Through Pain of Heart Or Loss of Mind

Chapter 6: Change

MARCUS' POV

Our ride to the White River Amphitheater, the Seattle venue, was hell. We were in the limo for about thirty minutes and the entire time Amelia and C.C. had been flirting. It was annoying the hell out of me. I hadn't had anyone to talk to to distract myself since Jason and Mircee were holding hands and talking, and I didn't want to feel like I was intruding.
I had just sighed and took my iPod out, putting in my earphones. I'd scrolled through it finally choosing a song by Jamie's Elsewhere. It was called The Lighthouse and it was one of my favorites by them. I'g tapped my foot and my fingers to the rhythm of the drums and said the lyrics in my head. I'd taken the upcoming lyrics to heart.
I'd love nothing more than
To pull up my roots and replant myself
In much richer grounds
Shed the dead limbs
And regrow new
I had looked down at my hands, still listening to the song. I just wanted to change how I was. To at least break out of my shell that I seemed to be trapped in. For the longest time I've wanted to confess to Amelia how I felt about her, always backing out at last minute. And now she was flirting with the guy she'd had a fangirl crush on... If I didn't make a move soon, I was going to miss my chance.
Before I knew it, we'd arrived at the venue. Amelia and C.C. had gotten out first, hand in hand. I'd gotten out last and I noticed rows of similar looking tour buses, nearly side by side each other. How would we know which one was ours?
A tall, pale skinned guy walked towards us from the buses, his bald head shimmering in the sunlight. He walked up to Mircee and smiled.
"Hey guys! Long time, no see, huh? How you guys doin'?" It was our band manager Dimitri. The last time we saw him he'd had a full head of dark hair. He had also added a whole other sleeve to his collection of tattoos.
"We're doing mighty damn fine, right guys?" said Mircee, turning around and smirking at all of us.
"That's good," he looked over at C.C., "So I see you've already met one of the bands. That's good, that's good. Now let me show you guys to your tour bus." He grinned.
We followed him to the back of the rows of tour buses and he finally stopped in front of one that looked just like most of the other tour buses here. He put up a laminated sign that said 'Ahead Of Time' on the door. Well at least that'll help us know which one is ours. He pulled out a key and handed it to Mircee.
"You may do the honors, m'lady." he said, gesturing his hands towards the door. She looked down and stared at the key. After a few moments, I was starting to get impatient.
"Dude, just open the door already!" I said. She looked up and glared at me but then laughed.
"Sorry. I'm still taking this all in." She slowly inserted the key into the lock and twisted, creating a click that meant it was unlocked. We all walked in and looked around for a minute. It was pretty nice, just the typical look you saw from band interviews online. I watched as Mircee ran towards the bunks, hopping into the lower left bunk.
"I call this one! There's no fucking way I'm falling onto the floor from that height in the middle of the night!" She said as she pointed to the bunk above her. She had this weird habit of rolling off her bed in the middle of night, having a new bruise about every other day. We all chuckled and I was about to take the bunk across from Mircee before Jason came up and asked me if he could have it. I shrugged and gave it to him, putting my bag in the bunk above him. I walked towards the back of the bus where there was a small lounging area. There was a couch that laid up against all three walls and there was a small TV on the far side wall. I'd probably end up sleeping in here more often. I had a habit of falling asleep watching TV. It'd become almost a routine so it'd seem natural for me to sleep on the couch. I walked from the back to the front and sat the small table that was available. As I fumbled for my phone in my pocket, C.C. walked back in with Amelia. I hadn't noticed they'd left.
"Hey guys, it seems that our tour bus is just two buses down that way," he said, pointing towards the front of the bus. Amelia was holding onto his other arm and was grinning.
"The guys said we were welcome to come whenever. They're planning on having some beer there later." She smirked at me.
Great. Tonight should be fun...
