The Girl With The Dragon's Blood

It is safe to say that I was thoroughly freaking the fuck out. I was standing backstage at the venue listening to the crowd chant. Jinxx was still sick as a dog and Sammi refused to let him out of bed. We had all gotten ready and were waiting for our cue to go on. The guys were in there usual getup and I looked down for the millionth time wondering if I looked okay.
I was wearing black ripped leggings with black boots and a black corset with gold piping. My hair was teased up and I had warpaint on that made it look like I had scales around my right eye. There was glitter on them so they would shine in the lights.
Everybody told me I looked fine and that they were sure I would be amazing but be that as it may. these guys were my family and I felt like I was going to screw up and let them down. I could give a shit less about the strangers but I felt awful thinking I might let Andy and the guys down. Ashley turned around to look at me and put a comforting arm around my shoulder. "You will do fine babe. Don't worry about it. Just walk out there and play to your hearts content." He whispered in my ear.
A strange feeling settled in the pit of my stomach. It was warm an tingly and eased my fears. I frowned. I knew it had to do with Ashley but I didn't know what it was. Or why it made me blush. I shook my head as we all got ready to run out on stage. Ashley and I were the last ones out and when the crowd saw me silence fell. Then there was a roar of confusion. Andy quieted them. "Okay Army. I see that you've noticed that there is a newcomer in our little group. Don't worry. Jinxx got sick and couldn't play tonight but luckily this very talented girl right here decided to take his place. You'll probably see a lot of her this tour. This is Tora Doll Jinxx and Sammi adopted her and she's a part of our family now. Make her feel welcome. Alright guys?" He said. The crowd stilled for a moment before erupting into frenzied cheers. They were screaming my name.
I smiled in wonder. They actually wanted to hear me? After tht we jumped right in. After we got through the first song people who had been skeptical about my skills were now cheering with the rest. Ashley and I moved in sync with eachother never letting the other out of the proximity range. When it came time to play overture I traded in my guitar for the violin Jinxx normally used. I had practiced with it all night to get a feel for it. I immediately tucked it under my chin and started playing while the crowd watched with baited breathe. When I finished they cheered lousy once more.
We ran through a couple more songs and then it was over and we all ran offstage sweating. I had barely set my gear down when I was picked up and spun around. "You were amazing!" Andy yelled. I laughed and all the other guys hugged me and congratulated me. The last person to hug me was Ashley and we tucked me into his chest tightly. I stood there stiffly trying to decider the fuzzy feeling that was back into the pit of my stomach.
/you are falling in love young one./ State Alecto. At that I abruptly pushed Ashley away. 'I am not! Now will you shut up and go away?' I growled. My happy mood forgotten. Ashley gave me a look that I ignored. We made our way back to the bus and I immediately collapsed completely exhausted.
"I hope you know I'm never doing that again." I told them wearily. I heard them chuckle as they sat down around me.
The rest of the week went normally. Jinxx got better and was able to play the next day. I still went on stage for the shows because I had to be near Ashley but didn't do much. Occasionally I would do dueling guitars with Jake or accompany Jinxx with my own violin.
Every day I fought the vet growing warmth in my stomach that appeared when Ashley was around. He wasn't my mate and he damn well never would be! I told my self repeatedly.
