VALEREY’S POV


-------(Time lapse rap up)-------It’s been about two and a half months since me, Dylen, Anna, Elliot and Aaron formed our band. All four of them have moved to LA so we can focus on our work together. We had decided two months ago that our name would be Angel’s Demise. Since then we’ve written five songs and have an EP out for sale. Sales on it have actually been doing pretty well, but that could have something to do with Jinxx telling all his Twitter followers to pick it up and give it a listen. Black Veil Brides is going on tour this winter and Angel’s Demise will be the opening act. The tour is only three days away and I can already feel the anxiety rising in me. Elliot and Aaron have said how nervous they are, too. Anna and Dylen don’t seem to be fazed by it at all, though. I can’t help but think that I might mess up the lyrics or that nobody will like our stuff. But it will be our first tour and all the dates are sold out. The VIP tickets that include a meet and greet with BVB also included one with AD. I hope a lot of people actually stop to meet us.----------


“Hey Val, you about ready, we gotta leave soon” I hear Jinxx yell from the front room

“Yea, almost, I just have a few more things to pack” I answer

I go into our bathroom and grab my make-up, flat iron, and curling iron, run back to our room and stuff them into my bag. After that I head to the front room to find everyone except Anna waiting for me.

“Hey, where’s Anna at?” I ask

“She was still packing when we got to her apartment so we decided we swing back around after we picked you and Jinxx up” Elliot replies

“Okay, well then let’s go get her!” I say enthusiastically

We all head out to a passenger van that the record label provided so we could all show up together to load the tour bus. My anxiety hits again. Even if our EP has been selling well, I bet no one likes it. I can’t help but keep telling myself that. I think to myself the rest of the ride to Anna’s place and then to meet up spot for our tour bus and bus driver, Jon. We all load up and head off to the first city of our tour. God, our tour. I can’t believe I’m actually going on tour with my own band with our own sound. It’s so surreal.

“Hey, you’ve been awful quiet, what’re you thinking about?” Jinxx asks as we get out of the van.

“Just about how this is actually happening. I seriously can’t thank you enough.” I reply

“Well, all five of us guys played a part in it. The label just can’t say no to us if we’re persistent enough.”

I laugh “Yea, it’s kinda hard to say no to you guys sometimes”

When we are all situated on the bus Jon tells us what our first destination would be. Cincinnati Ohio. Shit. That’s where my granddad is and he’s out of prison. Jinxx must have seen the worry on my face because he motions for us to go to the back of the bus. I stand up shaking slightly and follow him.

“Valerey, I promise you he won’t find you and even if he does, he won’t be able to hurt you again.” Jinxx says calmly.

“He will! He will... I know he will” I reply “It’d be best if AD finds a replacement singer and I just stay in LA”

“No, it wouldn’t, a band isn’t a band without their singer.” I can hear the frustration in his voice

“I’m sorry, I just- I don’t know if I can face that town again.”

“If you’re going to be a touring band you need to be able to face it. That’s a stop that almost every band does on almost every tour.”

I look down “I know...”

He wraps me in his arms and whispers to me “Look, I’m sorry I got a bit irritated, you just have to face your fears, you can’t keep running.”

“I know” I say just before Dylen walks in

“Hey, what’s up? The others sent me back here to see if you were alright” He says

“Yea, I’m fine, just a little worried about our first stop” I reply

“Believe me, Anna, Elliot, Aaron and I are all a bit worried. We all see that place as Hell on Earth”

“But you all get to see your parents” I say

“Did I not tell you? Aaron and Elliot are from an abusive household, too”

I smile slightly at the thought that there are others like me out there “Oh, I didn’t know”

“Yea, I’m kinda surprised you didn’t know. They don’t really keep it a secret.”

“Um, I didn’t know either” Jinxx pipes up

“Really? Damn I thought I had told you guys.”

I laugh a little “Nope”

Dylen smiles “Well, at least I managed to cheer you up a little” He says, then tackles me and starts tickling me

“Dylen... S- Stop it.” I say in between breaths. He gets up and offers me his hand only to pull it away when I reach for it

“You’re mean” I yell playfully

“Yup!” He says cheerfully “Well, we better get back to the others

The three of us head back out to the front of the bus where the others were. We sit and talk for hours before Jake and Dylen decide they’re tired, so we all decide to head to bed.
