What It Is To Burn

I Dreamed A Dream

Andy felt his mouth drop open as he listened to Dess sing and he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. How was she constantly able to always find the perfect song to describe their relationship? He watched as she strummed the last chord on her teal and black guitar and then before she set it down by her feet Odessa locked eyes with him and she smiled. He ran to her as others clapped around them and as he reached her Andy could do the only thing that seemed right to him-he grabbed her around the waist and spun her around until her dress flared out around her feet.

She held onto him, her hands on the back of his neck as their foreheads were pressed together and she smiled deeply at him. His lips landed on hers as he stopped their spinning and Dess kissed him back gently as everyone clapped and called out to them. They paid the group no mind-in that moment it was just the two of them. It had always been the two of them and the rest of the world were just bit players trying to get in on their lives together. Andy had been in a dream world with Dess over the past two years and at this very moment he knew that he never wanted to wake up.

“Lets give it up for the lovely couple!” The DJ called out, but Dess couldn’t take her eyes off of Andy in that moment. The entire tent could be falling down around them and she could care less. Andy held onto her, his fingers brushing over her skin as his blue eyes stared her down.

“I love you…I-I can’t even think of the words right now to express how much.” He stuttered and Andy only smirked as Dess laughed, throwing her head back and he leaned in quickly to kiss the skin of her exposed neck.

“I love you too-so much that it’s hard to think about my life without you…” She lowered her head back down until her moss green eyes connected with his and Andy could only smile at her softly.

“Lets get out of here…I don’t think I can stand to see you in that lovely dress any longer.” Andy smirked at her and Dess only giggled as she reached for his hand. Soon the couple was facing the group before them and everyone clapped loudly.

“I think you’re right-I would like to see you with a lot less clothing on…” Dess smirked as she turned her head and nodded towards the DJ. It was time to go. The evening had been magical, but Dess and Andy needed some time alone now-they needed one another in the worst way.

“Well folks the bride is signaling to me that she and her new husband are going to head out. So here’s a song to send them on their way and we wish you two all the best!” The DJ said into the mic before the room was filled with the loud sound of guitars and Andy only looked to Dess as he his own voice sang out to him.

I cannot hide what's on my mind
I feel it burning deep inside
A passion crime to take what's mine
Let us start living for today

Never gonna' change my mind
We can leave it all behind
Nothin's gonna' stop us
No not this time

So take your hand in mine
It's ours tonight
This is a rebel love song

Hearts will sacrifice
It's do or die
This is a rebel love song

Really Dess?” Andy asked as he held her hand in his own and they raised their clasped hands over their heads as they walked through the crowd towards the door. People were patting them on the back and Kit wrapped her arms around Dess’ neck as she passed, whispering a soft ‘Go get him tiger’ before finally they were outside of the noisy tent.

“It’s fitting don’t you think?” She smirked up at him and Andy only shook his head as he bent down and pressed his lips against her own. She was absurd, but she was now his wife and so she was allowed to be whatever she wanted and he would still love this crazy girl that stood before him.

“Yeah and you being naked in about five minutes will also be very…very…fitting…” He wiggled his eyebrows at her as the two of them walked towards the large house slowly and as Dess looked up at the sky she smiled. The stars were winking at her, blinking softly against the inky sky and she felt in that moment that Moira was looking down on them, happy to see her two favorite people finally together like they should be.

The couple walked through the large glass doors and were met by a smiling woman who nodded to them and handed Andy a small key. He held it up for Dess to look at, that silly smirk on his lips as he knew what would come as soon as they walked through the door of their suite. The stairs were tall and spiraling and Andy held her hand tightly as he stepped onto the first step and together they began to climb. They stayed silent, both of them smiling as Dess looked at Andy from behind and she could tell from the hunch in his shoulders that he was as tired as she was.

