Bah, you didn't offend me...English as a first language or not, I simply meant that while compared to those who earn an income from their writing, I may be an amateur. Then again, in comparison to most of those little teenie-boppers that can barely write an English essay at their own reading level, let alone at a college level while somewhere around the age of a freshman/sophomore in high school...yeah, I'm prolly closer to being a pro than them.

Honestly, though, that's why I tend to keep a lot of comments to myself. Yeah, I'll respond to comments left on my works, but I'm such an Avant Garde that I generally won't comment on someone else's works unless they're particularly exceptional. It can be pretty hard to please me on an artistic and musical front, so I save my comments for those best at the game, if that makes any sense. *shrugs*

I don't really like first-person that much due to what I've already stated, and the fact that I can't really lose myself into an AU of sorts while reading it. I'm such an imaginative person (send me a PM if you wanna have another reference point, as I'm not putting it out there for everyone and their brother to see) that I prefer third-person. It lets me sink into that AU and feel like I'm actually part of the story as I'm reading it, so I guess you could say that's why I write my own stories that way. I want my readers to not just be able to identify with the narrator, but to be able to see themselves in the AU I'm painting, so to speak, to be able to get in their heads and pick their brains without feeling like they're looking directly through the character's eyes. That, and as I've had someone else tell me...it's a nice change of pace from all the first-person crap with so many typos and whatnot that it hurts my brain to attempt reading. *shrugs and chuckles*

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you in any way whatsoever, but english isn't my first language so there's bound to be misunderstandings haha. By "amateur" I meant those authors who don't write books for a living (which includes most if not all fanfiction writers).
Regarding the quality of stories, we should also take into account that the average age of this site's active users is probably around 14-15. These kids grew up with the stupid idea that "books are for losers" which seems to be more and more popular with every generation of teens. Also, most of the great stories I've come across on this website have either not been updated in a long time or their authors have simply grown out of fan fiction and given up on them.
First person stories can be quite enjoyable as well, as long as they're well written and like you said, not focused on daily routines. I personally like first person writing a lot because it allows me to identify with the narrator-character and feel like I'm a part of the story. Actually, I just finished reading a first-person novel called The Ice Queen where I didn't know the main character's name until like halfway through the book haha. Such a great piece of work.
Ok, I'm gonna stop spamming you now lol

Sleep tight!

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm an amateur author, sugar, but I'm definitely not ballsy enough to say I'm a professional, either. I've been writing for close to a decade, give or take, but only started posting my works for others to read within the last 2 years or so. So long as you don't show up on my front deck like a psycho, stalk me all you want on this site. LOL!

As for focusing so much on the characters' feelings... Well, #1. Take a look at an actual book, and you'll find that happens in a lot more novels than I think Generation Y realizes, given that it's so technology and social media-based. #2. Almost all the fan-fiction I read is the amateur, first-person shit that focuses more on daily routines in the form of "I reached over and turned off my alarm clock. Once outta bed, I went to the bathroom to take care of business, then shower before getting ready for school", etc. It drives me crazy to read that kinda garbage, but sadly, aside from writers like myself and my sissy, @DarkSeraph28, there's very few decent ones who can actually write in third-person.

Unfortunately, I dunno how to help you with that issue. I actually just downloaded AdBlock Pro for my phone, but only time will tell if it'll work the way it's supposed to. *shrugs* We'll see, though... For now, I'm gonna go get some sleep so I can continue cooking up some madness, in more ways than one... *zonks*

To be quite honest, I've been pretty much stalking you ever since I found your "Gift of..." series ♡ but just recently decided to join the site. I like your writing style a lot, the way you focus so much on the characters' feelings gives the stories a certain charm that very few amateur authors can pull off. You are very talented.
The thing with the popups is, I'm on Chrome on the phone so there's not much I can do. Almost every time I click a link though, the page loads about 90% then a dialog box with some chinese writing appears and after I close that it redirects me to a site that says I've been targeted by hackers. And it's been like this since a couple hours ago...nothing before that

Sorry for the spam haha

Much grass, sugar. Feel free to read my other works if you wanna. Some are finished, others aren't. The ones that aren't and haven't been updated in months...well, I dunno if they'll ever be or not since Writer's Block has been wanting to kick my ass.

As for the popups...well, I have no idea. I got sick of this site wanting to have video ads that automatically started playing, as well as all the ads from various other sites, so I started using AdBlocker Pro. I haven't really had a problem with ads from any site ever since then. *shrugs*

This is one of the best stories I've found on here and you are an amazing writer! Keep up the good work, love

Completely unrelated: am I the only one who's been getting a shit ton of popups and "your pc has viruses" messages all over this site today? 'Cause it's really annoying...

@lozpurdy_BVB
Much grass, sugar. I can't guarantee that I'll have it up sooner than this one came after the last, nor that it won't take longer. Writer's Block has been taking chunks outta my ass on it because my inspiration for it suddenly went bye-bye...dunno why, just that it did. *shrugs* However, I'm a stubborn little bitch, and as awesome as it is, I'm Hell-bound and determined to finish it, damn it! *slams fist into glass desk, then hits the keyboard again*

Glad ya like it, sugar. And I can tell ya right now, anything I write (hetero, Andley, some other form of ship between the band members, etc.) is in third person. I hate first person because it's too immature and gives away the author's inexperience. That, and I'm the daughter of a published author...I've picked up a few things from my published parent, and just reading actual books, in general.

I've figured out in the last year or so that I have a talent for writing, that I can catch folks hook, line, and sinker with the first sentence of a prologue. Too bad my writing isn't a source of income, but I'm happier than it's not...I'd get burnt out too quick trying to keep up with a publisher's deadlines.

Recommend this and any of my other stories to whoever you feel the need to. I'm of the mindset that I don't really care if I get any views. I write for my own enjoyment, and if someone else happens to enjoy my writing, that's great; if not, I could care less.

I love this story! It's so sweet and everything and it's nice to imagine the way Ashley would react to being a new father. I can't wait to see what happens next. Definitely keeping an eye out for this one :) even recommended it to my friend Kat whose a big Ashley Purdy fan. I know she'll love this :) and it's good to see a story that's not in first person for once. All I ever see with Fanfics like BVB and MIW are first person. Gets a little tiring after a while so this was a good change of pace!
