We're Setting Worlds On Fire

Religious Experience

The room around them was filled with loud laughter, but neither Andy nor Lily were paying much attention to any of their surroundings. They were pushed up against one wall, Andy had one hand on the side of her face, while Lily had her arms wrapped around his exposed neck. Their lips were locked together, their breathing heavy and while no one had noticed them yet-it was bound to happen. They were in the north-Michigan- and the couple couldn’t keep their hands off of one another. There was some major sexual tension going on between the two and everyone on the damn bus could see it but them.

The guys were getting kind of tired of walking in on the couple-like rabbits those two-and Lily would only pull away from Andy, blush and then excuse herself. They just couldn’t catch a break, but that was okay as Lily wasn’t sure where any of this was going. They had gotten themselves right back to where they were before she had died-sexual activity but they never made it all the way.

Andy was getting frustrated and so was she, but Lily knew it was probably for the best. No matter how many times Michael whispered to her that she just needed to turn him human-Lily couldn’t go through with it. That would be changing Andy completely and Lily loved him just the way he was.

“Hey! You two rabbits need to knock it off or else Romeo is going to be late getting on that stage!” Ashley called out to them and the couple jumped apart. Lily blushed as she tucked a loose piece of hair behind her ear, biting down on her lip as she kept her eyes on the floor.

“He’s right you know…if we go any further you and I are going to have to sneak off to the bus later…” Andy said as he reached out and placed a finger underneath her chin. Lily looked up, her lavender eyes locking with his blue ones and Andy only smiled. His lipstick-bright red-was smeared across his lips and Lily only giggled as she ran her thumb over his bottom lip and the problem was fixed.

“You wish…” She laughed again as Andy’s face fell and then Lily kissed his lips very gently.

“God get a fucking room!” CC said as he passed the couple, drum sticks and Monster in hand. Lily only laughed, smirking as she pulled away from Andy and looked around the room.

Michael was in the corner, sitting off by himself with his eyes closed and his palms facing up. He had been meditating a lot lately and that worried Lily. She could feel something-something big was coming but she had no idea what that something was. Word on the Heavenly streets was that Satan was almost ready and Lily was only hoping that he would hold off. The guys were getting ready to fly out for their first tour in Japan in a few days and Lily didn’t want that to be ruined. She left Andy and quickly walked over to stand right in front of where Michael was sitting.

The Angel was dressed in a pair of skinny jeans, his chuck covered feet tucked underneath him and his Black Veil Brides shirt was tight across his chest. Michael was growing his hair out-now that he was on Earth his hair could actually grow-and Lily liked how her shaggy haired friend looked. He seemed to really be enjoying himself, but they were still getting work done every morning. Lily, Andy and Michael would all disappear for a few hours, finding an empty building to practice in and Andy had been enjoying every minute of it.

“Phoning home?” Lily asked as she flopped down on the couch beside her best friend and laughed as he cracked one eye open and looked at her.

“You know I have no clue what that means, right?” He asked and Lily only laughed. Michael was so out of tune with the human world that it was kind of sad, but it made her laugh all the same. Lily enjoyed picking on him-she couldn’t really pick at Andy anymore because he had been on Earth long enough to have figured most things out.

“I know and that’s why I love you.” She laughed again as Michael only sighed, his meditation time being forgotten as he turned to face his best friend. The Angel was wearing a tight purple top, her long blonde hair straight down around her face and Michael noticed that Lily had on a pretty tight pair of jeans. This was how she had dressed when she was human and he wasn’t going to judge her now that she was an Angel.

“I know someone else that you love. Can you two keep your hands off of one another for more than a few minutes?” Michael asked and Lily only blushed crimson as she looked away and set her sights on her favorite singer. Andy was over by the mirror, touching up his makeup and pulling on his studded leather vest at the same time. Ever since the guys shot their videos they had adopted this leather, studded, biker look and Lily found that she liked it.

“Probably-we’ve just gotten back in to this little comfortable zone and I think we’re both better for it.” Lily said as Andy caught site of her in the mirror and smirked. She blew him a kiss and then turned back to face Michael.

“So what’s the hold up? When is Andy going to be walking around in a human suit?” Michael asked and Lily only rolled her eyes as she shoved his shoulder and noticed that the guys were quickly getting their things together to head out on stage.

“Not any time soon-don’t give me that look!” Lily said as she moved to get her own things. Lily would be standing on the side of the stage-in the states the guys didn’t need much help with their audience.

“No look-just slightly confused as to what in the Hell you’re waiting for.” Michael smirked at her as he grabbed his backpack and followed Lily out to the side of the stage. The backstage area was a like a huge maze and after getting lost a handful of times, both Angels found the stage.

The opening band-a local group she couldn’t remember the name of, were just finishing up and Lily smiled as she looked out towards the audience and noticed all of their War Paint covered faces. The Army was out in full force that night and Lily felt a wave of pride wash over her. She had helped build this army-she had helped the guys figure out what they needed to do in life and she couldn’t be happier with the outcome. They were almost finished with the album; they were traveling around the world, playing shows in places that they had only ever dreamed of. Most importantly-they were making a difference in the lives of many.