It had been a long day-fuck it had been a long year-but finally they had made it to the point in time where they wanted to be. Finally they reached the top of the stairs, but instead of walking down the hall Andy turned to Dess with a soft smile on his lips. He bent down and scooped her up in to his arms, kissing her lips lightly as he began to carry her down towards the end of the hall where their room was located.

“Now how are you going to manage that one smart guy?” Dess asked as the two of them stood outside of a white door and Dess looked down at the key that Andy was holding tightly in his teeth.

He said nothing as Andy somehow held her in place with only one hand and soon enough the door was swinging open and Andy was carrying her through. He closed the door with his foot softly and suddenly Dess felt his lips against hers as he let her slide down his body slowly. The bottom of her dress pushing up until she could feel the cool air on the back of her legs. Her hand cupped his cheek, her teeth searching out until she found his bottom lip and sucked it into her mouth softly. They parted slowly, Andy’s eyes never leaving hers as Dess said nothing and instead just reached behind her to unpin her hair.

Her blonde hair fell down in waves, the soft ends only coming to the tops of her shoulders, but to Andy she looked breathtaking in that moment. He moved back, taking her in as he noticed that the top of her was nearly spilling out over her dress and he knew that it was time to release her of her restraining garment. She turned then, lifting her hair up to expose her creamy back to him and Andy sucked in a breath as he took her in. Her tattoos-bright and brilliant against the white of her dress-were begging to be touched and so with only the tip of his finger Andy ran a pattern across the skin of her back.

“Wanna help me get this thing off?” Dess asked him quietly, her voice only above a whisper and Andy only smirked as he ran a finger down her back until it hit the top of her dress.

“It would be my pleasure…” He whispered, his breath tickling her ear as Andy ran his fingers underneath the strings of her corset, pulling out slightly to loosen things up.

Dess smiled as she felt her dress fall from her body and she laughed when Andy sucked in a breath. His lips were on her skin instantly, his fingers wrapping around her as they rested against her collarbone. He nibbled at the skin of her shoulder and Dess sighed happily at his touch. Andy moved his hands lower and Dess groaned as he pinched and pulled at the sensitive skin of her breasts. She turned to face him, her arms wrapping around his shoulders as her legs wrapped themselves around his waist.

He held her there, his hands cupping her lacey underwear clad butt and Dess only smirked as she kissed his lips deeply. Andy was still wearing every stitch of clothing and as Dess lowered herself down from his grip she knew that that needed to change. She kissed him, running her tongue over his bottom lip, as her fingers moved quickly to begin unbuttoning his vest. Andy discarded his jacket and his own fingers were trying desperately to loosen his tie as they never broke their kiss.

Finally after some maneuvering and fumbling around on Andy’s part, they were both standing in front of one another in nothing but their underwear. Dess looked down, smirking as she took in Andy’s excitement at seeing her sans her dress and she said nothing as she cupped him, rubbing softly as his head fell back and she nibbled at the skin of his throat. He groaned loudly, his fingers reaching out and touching her own sensitive spots and Dess knew that it was time to take things to their plush looking king sized bed.

With one hand still on his lower region and the other pushing against his chest, Dess moved the both backwards until Andy was flat on his back on the bed and smirking up at her. She said nothing as she straddled his hips, moving herself against him as she bent down and connected her flushed lips with his. He bit down on her bottom lip, hard, and Dess only smirked as she moved her hips against him slightly faster.

“God…quit being such a tease…” Andy moaned against her mouth as she pulled away from him. Dess only smirked as she kneeled above him on her knees and quickly disposed of the other piece of clothing that was separating the two of them. Andy watched as she slowly peeled off her underwear and he made a quick motion to get his own off.

“But I like to tease you…I have been teasing you since the day I met you and it’s never going to stop.” She said as she slowly lowered herself down and Dess only smiled as she rested herself on his chest, her lips kissing his chin as Andy ran a hand through her silky hair.

“Mmm…Odessa why are you so mean to me?” He asked softly, his eyes closing as he became lost in their passion.

