When I post a chapter on something I never expect to get comments or reviews or anything... So in a way, yes this site is lacking majorly in participation from readers which would in turn make their writing and the stories that are so close to your hearts better. (And I haven't read anything since thursday so I need to read together burning bright still)

That's really sad that you don't expect reviews! I wish I had time to actually sit and read things because I would read some of your stuff first-sadly work is my life for the most part. I'm starting to think about going to other sites-Mibba or Wattpad, but this place just feels right...if only we could get people to participate.

I experience the same thing. Like she said, I never expect reviews or comments, I just update because I know that I will lose subscribers otherwise. It would be nice for people to comment more. I know I do a lot of commenting, subscribing, and voting on this website. I think that I have about 40-50 story subscriptions. But yes, I agree with you 100%.
tbh I dont expect reviews either, i'd love for my stories to get reviewed tho, constructive criticism helps people develop their skills, i think the thing that puts people off is the constant no hate messages in the summaries, theres a difference, but theres so many stories on here that i just wann do a one word comment looking summat like this >>> FORMAT!!!!! lol ive been so tempted cuz theyre just huge gret big long paragraphs

I noticed that any site I go on doesn't get many reviews or things like that. On Mibba, I used to get tons of comments but I guess when I started to get busy and not update as often, people forgot about my stuff. Or, people just don't leave comments anymore. I always leave a comment if I find a story I really like. I want that person to know what I like about it and what they could maybe improve on if there is some confusion within the story. But lately, I haven't been finding many good reads anywhere and I also don't have time to really delve into a story..

I haven't had time to read anything either but when I do I always review because it just makes my day to get reviews and see people enjoying themselves.
I never expect comments or anything, from the beginning I didn't even think people would check it out. Some people comment sometimes, but most are 'ghost readers', I don't think they realise that when we write these stories, it can get hard to be motivated to keep writing them when we don't get comments, I don't know how to explain it. When I get a comment it helps me be motivated, realise that people really do like it and it is worth continuing, even bad feedback is better than nothing cos it helps you to imrove if that makes any sense. Like with Broken Wing, it really makes my day when I get reviews, it let's me know that people really do like what I write
Is it me or does this site kind of lack when it comes to commenting and reviewing? I mean when I read fanfiction that I like, I review it because I know that most authors like hearing feedback(I know I do), but it seems like people on this site don't review or comment near enough. Some of the best stories on this site have so few reviews that it's kind of sad.
I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing this, or if it was just me...
