Andy felt like flying across the table as the Demon across the room smirked at him, his high cheekbones rising, his almond shaped eyes mocking as the stared Andy down. How? How was it possible that a Demon had entered through the doorway and was on Earth? Andy felt Lily lean in to him, her head resting against his shoulder and instinctively he put an arm around her, pulling her in to him more. Jake and Jinxx were busy talking about a band that they had been thinking of starting, but Andy found he could hardly pay attention long enough. There was something so familiar about the Demon standing across from him, but all Andy could focus on was the fact that there was a Demon-another Demon besides himself, on Earth and what that would mean for Lily and himself.


“So Lily, CC says you’re actually from LA yourself. Why lie?” Jinxx asked and Lily stopped smiling and cleared her throat as she looked down at her lap and Andy felt her shaking beneath him. Were they caught? What would happen now? These thoughts raced through his head as Andy looked down at Lily and then back up at Jinxx.

“I-uh. Shit. I ran away okay? I ran away and met Andy and knew that I could never go back home or else I would end up just like Brianne, but I felt ashamed and I just made it all up because I was scared and I’m sorry!” She said this in one long winded sob and Andy suddenly felt overly protective of Lily. She turned to him, burying her head in his chest as Andy just placed his hands on her back and rubbed up and down soothingly. Was this helpful? Andy wasn’t sure but it felt nice to him so he just kept going.

“Lily…you don’t have to lie about stuff like that. I see kids like you go through here every day-nothing shocks me anymore.” Jinxx said, his voice soft as he faced Lily and placed a hand on her arm softly. Andy felt like pulling her away from Jinxx-he had made her cry and if they were still down in Hell, Andy would have ripped his head off. They weren’t though-they were on Earth and there was a Demon watching and so Andy was relegated to continue comforting Lily.

“I-I know. I just felt embarrassed…” Lily sniffled and Andy let her pull away from him slightly as the conversation turned away from Lily and back towards the possible band that would be formed.


Jake and Jinxx were throwing out ideas and Andy found that he liked everything he was hearing. A band that traveled around, never staying in one place as they played music for people who felt lost or misunderstood. Andy felt lost and he smiled softly and wished that he could somehow fit into the idea of this band. Mid way through the conversation Lily excused herself, smiling at him as she moved to get up and Andy watched as she ducked around a group of people and headed up the stairs. His eyes never left the Demon in the corner, who was still standing there staring at their group and Andy still felt like there was something oddly familiar about the look that this Demon was giving him. The building began to clear out with Jake and CC bidding goodbye to the group and Andy felt concerned as Lily still hadn’t come back down. He said goodnight to Jinxx and Sammi and quietly Andy began to head up the stairs.

Andy poked his head into their room, the door was open slightly and he could hear sniffling coming from the direction of the bed. Lily was laid there, her knees tucked up against her chest and her back was rising and falling as she cried softly. What had happened? His first instinct was to run downstairs and see if the Demon was still around, but instead Andy sat on the edge of the bed. He placed his head against her heaving side, moving up and down with her as his fingers reached out and wrapped around her waist. Andy pulled Lily towards him, cradling her in his lap as she threw her arms around his neck and sobbed against his chest. This was so strange for him-so different from what he had ever been taught and Andy wasn’t sure if this was even the appropriate reaction to her emotional outburst.


“Lily?” Andy asked, his low voice breaking the silence and Lily felt her crying stop. She had made a huge mistake, her thighs were burning from her assault on herself and Lily only hoped that she could calm down before she alarmed Andy any more.

“I-I’m sorry Andy. I’m just a little upset from earlier…” She said, placing a fake smile on her lips as she sat up and turned to face Andy.

“Are you sure that’s all? You were crying pretty hard and I may be a Demon but I know what pain looks like-mostly because I inflict it-and you seem in a lot of emotional pain…” His fingers brushed against her cheeks as he looked down at her. Andy felt his heart stop as he looked down at this beautiful girl and she just looked so broken and lost sitting there in front of him.

“I’ll be okay.” Lily said as she moved to get up. Her pants were rubbing against her wounds as Lily moved and she tried not to cry out as she scooted across the bed. Andy noticed, she knew he noticed because he hissed lowly as he pulled her back towards him, his fingers moving towards her jacket as he tried to push it down her arms.

“What’s wrong? Are you hurt more than just emotionally?” It almost made Lily laugh. Sometimes Andy was so awkward with the way he spoke or the things that he said.

“I’m fine Andy…just bumped into something and I’m feeling a little sore…” She said as she tried to move from him once again but Andy was not buying it.

“No-I can smell blood. Did someone-something-attack you?” His voice was gruff as he moved from her and stalked across the room towards the small dresser. His sword was leaning up against the wood of the dresser and Andy picked it up quickly as Lily looked up at him in fear.