These teens-they looked to CC, Jake, Jinxx, Ashley and Andy-most of all-to help them through their days. Lily had cried a few times when she sat in on their meet and greets because of the stories that these kids told the guys. The abuse, the misery, the self-harm…all of it had been made better by a simple record that five guys had put together in less than a month.

All of the songs-both old and new-had helped these kids through whatever they needed help with and Lily felt like she had been there for it all. Sure, she had been absent for a few months and even when she had come back in to the fold she hadn’t been the most enthusiastic at first, but she had been rooting them on all along and wasn’t that the most important thing?

“They certainly do have their fans.” Michael shouted over the opener band and Lily only smirked as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked up at her best friend. Angels didn’t think about human affairs much and Michael had been amazed by just how much love these kids had for a group of five guys in makeup.

“It’s like a religion to these kids and their concerts are their days in Church. I mean they truly feel like they belong somewhere when they come to the shows and it makes them feel better…even about the little things.” Lily said and Michael only nodded his head silently. He didn’t like the reference to religion, but he understood none the less.

“Was it like this for you…when you were their age and in their position?” He asked and Lily bit down on her lower lip as she thought it over. Had it been like this for her? She hadn’t been to many shows and the ones she had managed to go to had always been pretty amazing.

“Yes and no. I loved going to shows when I was young-being in a crowd of kids and people that like the same thing as you always makes things seem better than they really are. But I never had a band like Black Veil Brides in my life-never a band that I connected with on that level.” Lily explained and truly meant it. She had liked bands-AFI, The Misfits, The Damned and some others, but they never seemed to connect with her. They spoke of pain, but it was never a pain she could relate to.

“And you think Andy can do that? That he can connect with these kids in that way?” Michael asked, his voice doubtful and suddenly the room grew quiet.

The opening band had left the stage and the crew were quickly getting things switched over. The lights had been dimmed and the crowd got down to a dull roar as they realized what this meant. It was time, it was time for their idols to come on the stage and give them the best show they could give. Lily looked out and she noticed that a few people were pumping their fists in to the air and that’s when the chanting started.

‘Black Veil Brides! Black Veil Brides!’ over and over again until the kids grew silent. The silence only lasted a few minutes and then it would pick back up again. Lily knew then-she had always known-that these five guys had something special and thankfully there were other’s in the world who understood that as well.

“I’ll let the audience speak for me.” Lily laughed and Michael only smiled as the two of them joined in on the chanting. Even as the guys came to the side of the stage, Lily and Michael kept chanting with the crowd.

“You two are crazy!” CC said as she passed, his chest covered by a tight black shirt that had tiny holes all over it. Lily slapped her hand against his raised one and the two of them shared a smile.

“You ready to rock it?” Andy asked, his voice low in her ear and Lily finally turned to face him, throwing her arms around his neck as she smiled up at him gleefully.

“Get out there and show them what you’ve got!” Lily said before her lips crashed against his and the audience roared as the guys all went out on the stage one by one.

Andy pulled away from her, running out on to the stage to a complete uproar and he only waved as he walked over to the mic and cleared his throat. Andy had become long winded on the past tours, always having something to say and always needing to address his crowd and his fans. He knew this time that he wanted to make it short and sweet-they had a new song they were going to play and he wanted everyone to enjoy the show as much as possible. The audience finally settled down enough for him to speak and Andy only smirked-his lopsided smile gaining cheers-before he called out to their fans.

“What the fuck is going on Michigan?! We are the Black Veil Brides and we are here to play some fucking music for you guys tonight!” Andy said in to the mic, his low voice gruff and he smirked again. Lily only smiled, she could listen to him talk to his fans all day-the passion he had for them was unrivaled.

“We see this time with you guys as somewhat of a religious experience and we even wrote a new song about it! We’re going to sing that now-this is New Religion!” The crowd screamed and Lily clapped as the guys went into a song that she had only heard a few times.

Everything sounded good and as Lily listened, she truly did believe that these guys would take over the world.

Welcome to your life
We've got you in our sights
And thoughts of God are better left alone

It's in your head black and blue
What they told you wasn't true
Come along and fight with the unknown
The army's grown

We'll pray to all the wrong decisions,
Woah oh oh
This time you'll show all you can be,
Woah oh oh
Grab your weapons now, we'll run against the crowd
And changing history

So, let's take the vow
We will show you how
Your time has come for the new religion

@FallenAngel26

Aww I'm so glad you liked it! This series was really fun for me to write because I was able to put so much imagery in to it.

Just finished this series and oh my gosh! I can honestly say that a fan fiction had not made me cry until now. This story hit me right in the feels, expecially the 'just tonight' chapter. It just makes me so sad that they love each other so much but they can't be together. Anyways I love your stories, they are some of my favorites on this site :).

I just have to say that after reading this I now look at God Bless You as a way of telling Satan off

@Truly A Teenage Runaway

Aww well thanks! Start with A Love By Mistake as that is actually where this story is supposed to go. I warn you-I have A LOT of work haha so it may take some time.
