“What are we going to do with her Ash? We can’t just let her go…she’ll come after Lily again.” Andy whispered to Ashley, who had taken a spot right next to the taller Demon. They both were looking down at Lattie, whom they had untied but were both keeping a close watch over.

“Well we could just put her and Lily in a ring and see who comes out alive…” Ashley suggested and Andy growled lowly as he punched his best friend in the shoulder and looked out towards the front of the store.


Lily, CC, Jake and Jinxx-who had shown up two minutes after Andy spilled the truth to everyone-were out front, trying in vain to get as much picked up as possible. He was in a quandary as to what should be done with Lattie. They couldn’t very well let her go because she would just come right back or worse-give away their location to the Dark Lord. They couldn’t very well allow her into their circle either-she would just attack Lily at any chance that she got. Andy shuddered to think of the what the Dark Lord had in store for Lily. His Lily. Silently he took everything in, playing the scenarios in his head and finally he turned to Ashley, a sad look in his eyes.


“We have to kill her dude-there’s no other way.”Andy said and Ashley hissed out a breath. Lattie was his twin. She was fucking crazy, but they were blood and he couldn’t think of seeing her die.

“I’ll take care of her.” Ashley said, training his chocolate brown eyes on Andy, who only looked at him doubtfully. Ashley-Cal-had been a Record Demon back in Hell and while they were still dangerous, they had not been trained to kill like Andy had.

“Ash…” His voice held a warning as Andy shot his best friend a look.

“I said I’ll do it Andy!” Ashley snarled as Andy only held up his hands, backing off as he headed towards the front of the store.


Lily was currently sweeping up the shards of glass that seemed to be never ending and she smiled as she felt a hand snake around her waist. Andy. She stood up right, her back against his chest and Lily let out a heavy sigh. Could the day get any worse? Despite the small injuries to her face and the destroyed store-Lily felt really proud of herself. She had fought off a Demon…something that she had been terrified to think of at first, but when it was happening all she felt was power. Kicking Lattie in the face had felt good-Lattie reminded Lily of all those girls in high school who picked on her and Brianne. Lily smiled as she turned around and her smile widened as she looked up at Andy and saw the proud look that was in his eyes as he gazed down at her.


“I am so incredibly proud of you right now babe.” Andy said, his voice low as his forehead came to rest against hers and Lily felt her heart soar. Things with Andy had been moving along quite well-now if only he would act on his true feelings and quit pulling her around by guitar strings.

“Thanks. I was really scared at first, but then something in me just woke up and I knew it was either her or me. I chose myself.” She laughed and Andy only smiled as he moved to capture her lips with his. He felt a lot of feelings for Lily in that moment-the most prominent one being pride, but there was something else there…something niggling in the back of his head.

“Lily, I lo-“ There was a loud sound as someone clapped Andy on the back and he moved forward, pressing against Lily as he tried to regain his balance.

“Dude! You ready to get to practice and try out that new song you and Jake have been working on?!” CC shouted, his voice filled with laughter as Andy only smirked down at Lily and turned to the drummer. CC had the worst timing-ever.

“Yeah, if you guys are finished up here. Lil’? Do you want to come watch us?” Andy asked, turning from CC to face Lily again. Her lavender eyes seemed unsure, but then she smiled that bright smile at him and Andy knew-his feelings for this girl were deeper than he ever thought they could be.


The small group gathered in the middle of the store and Andy found himself searching around for Ashley. Where had he gone? Andy knew that it would be hard for Ash to get rid of Lattie-being a twin and all, but it had to be done. Their safety depended on it. Sighing, Andy let his eyes roam around the store, until finally the bassist came in to view as he walked slowly out of the back room, wiping his hands on his pants as he wore a grim look on his face.

After they had all gathered CC unlocked the front door, allowing them all to head out onto the streets of LA and then the door was locked behind them all. Andy walked slowly, lagging behind with Lily at his side as he tried to think of a way to tell her how he was feeling. Could he tell her those things without everything becoming awkward?