His eyes were wild as Andy paced around the room and Lily shrank away from him, her back leaning against the headboard of their bed as she watched him. She could see his pointed ears through his long black hair and his cheeks were puffed out as Andy grumbled to himself while he paced. Lily didn’t know what to do-he looked like he wanted to kill something and only she knew that her wounds had not been inflicted by anyone but herself. Suddenly Andy had stopped pacing and he was sitting on the bed, his eyes gentle as he looked at her. His eyes, those blue eyes that made her melt inside, were scanning over her body and Lily felt herself blush under his stare. Should she tell him? He would be so ashamed of her if he found out, but Lily didn’t like seeing this side of Andy-his Demonic side.


“No one hurt me Andy…” Lily said, taking in a deep breath as she stood up and moved to stand in front of him. She peeled her pants down, watching as his eyes grew wide as he took in her five little bandaids that covered her wounds.

“Lily…what did you do?” Andy asked as he came at her and Lily cringed as she awaited his reaction. Instead of yelling at her, which was what she was used to, Andy pulled her to him, his hands resting against the back of her head as he held her tightly.

“I’m so-sorry Andy…” It was all she could get out before the tears came and soon the two of them were on the bed once again, Lily sitting on Andy’s legs as he held her. He kissed the top of her head softly, but Andy could feel his anger boiling inside of himself.


Had she no idea what he had given up to bring her here? Everything he had ever known-the world he had always been a part of…it was all gone. For her. Cal had been his best friend and Andy had said goodbye to him without thinking twice. For Lily. He saved her from a fate worse than death and he himself had almost been punished for it. She had died this way-she had died because she couldn’t deal with the pain anymore and Andy still didn’t understand why. Did she feel like she couldn’t talk to him? Like he wouldn’t or couldn’t understand? Andy kissed the top of her head before he moved her so that he could see her face and she could see his.


“Why?” One word from him and all Lily could do was avoid his eyes and bite down on her lower lip.

“I-I was just feeling stressed after seeing CC today and then the guys found out that I lied and I just needed to get it out…”She rushed through everything and Lily finally looked up to meet Andy’s eyes.

“What about me? You couldn’t have pulled me aside to tell me how you were feeling? Do you understand everything that I did for you was because I wanted to give you a second chance in life?” His voice was low as Andy looked down at her and Lily felt like crying again.

“I guess I’d never had anyone in the past like you Andy-someone who would listen to me and care about me no matter how much I screwed up…I didn’t know I could lean on you like that.”Her voice was barely above a whisper and Andy said nothing as he placed a finger against her cheek and moved to wipe away her tears. Her lips were parted slightly, her sweet breath landing on his face and suddenly Andy felt himself powerless against her stare as she looked up at him.


Slowly and without hesitation, Andy placed his lips against Lily’s. At first she seemed unsure of what to do, but soon her fingers were tangling themselves in his hair and Andy found that he didn’t want to part from her. Her lips, pink and soft, seemed to mold themselves against his and it made him crazy as they sat there. Andy placed his hands on either side of her face, his thumbs rubbing at her cheekbones as he pulled away from her slightly. Her lavender eyes were shocked as she looked up at him and Andy didn’t know what to say or do in that moment, so he placed his lips against hers once again and suddenly he felt her teeth reach out and bite down on his lip ring. Good grief! It felt strange, but incredible and Andy couldn’t stop the growl from escaping his chest as he pulled her against him, his hands griping at her shoulders until finally Lily pulled away and Andy smirked at her beet red complexion.


“Wha-what was that?” Lily asked and Andy just smirked down at her as he took in her swollen pink lips and all he wanted to do was kiss her more.

“Our first kiss?” He said, his fingers running trails down her arms until finally his hands ended at hers and he held them tightly.

“Where did you get the idea to do that?” Lily asked as she looked up at him, amazement still lacing her features as Andy just smiled at her.

“Just seemed like the right thing to do. Why was it not acceptable?” Andy asked, suddenly worried that he had done the wrong thing and that Lily would hate him.


He looked down at her, seeing her pink cheeks as she stared up at him and Andy felt his heart flutter. Being on Earth was changing him and while Andy would have hated the change, as he looked down at the beautiful girl in his arms he knew that this change was for the better. She was everything to him in that moment and it broke him a little to know that even after everything that she was still hurting. How could he take away her pain? This pain was something deep inside Lily. It wasn’t a Demon or a person causing this pain-no, this was Lily being down on herself and as he looked at her Andy knew that he would have to protect Lily from herself. At all costs.


“It was…perfect.” She said, leaning her head against his chest and as Andy looked out the window, his hands holding hers, he saw the stars for the first time.

They didn’t have stars down in Hell and as Andy looked at them now, with Lily in his arms, he knew that she was his Morningstar-she was his everything.

*jumps up and down* They kissed! Andy kissed Lily! Lily kissed Andy! He has feelings for her! What are those feelings? I don't know but they finally kissed!