Dess said nothing as she continued to rock her hips back and forth slowly, taking him in more and more until finally they had become one. Her hands reached out, resting on his shoulders as Andy ran his hands across her stomach, her thighs, her sides and her back. They were both near silent as they made love for the first time as man and wife-no words needed to be spoken between the two as they knew exactly what the other was thinking. Love.

Love was on their minds as they moved against one another and as Andy flipped her over and stared down into her moss green eyes, Dess felt like she had never felt before. They had made love-a lot-but it was never in such a way where they completely needed on another. She needed him to be against her, she couldn’t bear the thought of him moving away from for even one second and Dess only smiled softly as their combined tempo picked up and the stared one another down.

Andy looked down at the girl in his arms and he couldn’t believe what was happening. They were married-they were together for the rest of their lives. He had known for a long time that this was how it was supposed to be. He belonged to this woman, heart and soul she had every little piece of him and as they made love over and over again he knew with each little earthquake that their bodies experienced that she would always have him. He had given himself to her long ago and while it had taken Dess slightly longer to do the same, Andy understood.

She had been hurt in so many ways in the past and while Andy had his fair share of heart break, he never let it wound him the same way Dess did. Deep down he always knew that there was a girl out there who would cherish him for everything that he was. But she would also seek out to make him a better person-in every way. That girl was Odessa Montgomery-now Biersack- and she was currently beneath him, smiling up at him as she reached her final finish and Andy sighed as he felt his own over take him.

They laid there, silent and together with Andy resting his head in the crook of her shoulder as Dess ran a hand up and down his sweaty back. They had been together in this way for over two hours and yet they still couldn’t get enough of one another. She kissed his skin as Andy moved away from her, falling to his back against the soft mattress and she said nothing as Dess moved to rest her head against his heaving chest. The party had been long over, their guests making their way to cars and taxis as they traveled home or to their hotels.

The wedding party was all staying in the same plantation home as Dess and Andy, but they were on a lower floor and across the house. Andy and Dess had been loud in their love making and she smiled against his skin as she thought over the nights events. Feeling his fingers against her skin had driven Dess crazy and it made her happy to know that she would know his touch for the rest of her life. She looked up at him then, a soft smile playing on her still swollen lips and Andy could only return her smile with a bright one of his own.

“I think I’m spent…” He smirked at her then, throwing a hand over his eyes as Dess only smirked at him and then moved to turn the lights off. They were bathed in nothing but the moonlight that was coming in through the curtains.

“You and me both. Shall we get some sleep since we have to be up early tomorrow to catch our flight?” Dess asked as she turned to him, resting on an elbow as her skin glowed in the soft moonlight. Andy reached out a hand and brushed the hair out of her face and Dess turned as his fingers passed by her lips and she gave him a quick kiss to his skin.

“Yes-I’m beat. This has been one long day…” Andy smiled at her as he leaned in and pressed his lips against hers gently.

“Tell me about it-talk about one long day and a very long year that it has been for us to get to this point.” She smirked against his lips before moving to rest her head on his chest once more.

“Are you happy we’re at this point?” Andy asked playfully and Dess only smacked him on the chest softly as she closed her eyes.

“Of course…I didn’t do all of that hard work for nothing.” She said and Andy only smirked against the top of her head as he placed a soft kiss there and closed his own eyes against the darkness.

“I love you Odessa Biersack…wow that sounds weird.” He laughed then and Dess’ tinkling laughter soon joined his own.

“I love you too Andrew Biersack and yeah...that’s going to take some getting used to.” She laughed again as Dess placed another kiss to his skin and then settled down against Andy’s strong chest.

Odessa felt safe in those strong tattooed arms and she sighed happily as she felt him relax beneath her and in a matter of moments Andy was asleep. Dess was tired-exhausted-but sleep was evading her in that moment. She had so much running through her mind…like the fact that she was now married. Never in a million years had she ever thought she would be the one to get married. Beth-of course, Beth was always the motherly type and so when she got married Kit and Dess were thrilled.

