2. Chapter Two: The City of Angels.

She woke up that morning with a big smile on her face. Having already packed the day before, the only thing left to do was getting ready. She dressed up with an Avenged tank top and a pair of skinny blue jeans and her black combat boots. Put on some make up, just eyeliner and mascara, picked up her leather shoulder bag and her luggage and left her appartment heading to the airport.
It was already 8 o'clock when she get there, just in time for the check in and the reach the queue for the boarding at the right gate.
Once her turn had arrived, she handed her passport and ticket to the hostess for the last controls, then walked through the little corridor and right away in the plane. She skipped along the aisle searching for her assigned place.
"26B... 26B... 26B... Where the heck are you?!" She thought already bother by the noise that some children were making by playing at some sorta videogame.
"Bingo!" She yelled inside of herself when she found the right seat. It was the place in the middle, but didn't mind.
After a while a guy reached her line and stop in front of it. She didn't noticed since she too overwhelmed by the book she was reading and lost in the music.
She felt a finger tapping on her left shoulder and when she raised her stare from the pages of 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' she saw a young man with long dark hair and blue eyes watching her.
«Hi» he started «Can I sit? The one on your left is actually my assign seat...»
She woke up from her daydream and answered shyly: «Yeah. Sure. Sorry. I was too lost in reading.»
«Noticed» a smile covering those full lips. «Which is the title?» he questioned.
«”Dorian Gray”. I’m into goth and classical, actually» she answered with a smirk.
«Cool!»
«Usually, it’s not what people think…»
«But I’m not “the people”» he said nudging her slightly with his shoulder.
She laugh a bit. The guy was weird, but in a good way, and seemed kinda familiar, somehow. Maybe he was someone important. Not a really big deal since she was going in the land of stars, of actors and singers.
She smiled to him a last time before putting on again her headphone and started to read again. Sometimes she would throw a glance over to find him rest a bit with his eyes shut and his head lying on his resthead and his legs resting lazily on the footrest.
After three hours, the voice of a woman announced form the speakers that the plane was about to land at the airport of Los Angeles.
Ryanne started to put away her things in her bag and when she lifted her head, she found the weird gut staring to her.
«What? Do I have something on my face or…» she started asking.
«No, no, don’t worry. Just admiring the view» he said with a cocky smile.
She shrugged. “He’s probably talking about the panorama…” thought to herself.
They fasten they seatbelt as they were told to and after about twenty minutes, the plane landed on the Californian ground.
«We welcome you to the Orange Country. It’s 3 A.M. local time. Enjoy your stay and thank for choosing our company»
She silently got off the airbus and jumped on one of the small buses that were waiting outside to carry the passengers at the entrance of the building followed by the same guy.
When they got inside, Ry was welcomed by a rushing being that wrapped her arms around her body and crushed her.
«I’m happy to see you too, sis» she chuckled once freed from that bone-cracking hug of Hayley’s while the other smiled.
«Well, see you around then» the guy she almost forgot about said.
«Yeah, sure» and waved goodbye.
After a while, when she was still watching him skipping through the crowd, Hayley nudged her and said arching her eyebrows: «Who was that?»
«I don’t know, really. But he kinda looked familiar at some point…» she answered still thinking about it.
«You like him» her friend stated.
«What?! I’ve known him for like five minutes! How can I possibly like him so quickly? I don’t even know him»
«If you say so, but I don’t believe you» Hayls answered.
«Whatever…»
«Okay, let’s go home so you can relax a bit just in time for tonight…»
«Okay. Wait. What are you up to?» Ryanne asked with worried eyes.
«Surprise, sis, surprise» the other cut her off and started to walk towards the exit.
