So Hear My Voice
I wake up before Jinxx does. I slay there silently in his warm embrace waiting for him to wake up.
“I love you” I whisper and he stirs.
“I love you, too” He smiles.
“Sorry for waking you up” I giggle.
“It’s nice waking up next to you” He says and I smile
We lay there for a few minutes before Jinxx tells me we have to get up.
“We’re meeting the guys at Andy’s at 2:00 so we should get ready since it’s… shit, it’s 1:30!”
He gets up and I laugh at him.
“It’s fine if we’re a little late” I say
“Oh yea, I forgot to ask how you slept after that nightmare” He says, pulling his shirt on.
“I didn’t dream at all, which I guess is good”
“No dream is better than a bad one” He says, smiling.
We get ready and head for the car. It’s 1:55 by the time we leave.
“We’re gonna be late” Jinxx complains.
“It’s fine. They aren’t gonna worry if we’re a little late.”
Jinxx pouts and we drive off. We get to Andy’s house at 2:05.
“See, we’re only five minutes late, nothing to worry about.” I tell him. He looks at me with a pouty face.
“You’re cute when you do that” I say causing him to smile.
“Really?” He says still smiling.
I laugh and we walk into Andy’s house. The guys are all sitting on the couch talking loudly, so they don’t hear us come in.
“Honey, I’m home!” Jinxx yells and they all start laughing. It’d be nice to have friends like these.
“Hey, Valerey, how ya feeling?” Andy asks obviously concerned.
“Fine” I mumble and they all look at Jinxx.
“She’s been having nightmares, but we had a lot of fun yesterday” He says
“What’d you guys do?” Ashley asks
“Nothing you would’ve” Jinxx replies, embarrassed. It’s kinda cute, too.
“Well then how the hell did you guys have fun?” Ashley jokes.
“We, uh, went to the mall and made fun of the prissy girls in Hollister and stuff” I answer
They all look at Jinxx. “She really does talk, she just has to get used to you.” He says
“And I’m sorry about yelling at you guys the other day…”
“It’s fine” Andy replies.
“Um, where’s your bathroom at?” I ask.
Jinxx looks at me, concerned and then tells me where it’s at. I walk down to it and shut the door. I can hear them talking.
“So, what’s up with her?” I hear someone ask.
“She’s just really shy. She also kinda thinks you guys hate her because she yelled at you.” Someone, I’m guessing Jinxx, answers.
“We don’t hate her, and why did she yell at us?” I think Andy asks.
“She told me that it was because she doesn’t know how to react to people caring about her.” Jinxx answers.
I open the door and everything gets silent. I walk back into the living room and sit down next to Jinxx, looking at the ground. He looks over at me with worry written all over his face. They talk for a little while and I just keep looking at the ground, playing with my ring.
“What’s wrong?” Andy asks
I don’t answer.
“Can you guys go in another room for a minute?” Jinxx asks.
“Sure” they all say in unison
“What’s wrong? You seemed fine earlier” Jinxx asks
I don’t answer him.
“Please talk to me.”
When I don’t answer, he shakes me a little and I jump from shock.
“What were you thinking about?” He asks. I just start crying.
“I can’t stop thinking about those dreams” I say through my tears
“They don’t mean anything, so don’t worry about them” he says quietly.
“I can have Andy sing Saviour to you if you want”
I shake my head.
“Jinxx, those dreams have to mean something since they keep happening.” I say, still crying.
“They don’t mean anything. You deserve to be here. You’re going to do something great, I just know it”
“How do you know that?”
“Because I know you”
I stop crying, but I’m still shaking really badly from my anxiety.
“I’ll go tell the guys we’re going home” He says and I nod
We drive home. Jinxx has his iPod hooked up to the radio with Saviour on repeat. He’s too amazing… I don’t deserve him…