Dess knew that Kit would probably never get married-she was too wild and loud for any guy to control her enough to get her to settle down. Dess had wanted to get married, until her father got sick and she watched her mother begin to crumble. She couldn’t bear to love someone like her mother loved her father and then to have to watch them slowly fade away. But fate had other plans and she and Andy literally ran right in to one another. Now she was married and Dess felt a small smile creep on to her lips as she laid there with him in the darkness.

She only had one wish-that Moira and her father had been there today. She knew that they probably had been watching and the thing with the leaves as she and Andy kissed was kind of spooky. But Dess missed them all the same. Moira should have been in her wedding party and her father was supposed to walk her down the aisle, hand her over to Andy, kiss her cheek and tell her that he loved her. Fate was a cruel bitch sometimes and Dess knew it. A knot formed in her stomach as she thought about her own sickness over the past year.

She hadn’t died yet, but something in Dess was telling her that all of this being sick was far from over. She had had a good morning that morning-no puking and no headache. Kit chalked it up to adrenaline, while Beth thought that maybe her sickness all along had just been nerves and anticipation. Dess knew deep down that it was something more and as she closed her eyes and began to drift to sleep she knew.

She was far from getting better and she only hoped that whatever was in her body would spare her long enough to be married to Andy more than a few months.

There were birds chirping and the sun was shining down on her brightly. As Dess cracked her eyes open, she jumped up and realized that she was sitting not on the bed in her room with Andy, but in a wide open field. The sky was blue above her, cloudless and pure looking. She could tell it was spring by all of the flowers that surrounded her and as Dess sat there she reached out and picked one off of its stem. The chirping birds were drowned out by the sound of rushing water and as she looked to her left, Dess saw that there was a small stream that glittered in the sunlight.

Where was she? Heaven? Had she died in her sleep on her wedding night with Andy? Dess began to panic as she moved around in the grass, her eyes wide and she could feel the tears begin to come to the surface. All of a sudden there was childlike laughter coming from somewhere and in an instant Moira was standing before her.

She was as she had been the summer before her death-healthy with her black hair teased high and shining in the sunlight. Her moss green eyes were full of laughter as she looked down at Dess and the older girl scanned her eyes down. Moira was standing before her in a white dress that came to right above her knee, the pure fabric stark against the background of green grass and trees.

Dess didn’t know what to do or what to think and she jumped as she looked down at her own body and noticed that she was dressed identically to Moira-white dress and bare feet. The young girl held out a hand to Dess, who took it hesitantly as she helped herself up. Moira only smiled at her for a moment before the small girl had wrapped her arms around Dess’ middle, her head resting against her chest.

“Moi-Moira?” Dess said as the girl pulled away from her, tears in her moss green eyes and Dess felt her own flow down her flushed cheeks. Was this a dream? It had to be a dream right?

“H-hey Dess-long time no see.” Moira laughed as she pulled away and tucked a piece of hair behind a pierced ear. Dess looked around-the place they were in was so peaceful and Dess felt like she could stay here forever.

“Am-am I dead?” She asked and Moira only laughted harder, grabbing for her stomach as she looked up at her older sister and smiled.

“No you aren’t dead. The angels let me bring you here in your dreams so that I could talk to you…” Moira explained, her head cocked to one side and Dess only smirked. That champagne had gone right to her head and obviously she should have gone light on the cake too with all that sugar.

“So talk?” Dess said as Moira only smiled up at her, taking Dess’ left hand in her own. Moira held her hand up and her eyes were curious as she took in the wedding and engagement rings that were nestled on Dess’ left ring finger.

“I see Androo kept his promise. Good-I won’t have to haunt his skinny ass after all. I’ve been watching the two of you you know…” Moira had that impish grin on her face and Dess only laughed as she blushed and thought of her and Andy’s previous actions before they fell asleep.

