’s bunk and quickly, but gently laid her down on the soft mattress.

“D-do you want anything? Water? Can I get you water?” Andy asked, twiddling his thumbs as he stood over her and Lily groaned as she moved around to try and get comfortable.

“N-no. I just need to meditate and then I’ll heal.” Lily said as she finally opened her eyes and Andy looked right in to them. Those lavender eyes-they had changed everything for him and the more he looked at her, the more love swelled in his Demonic heart.

“Oh…o-okay. Well I’ll just leave you to it.” Andy said as he moved to walk away, but a hand reaching out and grabbing him around his wrist stopped him in his tracks. As Andy turned back around to face her, he noticed that Lily was looking up at him with a small smile on her lips.

Stay.” Lily said, her voice small and pained. Andy felt his jaw drop and Lily only smiled at him softly as she pulled him down towards her bunk.

“I-um-okay.” He said dumbly as Andy moved to lay down beside her and Lily only smiled before shutting her eyes.

Andy laid there for what seemed like hours, the guys had all gotten on the bus and he had stopped Ashley on his way back to the lounge to tell him what happened. The bassist was angry, but promised to have the driver check the tires-Andy stayed where he was. He watched Lily as she laid there, her blonde hair spread around her head like a great halo and her eyes were closed and peaceful. Andy could lay there and watch her forever-he loved this girl more than he could have ever imagined loving someone and he was happy that she had found it in herself to love him again.

Lily mumbled in her meditative sleep and Andy smiled as he heard her murmur his name softly. He reached out, brushing some strands of hair out of her face as he looked down at her and smiled. She was perfect-she would always be perfect to him and he couldn’t believe that she was his. He could still remember seeing her for the first time-that sad little face that held so much fear behind her eyes and hearing Lily call herself wretched had made his heart hurt, even then. She was Divine now-the wretched girl had become a beautiful Divine creature and Andy smiled as he shut his eyes for a moment and got lost in his memories.

Sitting up late at night, talking about things like music and movies. Lily teaching him how to be a human-all of it flashed before his eyes and Andy couldn’t help but smile. He loved that she brought something out of him-his humanity. Without her he had turned back in to a monster-a self loathing, self glorifying monster and he had completely forgotten his purpose in life. He had come up from Hell to help Lily, but helping her turned in to something much greater. He had kids who depended on him now-teens around the world who looked to him to be their voice…their savior.

Andy had gladly taken on the role, but even now he was starting to learn that that was a lot of responsibility and sometimes that wasn’t always a good thing. The fans-in all of their passion and love-were kind of fickle in the how they wanted the guys to look and act. Andy had changed-his look, his hair and the way he was in general. Some kids liked the new look-less paint, more studs and leather-but there were some kids out there who cried foul. They wanted Andy Six to stay the same-to remain the screaming kid on stage that he had been almost two years ago.

That wasn’t him and Andy wasn’t sure it ever really was.

“What time is it?” A soft voice asked and Andy smiled as he cracked his eyes open and looked down. Lily was lying there, her hands folded across her chest, but she was looking up at him with tired eyes and a slight smile.

“Almost five. I think everyone is in bed-I told Ash what happened and he had the driver check the tires…he also said to feel better and to ‘fucking come get me next time you fuck’…I think he’s upset we left him out.” Andy chuckled as he moved to sit up and then noticed that Lily was doing the same.

“Yeah, sounds like Ashley. I’m sure Michael isn’t too happy with me right now either.” Lily said as she sat up and then moved to rest against Andy’s chest. She placed her fingers against his still bare chest-he had still been in his stage clothes when they were fighting-and traced small circles over his warm skin.

“I haven’t seen him, although I heard his tinkling laughter a few hours ago, so I know he made it on the bus.” Andy laughed and Lily only smiled. Sometimes she and Michael would fly above the bus as it moved through the night-it gave them some alone time and it got them away from all of the chaos.

“I’m surprised you stayed with me for so long-must’ve been pretty boring watching an Angel meditate.” Lily laughed as she looked up at him. Andy was smiling down at her, his blue eyes still covered in thick black makeup, but it only added to his sex appeal.

“Not boring. Plus I napped with you for a while. I missed sleeping next to you…” Andy said, his tone pointed and Lily bit down on her lower lip as she looked up at him.

Fuck-it had felt nice coming out of her meditation in Andy’s arms and seeing his blue eyes as she came to. Great-Lily knew then, more than she had ever known that she had to give in. Fuck the rules, fuck the policies and fuck her being an Angel for one night. For the rest of the night and their time together in this bunk-Lily was going to pretend like she was human.

A human girl, with human feelings and needs-just normal Lily who loved and cared about the Demon sitting beside her. Lily smiled as she looked up at Andy and then she did something that she knew she would never be able to take back-she snaked her hand down to his thigh and let it rest there. His blue eyes went wide and Andy sucked in a breath.

Tonight was the night, but it would only be for tonight.

“Andy?” Lily asked, her voice small and unsure as she let her fingers do some walking across his upper legs. Andy felt hot and his heat for her grew as he looked down in to those perfect eyes of hers.

“Y-yes?” He replied, swallowing the lump in his throat and Lily only smirked as she placed her other hand on the side of his face and pressed her lips to his quickly.

“You know that question you ask me every single night?” She was smirking at him and suddenly Andy was wondering if this was all some sort of dream. Had he woken up?

“Yeah…yeah I know the one.” Andy said as he reached a hand down and traced a thumb over her bottom lip. Lily smiled at his touch and kissed his thumb as it ran along her skin.

“I want you to ask me that question again.” She smiled at him and Andy wanted to pinch himself to make sure that he really wasn’t imagining this or anything.

“I-um-Lily can I sleep in here with you tonight?” He asked, shutting his eyes tightly. He always felt terrible after her answer to this question and Andy knew it probably wasn’t going to feel any better this time around.

At first Lily said nothing, but just smiled against his skin as she moved to straddle his legs and placed her hands on either side of his face. She kissed his cheeks, his nose, his eyes and finally she trailed a kiss to his lips before moving to whisper in his ear something that he had been wanting to hear for forever.

“Just tonight Andy…just for tonight.”

Aww I'm so glad you liked it! This series was really fun for me to write because I was able to put so much imagery in to it.

Just finished this series and oh my gosh! I can honestly say that a fan fiction had not made me cry until now. This story hit me right in the feels, expecially the 'just tonight' chapter. It just makes me so sad that they love each other so much but they can't be together. Anyways I love your stories, they are some of my favorites on this site :).

I just have to say that after reading this I now look at God Bless You as a way of telling Satan off

@Truly A Teenage Runaway

Aww well thanks! Start with A Love By Mistake as that is actually where this story is supposed to go. I warn you-I have A LOT of work haha so it may take some time.