After a ten minute walk and CC almost getting run over by a car because he wasn’t watching where he was going-they group made it to their small practice space. It was a single room above an art studio in town, the owners had befriended Andy one day when he had wandered in from the street…obviously lost. Andy smirked down at Lily as he moved out of the way to allow her to go before him and he enjoyed his view of her creamy looking legs that were eye level as she walked up the stairs. Lily was a beautiful girl and Andy felt an excitement bubble up within him every time he looked at her.


“Ah, home sweet home!” CC shouted into the empty room as he ran over towards his drums and took a seat. Immediately he began to tap his sticks against one of the symbols, filling the room with a soft tinkling sound as the others all entered and moved towards their instruments.

“Anyone seen my pick?” Ashley called out into the room, smirking as Andy handed the bassist a white pick and Ashley held it between his teeth as he moved his fingers to tighten up the strings on his bass.


Lily moved to take a seat on the small beat up couch, some of the cushioning rubbing against her leg but it didn’t matter. She had watched the guys practice before-she’d been to all three of their shows, but this was the first time she would hear something original from them. Lily looked on in silence as CC, Jake, Jinxx and Ashley readied their instruments and Andy approached the microphone. His black hair was shining underneath the dim lighting in the room, his blue eyes almost glowing as he looked at her. He smirked-that smirk that made her heart speed up and immediately Lily was under his spell. He could sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for all she cared-she only wanted to watch Andy live out something that had obviously become a dream come true for him.


“So-uh-this is a song Jake and I have been working on and yeah…” Andy said and Lily couldn’t help but smile as she heard the opening guitar and suddenly her breath caught in her chest as Lily listened to Andy sing.

As Lily listened she felt the tears come to her eyes. She knew this song was partially for her and her little habit. Andy had kept her clean for a few weeks, but every once and awhile Lily would slip up. They were just small cuts here and there, but she knew that Andy knew-he could smell blood after all. The guttural screams coming from him made her shiver as Lily watched Andy move around and every once and a while he would catch her eye. She knew that this song was for her-he wanted her to get better and he wanted her to know that he would make her get better.

Slowly the guitars faded out and Andy stopped singing, but Lily still couldn’t take her eyes off of him. Everything about Andy while he preformed was magical and Lily never wanted it to stop. Suddenly she realized that they had stopped and she blushed deeply as she clapped and her lavender eyes caught Andy’s baby blues. He came over to her, sitting down next to her as the guys tooled around on their instruments-Jake and Jinxx had been working on another song and it sounded like they were really getting somewhere.


“What did you think?” Andy asked, his hands grasping for hers and Lily said nothing and only bit down on her lower lip. What did she think? She wanted to cry-she wanted him to know that she hated being a disappointment to him.

“I-I…it was amazing. You’re getting really good Andy.” Lily said, feeling dumb as she looked down at her boot clad feet. Her toes were pointed inward and suddenly Lily felt sick to her stomach. She was proud of Andy, but she felt so ashamed in that moment that she couldn’t turn to face him.

“I’m glad you like it. We’re thinking of trying to get someone to help us record some of this stuff. I-I hope you’ll be there for it.” Andy said, his voice low-lower than it usually was and Lily almost didn’t hear him.

“That’s so great Andy.” She said and Lily meant it. Andy smiled at her-a bright smile that made her feel lighter on the inside and suddenly his arms were wrapped around her, his chin resting on her shoulder as his lips brushed against her temple.

“I’m really happy you like everything Lily…I’m gonna go work on some things with Jake. You’ll be okay here?” Andy asked as he moved to get up, but his hands still held on to her tiny ones. Lily only smiled as she looked up at him.

“Yeah! Yeah-go…go have some fun.” Her voice was chipper, but Lily felt anything but happy in that moment.


As Andy and the rest of the guys worked on a slower sounding song-Andy kept looking over at her every few minutes, but Lily couldn’t pay attention. Her mind kept going back to her fight with Lattie and she also kept thinking about what the Demon had claimed. Satan wanted her? He wanted Lily and it seemed like he would go to the end of the world to get her. Lily felt a cold sweat break out across her brow as she thought about what all of that meant-not just for her, but for Andy. She was-well-inexperienced and she had thought that maybe she and Andy would someday get to that point. If Satan intended to make her his-he would have to do it with her cold dead body.

Lily would die before she was made to be with someone other than the one person in the world whom she loved.