“Oh stop you big perv! Not like that! I brought you here to tell you how proud of you I am…” Dess looked down at her sister with a shock laced face. Moira was proud of her? For what?

“Oh?” Was all Dess could say and Moira only rolled her eyes as the two girls began to walk through the tall grass, hand in hand as they would when they were children.

“You’ve been through so much Dess and I know losing me was hard. But you pushed through and here you are married and ready for your new life…” Moira smiled up at her, but soon the younger girl’s features grew slightly sad.

“I know you’re sick and I don’t want you to worry-it’s nothing that you can’t handle.” Moira was looking at her strangely and Dess only squinted her eyes at her baby sister.

“It was you at our ceremony-the leaves…” Moira only smirked as the two girls began to walk once again and Dess could only follow behind her sister in silence. This was one trippy dream.

“Yeah. Remember when we were kids and we used to dance under the leaves as they fell down in the fall? I knew you would figure it out sooner or later…” Moira smirked at her and Dess grabbed her in that moment and brought her little sister in for a bone crushing hug.

“This isn’t a dream is it…” Dess said as she finally pulled away and Moira only rolled her eyes as she tugged her dress down. Totally a Moira thing to do.

“Noooo. For the hundredth time-you’re really here with me. But don’t worry-I’ll have you back in your body by the time you need to wake up.” Moira laughed as she and Dess settled on the ground near the stream and they both laid down-their hair spread out around them like halos.

The two girls stayed there for what seemed like hours, laughing and giggling as they talked about the past and Dess’ present life. Moira watched over them all, sometimes she switched between Dess and Andy and would watch Ashley or CC. She knew about the guys leaving her notes and Dess felt her heart break as Moira told her about how she would watch their concerts from Heaven. Moira cried as she told Dess about listening to the guys every night before they went to sleep-each and every one of them would tell her goodnight before shutting off their bunk lights.

They had some happy moments-Moira loved Dess’ clothing line and made fun of the older girl for her photoshoots and getting all dressed up as Batgirl. Mostly the two sisters just talked about how much they missed one another. Finally Moira stood up and Dess followed-there was a sadness in the air as both girls knew it was time for Dess to go.

“I love you Moira…” Dess cried as she hugged Moira to her and the younger girl said nothing as she sniffed loudly. Moira pulled away, bent down and picked up a daisy from the field that they were standing in.

“I love you too…take this with you and Dess-take care of yourself. You’re sick now, but pretty soon that sickness is going to dissipate and you are going to be left with something wonderful-your life and Andy’s joined together as one.” Moira smiled up at her as she pressed the flower to Dess’ hand, which was resting against her stomach and Dess could only smile as she took the flower and held it to her nose.

Moira began to fade and as she did so, Dess felt as if she were finally waking up. There was a soft snoring coming from somewhere and Dess only yawned as she stretched her arms above her head and opened her eyes. The sun was coming up and Dess knew that they needed to get up and head out to catch their flight. As she stretched and moved to wake Andy up, Dess felt her eyes grow wide as she looked down at her right hand and noticed that a white daisy was still clutched between her fingers. It-it had been a dream…right?

Dess only smiled as she sniffed at the daisy, rubbing Andy’s shoulder and as he woke up he looked over at her, those blue eyes filled with so much love. It had been a dream, but deep down Dess knew that Moira had really been there. She always would be there-no matter what.

Notes

So the last chapter was my favorite, but I do really like this one as well. ONE MORE CHAPTER! Ahhh...

I'm actually kind of sad to see this end, but don't fear-Together Burning Bright is all ready for me to post!

@Broken Wing
Here's my problem, though. As I am starting the final series, I won't be able to go to my regular computer because it's broken, and I can't view certain chapters on my iPad. So now my mom knows why I'm suddenly in a bitchy mood. :/
